    Denied a 2nd time

(((((((((((((((Christina!))))))))))))))))) And what the hell does "in a row" mean anyway? And you are one of the low BMI folks too. I'm sooo sorry! Yeah, insurance companies have turned agravation into an art form. This is my stupid insurance company example: I was driving home from my folks' place when I noticed the back door wasn't shut all the way, I got out, put my hand on the door to push it shut and somehow in the process I hurt a tenden in my thumb. I went to the DR, she refered me to a hand specilaist, but it too 2 months for them to approve the request. When I fianlly did get in to see him, he said I should have been in a cast. To add insult to the injury, the insurance company denied my claim, saying it was a CAR ACCIDENT and that I would have to have it paid by the car insurance policy. That insurance company just laughed at me. I forget how I finally paid the bill, but still! I can only imagine how frustrated and pissed off you are. (((((((((((((((((hugs!)))))))))))))

    things to never do...

Hey Char, I was back at school in a week. I was very tired for a couple of weeks myself, so I took it very easy. I had my band installed over spring break. I'm still not comefortable in the desks, but by next fall, look out for the new and improved me! This week is "dead week" then finals, then home for the summer!

Day 10 and all of a sudden starving?

Hey Nygrl, you probably had edema (swelling) around your stomach from the surgery, and now that the edema has gone you are hungry. Perfectly nomal. I hope that answers your question.
  9. It's ok NYgrl, this is the place to come and vent your worries. We won't brush them off. You probably still have a lot of gas issues going on. I know that many people here have had real issues with gas. I know that when I have gas issues, sometimes I get that same "baby in the belly" feeling. In addition to the gas, you are still very swollen from the surgery--your innerds are probably still in a panic. You just had major surgery and now you have extra "stuff" for your body to worry about. And as for feeling like you have a big ball, it might be your port as Corgi suggested. I know my port is 4 fingers wide.

Just banded YESTERDAY and in HORRIBLE pain!

Hi Starbright, my banding was smooth as silk. The worst pain I had was from menstral cramps. My DH only had some swelling issue, but no real pain.

Oh, there is also the language thing.. I think it sounds like you already know what is best! I think it is a wonderful idea to take a break for a while. After my first marriage broke up I took some time off to figure out who I was as just "Crystal." Not "Crystal and boyfriend." It was one of the best things I ever did for myself. It gave me time to figure out what I wanted, as opposed to what the collected relationship wanted. Or needed for that matter. You are entering a new phase of your life, and it may be worth the investigation. After all, if it really is the real thing with Sergio, he will wait. If he doesn't, well, you didn't want him anyway.

    things to never do...

no, I'm still awake. Still thinking that I'll never sleep again. But the good news is I just spent 11 hours on accounting homework. and watching old movies in TCM. I would have hated to spend that time doing something frivolous like playing video games or drawing... it comes down to drinking more coffee since it is 9:00 am ..... I am sooo glad it is Saturday!

    driving home

You mean, right after the surgery or the next day? You aren't driving anywhere that day! I belive you would be impared under any country's laws. Some doctors don't want you to drive for several days. Riding as passenger, is a different story

Gee, what a tough decision. I agree with Jenna, I think there must be a cultural reason. If you were to marry this man, you would be also marring his family. This is true for all marrages, but in this case it was be very close, perhaps too close for your comfort. Some people never move away. Ever. One of my sisters-in-laws still lives with my in-laws, she has never, EVER moved out. I believe her level of matureity reflects this. She will be 41 this summe. One of my cousins still lives at home with his Mommy. He's 42. I was engaged to a perfectly lovely man from Turkey when I was your age. Unfortuantely, well, he was Turkish. Very traditional, and well, I'm anything but. This was also a huge bone of contention between my ex-husband and me. He wanted me to be a little stay-at-home-wifey, and well, a two year old cannot provide me with the intelectual stimulation I require. (He couldn't either, but that is another matter.) (For all our stay-at-home-moms, I respect your decision-- it just wan't the right decision for me)

    This weeks Bandsters 4/25-4/30

Welcome to the new crop of Bandsters! It would be getting crowded, except we are all getting smaller! Breathing deeply might be a bit uncomfortable, but your diaphram is probably still very sore. It just isn't used to being moved and shifted! But it is very important to try so you don't get any lung issues.

Recovery Time - work and motorcycling

I was back in classes a week after my surgery. I was still a bit tired after a full day, but I had other stuff going on too, non-band related. I was riding horses two weeks after my surgery. And a bike is much easier... for one thing, you don't have to clean a bike's feet before you can ride it! I wouldn't want to pick up either one though... That would be the biggest concern as far as I'm concerned. (of course, horses are self righting. )
