Trying to decide if I need fill number 3
vinesqueen replied to Emmy27's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
yup, I agree, if you are losing the 1 to 2 pounds a week, you are right on target! because you are excersizing you are probably more hungry than if you were not working out. As always, please use your favorite calorie counter to track your food for a couple of days. (I like this one : http://www.caloriesperhour.com/ ) -
My DH was banded before I was. I believe I did the happy dance when he told me he was getting the Band, or at the very least, I danced a quick jig

For most women, 1200 calories is a good goal to shoot for. If you are training for a marathon or working really hard phyically, you might need more. If you are a couch potato, you might need less.

Put your hands up and step away from the spoon!

Yeah, the steroids do me in too. I equate ice cream with love, or feeling loved. So I'm hosed big time. I find I'm fine, generally, unless I buy the Starbucks Mudslide. And then the game is all over. Where is Greg anyway? I miss him -
I too find my bra riding on one of my new scars, the one where they put the band in... I just slug the liquid tylenol down

Yay! Tina got her ba-and! Tina got her ba-and! -
Hey Mayra, I believe it means she's transitioned to solid foods. Some of us have four stages, some three, it all depends on how you define your food groups. Hope that helps!

Woot! This is great! As you know, my PE class this semester is basic horsemanship, and I can really understand your excitement! okay, you haven't lived until you've saddled a strange horse in a thunderstorm! (my big adventure on Tuesday!)

Tonight I was teasing my DH about new clothes. I figure that by the time the fall semester rolls around I’ll have dropped enough weight to become a svelte size 18. If/when that happens, I will definitely need new clothes. Probably not much, but some new clothes. He told me that I will have to get rid of a big whack of the clothes that are currently stuffed into my dresser before I can get new clothes. The thought of getting rid of the “extra” clothes sent me into a near panic. I don’t consider myself to be a clothes horse by any means, but I have a lot of clothes I used to fit into and figure that I will fit into once again. (yeah, a pipe dream.) The last time I lost any serious weight, I gave away all my “fat clothes” but of course, I gained back all the weight I’d lost. I’m terrified that if I give away the current batch of “fat clothes” I will have to go right out and buy more because this band thing probably won’t work for me. (Yes I know, I’m big on irrational fears. But given my history, this probably isn’t such an irrational fear.) So, folks who are facing this same thing, how are you dealing with it or how did you dealt with it? Did you give away all your things with a song in your heart, or are you hording your clothes still? I am a food hoarder, and now it looks like I am a clothes hoarder too.

No getting busted naked stories. Although when I as in Spain I did sunbathe topless. Other tourists thought I was German. When I was 20 some cops wanted to bust me for breaking curfue. I had just gotten off work and was walking across the street to catch the last bus home. I was also paying the bus fare for a 16 year old girl who'd spent all her money on video games... The cop wanted to run me to juvie-hall and just would not believe that I was 20. Made me give him my mother's phone number to find out why I was out so late ... After my mom convinced him that I was actaully over 18, he decided that he was going to arrest me for "contributing to the delequency of a minor." He couldn't explain how my making sure that young woman made it home safely was contributing to her delequency .... So he made us miss the last bus home. We ended up catching ride from some meth dealers the young woman knew... Crazy world, crazy world... ( didn't want to walk the 15 miles home )

definately contact your dr and pharmasist to see if you can get a smaller pill or a different compound. I don't have experience with either of those med, but I take meds for my asthma in the eveing. I find that warm things help prevent pills getting stuck. (not a happy time with stuck pills...) Be sure to drink plenty of Water or other liquid after taking the pills to prevent irritating your pouch!

because you diaphram has been man-handled, it is brused and out of sorts. It will keep you from being able to get a comfortable deep breath for several days. If you are having difficulty breathing to the point of it interfearing with your speach, you need to have that checked out ASAP. Asthma is a life-threatening condition. If you are sounding like that kid from "Malcom in the Middle", it is time to go to the ER!

I couldn't play to win I have 28/30 tops to 18 pants... Oh! I have that "haut cature" Vintage 1950's Miami beach wear dress that is about a size 12. I will have to dig it out when I get home and look it over.. My goal is to wear that dress! (It is green and pink, and so I have fantasies about it being an authentic Lilli Pulitzer... )

Back pain- is this a slippage?
vinesqueen replied to mannyfromaus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I get that pain just from muscle spasms. Do you have a "knot" or lump in your back? For me, it comes on suddenly, but is no way related to my band. -
Does anyone else still wish to be "voluptuous"?
vinesqueen replied to Kendra's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
HAHA HA HA HA! Too funny! For some reason Pat, your comment remended me of that cheesey pick-up line in the late 70's... "Hey Baby, what's your sign?" ---my answer? "Dangerous Curves Ahead" -

Oh yes, I will still be curvey. I believe women should be curvey. -
Need encouragement, Tell me why it has been good for you
vinesqueen replied to a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Pally! First off, it saved my marrage. My DH weight 600 pounds before he got his band. He's now lost just about 200 pounds. I believe it has saved my life. Before I was banded I was spending a lot of time in hospital and in the ER with breathing problems and asthma. In serious risk of resperatory failure. I've been banded for just over 5 weeks, and haven't needed any of my inhailers for 4 weeks. This has been the best my breathing has been in years. -
oh, and I'm confused, do you only weigh 224 or is that how much you want to lose? (heh, how many times has someone said "do you only weight...?" heh) Just as a bit of perspective, my DH weight 600 pounds when he was banded. (he's on a plateau after losing about 200 pounds.)

DallasDoll honeeey! I'm so sorry you got flamed by that RNY person. ((((((Hugs))))) She has no idea what she's talking about. Reminds me of the story of the Fox with no Tail. ... anyway, you have come to the right place for support! Only fluffy bunnies here, and the occasionally freaked out Vinesqueen... Oh, but watch out for Zoe's size 11 butt kicking.. But only if you truely need it. Which you don't today!
-
Trish, you are not giving up food, you are just concentrating on liquids right now. (hope that perspective helps) ((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))

I'm stunned. I'm sorry, I don't know what to say.
