Trish is getting her ba-and! Trish is getting her ba-and!

Yup, this is the right place to vent about this! Your other friends will of course be sympathetic, but they won't really understand the same way. Your health is paramount, but unfortuantely, waiting for medical test results can be the ultimate test of patience! Hang in there, vent if you need!

Welcome to the Banded Gentry NYgrl! I don't think you sound crazy, I get that same feeling when I have a bit of gas... But when I describe it that way, people do look at me like I'm nuts... You've just had a major surgury! give yourself permission to pamper yourself, and let that house work go for a couple of days! You should start feeling much better in the next couple of days.

I didn't go to the consultation or the seminar with my DH when he had his band. I did go to one of the "Soup Nights" support goup nights, but I was quickly overwhelmed and had a panic attack. My DH wanted to do this on his own. I didn't go to any of the seminars. In my case, I wouldn't have learned anything about at the seminar because my DH had been such a model patient. He did go with me to my consultation. He offered to not go, but I couldn't imagine him not going through the process with me. We have a very open relationship. (No Delarla, not THAT kind of open relationship ) I tell him about all the boys that flirt with me when I go to frat parties... He even knows how much I weighed at my highest.

I'm sooooooo kinda envious! I won't get my first fill unil the middle of May! Great news about your -30! That is terrific work! And yes Dixie, you can still have wine do a search on "wine" and you will see several threads on the subject of drinking. I'll just sit here and whine some more -
Hippo birdies Michelle! I've seen you pix, you may be a year older, but you look years younger!

If there no such thing as the lap band, I wouldn't have had any sort of WLS. I don't want my insided messed with. The other surgeries were a no starter for me. One of my friends is looking at one of the by-passes, but it makes me cry thinking of all the risks he is opening himself up to... like death.

Actually, that is just an urban legend. http://www.snopes.com/toxins/plastic.htm I checked with snopes, and they said it was false. For all of you that don't know, snopes is one of the best site for busting hoaxes on the net. My other favorite is Hoaxbusters http://hoaxbusters.ciac.org/ run by CIAC eeeewww Penni!

vinesqueen replied to guitarman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mark, when you go to the Faire, you might want to pack ahead and bring a can or two of protien shakes, just to make sure you have something band friendly. -
Trish, you are too dang funny!

I am so partial to most of the African coffees! And oooh aged sumatran..... My ex-H decided that I would no longer be drinking expensive coffee, I would only be drinking canned coffee like everybody else. He was gone within the week. Of course, one of the first things I did when I started my exhile was go to the 2 local coffee houses and ask about the availablity of African coffees. I thought the one guy was going to propose marriage then and there. Or at least, pledge his undieing love...

As you know, I've been teasing Penni about being being an internationally renoun super spy and celebrity pharmasist... {Dangeresque, Dangeresque} And because I'm especially clueless, it occured to me that this was a little too obsure for most folks. Sorry about that. This is one of the best sites on the net, IMHO... www.homestarrunner.com This one introduces the fabulous TROGDOR! http://homestarrunner.com/sbemail106.html (I've gotten two different teenaged boys to do a spit take by singing the Trogdor theme song... ) Trogdor has also been mentioned on Buffy the Vampire Slayer... This one specifically deals with the entire Dangeresque theme. http://homestarrunner.com/sbemail106.html You can easily spend an hour on this site!

Ye Gods! No! I did crack my sinuses once, and other times I've ended up with genrealized brusing round my nose, but a torn muscle????

perhaps you have an alergy Denise?

Hey Nick! My DH has been banded for two years and it really hasn't affected our dining experience much. (occasionally he will have a BP and will need to make a hastie retreat to the rest room...) It will give you the perfect excuse to linger over a dinner now. Change is hard for many people, fear of the unknown... There are several people here who have had discussions with their SO about this.

oh Kendra, very sorry you had your first golfball... and at a Renfaire! At least it was after hours... I know what it's like being on site, and not being able to have what you need. It isn't like you can easily just go out and get something bandster friendly. Next week, you will just need to remember to bring some band friendly foods. You did the best you could, right?
-
Dallas honey, once you get your fill, I believe your attitude will change I am only now starting to be hungry, and won't get my first fill for a month. I have, however, lived with my husband's band for the last couple of years.... Oh yeah, you will be needing the baby bite

Thanks Penni. It does give one some thing to think on.

Canned coffee??? (not so much mock horror Pat...) I believe canned coffee is illegal in Seattle... I grind fresh beans every morning A friend mails me fresh Starbucks every month... I AM A COFFEE SNOB! And never, ever spenda in the coffee!

Job offer in Africa - food question
vinesqueen replied to Road Queen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My university has an African night every year, and the food is just great. One of my mush/soft favorite foods is an African dish called Irio... One the great things about the band is that we generally don't have any weakness from it, per say. Yeah, we ALL want to know about this job!
