Oh Joan! I cannot imagine how you feel! I had my car broken into and I felt terribly violated, I cannot imagine the scale of something like this.
-
okay, walked and walked and walked since my last post Horseback riding again, didn't fall off, or anything. I did get a little freaked out when one of the horses I was riding was starting to freak out because one of the mares was in heat... Yikes! Of course, when I dismounting one of the horses, my bra got caught on the pommel an I was stuck! I'm standing on the tippy toes of my new cowboy boots because the horse is tall, I am not, and I'm trapped by my bra!

I sure hope that Katie feels much better!

Amber, I started doing small amounts of crunches by the end of my second week. I don't know if you use one of the large excersize balls, but some of our folks use the ball. They find it more comfortable than the floor

Congrats Doll! This is great news!
-
Jody, I still cannot sit in some of the desks at school. The edge of the desk presses too much in a couple of my classes. It should get better as I loose weight and as I heal more. Cheers!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! You know I am!

brrrruuuckk bruuck bruuck

Hey Kendra, it looks liek you had the bruse for a while, given the yellow color. It is possible that the bruse just took a while to surface. When my bruse finally surfaced it had started to change color already

Hey Flower, man this question is more difficult than you realize, at least for me to answer! The fullness is ... satisfaction perhaps? I'm new at this feeling full thing myself. The first few times after eating mush I realized that I was full after it was too late. I learned that I have to stop eating before I feel full. It was uncomfortable, but not painful in anyway.

Welcome Nettie! while I cannot speak to your questions, I think Jenna is right, that these should be discussed with your MD. But I am sure we have had folks with similar issues, so feel free to do a search on both those topics! Cheers and Welcome!

Hey Isa, First off, what is normal? I don't know if it is normal or usual, but I lost about the same ammount of weight in the same ammount of time. Most of mine was Water weight, but yippi! that means no more edema, especially no more edema in my lungs. I'm not sure your diet is normal, but if that is what your dr recommended, then that is normal for your Dr. We are looking forward to those pix!

Who are you and what have you done with my wife?
vinesqueen replied to Alexandra's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Nope! not going to give you three or four years. You're Sexy now! Our brain is the most important sex organ, not the dangly bit, not the hidden bits! Give yourself the positive affermation "I am sexy!" and tell yourself this several times aday. Don't wait, because you truely are a sexy mamma, and you deserve the best the Universe has to offer! -
Hey Katie, you are in our thoughts! Sending you tons of whitelight to help speed your recovery! Thank-you Katie's DH, we appreciate the update!

Apple juice never did anything for me, infact, pectin from apples helps folks who have diareah... Prune juice is a great suggestion, but frequently doen't do the whole trick for me. I'm a few weeks ahead of you Kathy, and I've moved to metamucile. I think I'll have to switch to benifiber though. the metamucile makes me feel full.

Hey Flower, I really think most of the world just doesn't have a clue, and the clue truck never stops at their house. When my DH was doing the work-up for his band, the cariologist said he didn't think Mike needed the Band. He actually said to my 600 pound husband "have you just tried cutting out sweets?" *sigh* One of my friends is on a perpetual diet, and is always talking about how much weight she's lost. But whenever I mention that I've lost X amount of weight, she quickly changes the subject. She's something like a size 4 while I'm something like a size 24... Your friend may simply be uninformed about the real issues with diets and weight loss/gain. Frequently people we care, and who care about us, don't fully understand our demons.

has anyone heard of Bio Centric IntraGastric balloon
vinesqueen replied to deyanne's topic in Gastric Balloon Forum
Hey Dee, nope, I've never heard of this! If it really works, then it would offer hope to folks who aren't yet MO -
Yup, higher testosterone baby! I believe that is why my sex drive is so high, but also why I'm more assertive than most women. And of course, women who stand up for themselves, or who refuse to roll over for men are almost allways described as bitchy. Cousins on both sides of my family are really into geneology, so not only am I a bitch, but I am a pedagreed bitch!

Excellent start! You know we are pulling for you!

I do lots of crunches, and my port is just above my belly button... No problems a-tall!

As always, Donali is sooo right! I hadn't even though to recommend a night class to you Lisa-- I think that is a F-A-B idea! I haven't been banded long enough to have been really "changed" as most people understand the context. I haven't used my inhaler for WEEEKS now! Not a squeek, not a wheeze! I remain dilligent in carring my puffers with me, but I honestly don't remember the last time I used one! This is a dramatic change for me, since before I was banded I was using my inhalers far too often, and using the nebulizer several times a week. After losing close to 200 pounds, I don't think my husband has changed. I think he's gone back to being the very big guy I married.
-
And then, of course, there is my son. When he was five, he came in absolutely heartbroken because one if his little friends would never ever have a fat mamma.

Bumping for Nykee.

Thought Bandster who struggle like me would enjoy this story
vinesqueen replied to tmarie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
DH stands mostly for Dear Husband. I started a thread about him called "my dh is t-bone" under the lounge area. I'll bump it for you. He's been banded almost 2 years. -
Okay, just the though of going to the dentist makes me queezy. I broke a temp crown the weekend before I was banded, so I had to go to the denist a couple of days after I was banded to get the new crown seated. No special precautions were taken, and there was no problem with the gas either!
