Yay, one of those silly personality quizzes! Click "What kind of dog are you" in the lower right of this page: http://www.gone2thedogs.com/ I am a Standard Poodle... Personality Intellignet and fun loving (hou'd have to be, looking like that) the Standard Poodle is a real athlete - good at hunting and swimming. Happy, good -tempered and lively, this animal is camp on four legs, (and a fancy coat). The only downside is that the Poodle like to look good and demands a serious grooming every six weeks.

oh yeah, did I mention NO MORTGAGE?

oh Paula, ((((((Hugs)))))), you silly, silly woman! Of course you are doing the right thing. It's a little known fact, but kids are actually made out of a super bouncy substance that only looks like skin! Why do you think they can fall without getting hurt? They are amazingly resilliant critters. Don't make me get Zoe's boot... HELLO! NO MORTGAGE!!!!! Okay, yes moving is stressful, and children express stress by crying. Heck, I express stress by crying. Moving is strange, and they have to leave all the things they are familier with behind. In fact, moving is one of the most stressful events in a person's life. But, there is good stress and bad stress, and we need all sorts of stress in our lives. I tell my son all the time that I have to mess him up somehow, just so he will have something to talk to his therapist when he's older. (he says I have to try harder apperently) In the last 15 years, I moved my son at least 8 times... Besides, they can always visit their friends, right? So, Paula, what does it feel like to not be raised by wolves?

why would you think these were a no-no? There are no foods forbidden, we are not "dieting." I was told that on the morning of my surgery that if I had gum or mints they would cancel the surgery, but it has nothing to do with being "commited" to the band, just a safety thing. You can't eat or drink anything within so many hours of surgery.

Kathy, it just doesn't seem fair that you don't get food of your choice... A nice bowl of chili... Actually, only wheat has gluten. I haven't had trouble with rice, but my DH has a heck of a time with it.

I dunno about you Trish, but all my paint is in tubes! I would have thought paint would be well into the mush stage, definately not liquid stage! That would be the case for the oil, acrilic and watercolors. Oh, and the paint I use when I stencil comes in pots, so that would have to wait unitl the solid phase... Maybe "paint thinner" consistancy instead??? Perhaps it should be "thinner than paint" instead??? Hugs Trish! Only teasing you!

You didn't say how long this was going on. If it has just been a couple of days, then you need to get checked for strep, especially if this is something that the neighbor kids have. My son is espeically suseptable to strep... Don't take any chances with strep

no pre-op diet for me. I had sushi and sashimi

Monday and Tuesday: walked for 40 minutes both days, did 50 crunches Monday, worked with horses yesterday, 3 hours. Surprisingly, I didn't get hurt when I was thrown off one of the horses... (it was just that sort of day)

oh dear! My DH would get terrible cellulitus before he got his band! I sure hope it is NOT cellulitus! Not anything to mess around with. Have her call a band dr right away!

Blue Bell Ice Cream Hell!!!!!!!!!
vinesqueen replied to guitarman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Without a spoon? NOOO PROBLEM MAN!!! You simply peel the carton away and eat it like you would a cone. Or you use the lid. Ice cream = love And that is the hardest bond to break. -
I went grocery shopping the next day. My worst pain was from my period, which started a few days after the surgery...

Very Glad you are feeling better Corgi!

I had great restriction for the first 5 weeks after getting my band. I'm now in my 6th week and I have been really hungry. I don't eat as much as I used to, but I don't have any restriction at all now. I'll get my first fill in a couple of weeks when I got home for the summer

Yikes Tammy! yeah, here at Camp Maggot will give you a PT pass! ((((((hugs))))) I will have to wait until Friday when I get paid to get a new pedomiter. (I'm a student on a *very* fixed income) This will be my 4th since December... Perhaps I'm breaking them on purpose?

When was the last time you had a professional body fat mesaurement taken? It may be that your fat% is right where it should be. I know that you said your surgeon said you had at least 15 pounds of skin that will go when you have your procedures done. Throw your scale off Lisa's balcony, have that professional body fat test done, and have your plastic surgury! I know you have been agaonizing for months over this. (((hugs))) Time to act!

I need to invest in someone who will do the dishes! I really enjoy cooking, but the cleaning part---ugh!

Part of the dreded hair is due to the trama of the surgery, not a nutrishinal issue. Just about any time the body has something tramatic to it, it will drop some "useless" function, like hair. A couple weeks out of my surgery I started to loose my hair like crazy, and yes, I was more than a little freaked out. But the same thing happened to me after all my surgeries. It grows back, yes it does!

I am currently missing my fried egg sandwiches with a glass of milk. I've never been much of a milk drinker (I was raised by wolves...), but there is just something about the combination of this sandwich and a glass of milk....

*sigh* I broke my brand new pedometer. It recorded 3000 steps, but then I broke the back. *sigh*

No cathater for me or my DH. It's only a very short procedure... They just made sure I went potty before they gave me the sleepy meds

I had issues with the tape and glue, but I have very sensitve skin. My skin was irritated for weeks, infact the extra redness just disaperared/faded this last week. Could the itchies be the normal itchies from healing? I had that too. Some people itch more during this phase than others, and at 3 weeks, I was itchy too, but I know that is normal for me.

Hi KellyK, I've only been nausious once since having my band installed, and it had nothing to do with my band. I have yet to have a PB or a slime attack. I have had food and meds get "stuck" though. That was just a bit painful. I haven't noticed nausia being a big problem for bandsters on this board. Maybe y'all need to hang out here instead? When I need Imatrex I always have it injected, so that isn't an issue for me. I take one med that requires it to be taken with food, so you know that has to be annoying to the pouch. after I take the meds, I try to always drink a big glass of Water to wash it out of my pouch.
