This is a gi-normous NSV. I haven't used my inhaler in five whole days! As many of you know, I have terrible acute and chronic asthma. Five days before my band installation, I had to be taken to the ER via ambulance. My asthma was one of the main reasons I got the band, that whole prospect of death by resperatory failure just didn't apeal to me. (..."I want a death by misadventure, wanna be in a bus that crashes into a train, just like Ozzy Ozborn! I wanna death by misadventure. Got no deathwish, suicde is bogus, this practical dude has some years to go!" (http://www.bobrivers.com/audiovault/tunes/tunes.asp?Var=D It is 7th one down "Boys! turn that "Guns and Butter" down! ) My book bag doesn't seem as heavy as it was before I was banded. (and I do almost all my walking with that bookbag) It doesn't hurt to stand at the sink when I do the dishes anymore. I believe it is because I can get closer to the sink because my tummy is smaller. I've lost an inch from my waist! Speaking of inches lost, I've lost a total of 23 from my entire body. CORRECTION! I didn't loose 43 inches, I lost 23 inches. I fat-finged, type-oh, wishful thinking, PEBKAC, I/O error... and the list goes on.

walked 40 minutes today, 20 crunches. Man, crunches sure don't feal right! It feels like there's soemthing in my tummy. Oh wait! There IS something in my tummy! ah ha ha ha ha. Anyway, it looks like I'm going to have to go slow and build up my crunches back to pre-op slower than I had expected.

I just tracked my calories for the last several days, and I haven't broken 900 calories. I probably won't break 600 today. I'm not hungry and I'm not tired. I'm still on mostly liquids, only now venturing into the wide world of mush.

21 pounds! I didn't want to go to the gym to weigh myself, because I was afraid I hadn't lost any weight last week, but I did, 9 entire pounds. I don't know where it came from though. I haven't lost a size. -

You didn't miss her, she's hiding from you! Ah ha ha ha ha. No, seriously I believe she's in the upper Mid-West, I think Wisconson, but I could be just making up that part. Actually, I think you just missed her. She posted earlier today. (I'm such a brat!)

weird LBT time/date stamp behavior
vinesqueen replied to vinesqueen's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I had no problems getting to the site. I just have this weird time/date stamp bug. -
Hey Gang, I've noticed something really weird with the time/date stamp behavoir. It started lastnight. Threads will show new activity when there hasn't been any new activity. The main page will show that so-and-so posted such-and-such, but when I get into the thread, that person hasn't posted. Anyone else seeing this? Firefox 1.0.2

Welcome back Will!

Hi Amber and welcome! Oh, yes, you should have seen me in my freak-out stage--I couldn't have been wound tighter than that one night! Hard to believe that night was just 3 weeks ago! oh yes, if I let myself think about the fact I need to loose about 100 pound.. well, that seems pretty unrealistic. Instead, I am focusing on loosing sizes, and then I'm just focusing on just loosing one size at a time. I have my ultimate goal size in mind, but only in the back of my mind.

The brand Worldwide Pure Protein shake has 35g protein and doesn't take bad at all. I get them at Trader Joe's, but I'm sure they are available at other locations Their website is http://sportnutrition.com/ but only says to call them at 1-800-854-5019

I'm afraid I have to withdraw from this. I am in the process of trying to obtain a security clearance, and I've been advised to not pose for a naked calender. Although the look on my adviser's face when I told him what I was planning was priceless.

We have a Nordstrom Rack down the street from my house, so that is where I do most of my shopping for anything but jeans. Target just doesn't carry much in the way of business clothing.... Is a Rack available in your area? Kimberlilly, please post some of the "NO" dresses so we can play too! I think your idea about posting your top 3 choices is fun too!

If I was certian that it was truly one-way glass, then I'd use it. I would be fun to be inside and watch people. The windows on my apartment are tinted so they are almost one way. people walking right next to the windows can make out things that are right close to the window, but you have to work at it. I'm talking floor to celing almost the width of the room windows. Unless I got freaked out about people trying to peer inside...

Thursday will be here before you know it! You've certianly earned it! Wait, your Dr's name is Ponce de leon??? Oh that is wonderful! In almost all the after pix, people look years younger after they've lost a good hunk of weight

When my son was little he came in the house crying because one of his little playmates would never HAVE a fat mamma. He was quite distressed about it....

New yummy recipes for mushy stage and beyond
vinesqueen replied to hagerteresa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
okay Teresa, you inspired me. Here is what I've been living on for most of the week... Broccoli soup ½ onion Garlic Butter or olive oil Broccoli Salt 1 tsp (or to taste) Spice to taste (I've used basil, chipolte and Herbs de Provence (the lavender is wonderfully delicate) in different batches.) Milk or stock spiced Sausage (if desired) cheese (if desired) Sauté onion and garlic until soft and translucent. Add thawed vegetables, cook until soft on low heat. Add salt and spices. Add milk or stock. Cook until desired consistency. For variation, add a sliced spiced sausage before you add the vegetables, or instead of using broccoli, use broccoli, cauliflower and carrot frozen mixed vegetables. Add your favorite cheese to finish. For liquid stage, use a stick blender to completely liquefy soup.
