    performance enhancing drugs...

Hi Teresita, no, I didn't take them, that's what my brain tumor does, pumps out extra cortisol, which is a steroid. I've had ER docs ask me how long I've been on steroids, when I haven't been on them for over a year! And that's the point, that my body is naturally producing excess hormones like testosterone and steroids like cortisol.

    performance enhancing drugs...

It seems like the only sports stories I hear about are the scandals involving professional athletes and steroids and/or performance enhancing drugs. It got me thinking. How can I personally relate these stories with my life? Imagine if you will, that I am a world famous athlete. I’m one of the world’s top baseball players. Never mind that in reality I’m recently 44, 5’4” with frizzy hair and I’m shaped like a baseball… Why, even my face is shaped like a baseball… Anyway, someone gets suspicious… my bat’s on fire, and I hit for the cycle almost every game! Hey battah-battah! My batting average gets better and better, until finally, the baseball commission finally has no option, they must test me for steroids and performance enhancing drugs. Bad news for me! The blood tests come back and my testosterone comes back “freakishly high” and I’m clearly on steroids… They are even starting to affect my life off-field, getting into fights…

    benign breast mass

well, the mass in my breast is benign. The whole process was so painful, and I ended up with tears streaming down my face as she mashed my breast in the machine. I don't know if there will be a bruse, but I'll be surprised if there isn't one.

    How are my March Bandsters!!

Can any Marcher play, or are you looking for specifically March '06? NSV stands for Non-scale Victory. They are the wonderful things that add depth and shading to our journey.

    What is your pirate name?

My son, Black Bartholomew, just got back from Ocean Shores and brought be back a deck of pirate cards, (with a gold dabloon) and a pirate rubber ducky! When I came home from my week's Cushing testing, he'd set up a whole pirate sceen on the back of the sofa ready for me, got me my own tube of pirates.

    I did something stupid

No lectures, you know that's not my style. ((((hugs))))) I'm so sorry! I know that most people are not prepaired for how little tolerance they now have for booze! I think it's important to tell your doc about this, just as an FYI. So, you learned a valuable lesson, so it isn't a total loss, right? I had the dry heaves this afternoon, and I'll be calling my clinic tomorrow morning, just as an FYI for them. I was at my regular doc's for this rotten on-going headache, and after she stepped out to get me a pain-shot I started heaving. I knew I was queezy, but I didn't realize I was that queezy... So there we are.

    In theory this should work...

 wow, I'm jelous! I'm not even losing weight, and very little bread for me. I've been jonesin' for a Cinnabon lately, but that won't be in the cards for me. At least not for a while! I'm impressed Argon! Congrats on your sandwich. Next time, think about me while you are eating it!
  10. Congrats on your first fill. At the clinic I use, we are told to "take it easy" for the rest of the day. I specially asked about the liquids for the rest of they day, and was told that wasn't neccessary. But it is important ot take it easy after your fills because you might now be ready for how tight you actaully are. Good luck!

    what is this feeling?

go for as many as you feel you need. This is the time for healing, and you need to make sure you have enough to rebuild your body. Any weight lost during this time, is strictly bonus!

    what is this feeling?

Every doc is different Saul. I was told that I could have anything that would fit through a straw. For me, liquified soup was A-okay! And yes, welcome to FULL!
  15. Okay, we all know that Dr. Bruce Banner got dosed with too much Gamma Radiation, which turns him into The Increadible Hulk. So... I'm thinking that it was his Pit that got espeically zapped. His ACTH has to be affected, since he turns green. (I'm not sure where the ACTH is produced, so I could be wrong.) "You wouldn't like me when I"m angry" pretty much sums me up when I'm High... So is he cyclical with *really* short cycles, or full blown Cushing's? I edited this because I got his name wrong! Good think I married a Geek-boy-husband because he was able to straighten me out! Also, someone pointed out to me that The Hulk is green not because of t he extra ACTH, but breen from nausia. Some folks have nausia with their High phase... And most people agree, the Hulk is probably definately cyclical...

The band just isn't working for me

5 sizes!!!! Woot! Ok, you have lost more than 3-4% body fat. Way more. At your gym, you should have the facilities to test your body composition. Really need to do this. I cannot recommend this strongly enough, especailywith your work out schedule. I'm serious. You've been beating yourself up for something that you shouldnt' be. Namely putting on muscle mass. We focus so much on the scale, when we shouldn't.

    GB vs. Lapband

There have been dozens of threads on this subject. If you do a search on this topic, you will be quite surprized at the folks who've written on this subject. Good luck, and happy searching/researching.

    In theory this should work...

heh, no way will you be eating calamari!!!! Unless you like squid flavored chewing gum... I don't honestly think anything can prepair you to be aware of what you will be eating until you are actually banded. My DH was banded more than a year before I was, and I still wasn't paired for myself. Some one on the board said that they though they would be find just eating a 6inch sub from a sandwich place for lunch after they were banded. I'm still laughing at that one. Because you will be able to eat so much less, the quality of your food must be the highest.

    Trouble with fruit?

Some folks have a very difficult time with the skin on some fruit, including tomatoes, makes them "stuck" every time. As for the reflux/acid, it might be that they are exceptionally sweet and that is causing a problem? I would go with Jenna, and suggest trying something else and seeing if that helps.

    Are you hungry?

Hi Scott, Some people don't experience much hunger after banding, while others get to experience real hunger for the first time. So many of us haven't not eaten to the point where we really are hungry. (I hope that makes sense) I know that I'm no longer consumed with food, as a general rule. Now when I'm on a cortiosl high, I understand what's going on. But when that happens, it doesn't rule me. A lot of new bandsters are quite upset when they discover that they still feel hungry after being banded. I know that some have reacted with this with anger and feelings of betrayal. They thought that they would never feel hunger again. But the band doesn't stop that. But it lets you feel real body hunger. For me, one of the keys has been to understand when I'm getting hungry, so I don't wait until I'm actually really, really hungry. If I wait to eat then, I usaully get into trouble and take too big of bites. And that will lead to being stuck or worse
