Today I wore a pair of jeans I haven't been able to fit into since 2002. Today I walked 15 minutes to and from the restaurant for lunch, and I wasn't winded, and I didn't need my inhailer. Today I took a walk with my son and he had to tell me to slow down (of course the silly boy wasn't wearing any shoes...) Today I went grocery shopping after work, and then DID NOT collaps on the sofa all night.

Thermacare heat wraps are a gift from the goddess. Be careful with them, you might burn your tummy. I wear the wraps generally on the outside of my panties and sometimes they still get too hot, but you know what? When I use these I usually don't need any other pain killer. None. It's Thermacare wraps for me, or hydrocodone because I have really bad cramps. If you have to take the pills, make sure you drink a big glass of Water with it to wash it out of your pouch.

I was banded in March, and initially lost 25 pounds really quickly, but I don't think I've lost much since then. But you know what? I'm okay with it. This isn't a race. I recnetly got my first fill, and it has made a lot of difference in how I feel. Before I got my band, I don't think I would have been able to do any of those things. The scale lies. And as for your food. Well, every day is a new day. Tomorrow morning, eat your solid protein first (or after your coffee, which ever works better for you... ) At lunch have a good bandster meal with your hard protein first, your veg next. Drink your 64 oz of water have a good banster dinner. Be kind to yourself. Most importantly, be kind to yourself.

Can you gain a pound if you dont eat a pound?

Jack's answer was quite concise. I'm off percacets -
different people have different standards, but I dont' call them rules. Some people stop drinking 30 minutes, some don't. Different of philosophies. I drink water right up until I pick up my spoon or fork. However, the longer you can keep from drinking after you eat the better. I try to wait about 90 minutes after eating to keep my pouch full longer. I am not always successful, but that is what I try to do.

I love wearing jeans, and not so much business clothes. I haven't been asked the dreaded pregger question in a long time, knock on wood... Of course, even when I was preggers I didn't look it for the most part. Heh, I was trying to navagate my pregnant self accross a crowded coffee shop and tried to get around some older crusty guy. I excused myself and asked if I could get by. He laughed at his cronies and said, "what, are you pregnant or something?" I BURST into tears and said yes, I was. Heh, he felt like the jerk he was.

Oh my gawd Kathy, I was laughing so hard I was snorting! I would have posted sooner my appology, Gaynor, but I was a little embarrased that I'd assumed you were a guy.

Today was my first day in a week and a half without any narcotics. Hurrah for me. I can't tell you wants wrong because the Dr.s haven't figured it out. Personally, I think I have just experienced the wonder of a ruptured ovarian cyst. Not one of the 4 different Drs have called it that. They said "unspeicified pelvic pain with unusual bleeding." I've had a "significant" cyst for more than 3 months. Then suddenly, I don't have the cyst, but so much pain I'm puking all over. So much pain that IV pain meds in the ER just take the edge off the pain. But you know what, if it walks like a duck.. Anyway, they don't knwo what's wrong with me. They have scheduled surgery for the end of next month. My sister and sister-in-law are pushing me to have the big H, but I would need so much counceling for that. I figure that if I don't have my girl parts I wouldn't be a girl any more.

I think I met a male Gaynor in my younger days... although I probably made that up. You know, for the life of me, I can't figure out why Kathy and I both thought you were a guy. Probably because your screen name is "G Curtis" and Curtis is not an uncomon guy name. Sorry about that.

Welcome Jamie. -
Sorry Eric, but by the very nature of "offering your services" you are advertising. It's a by definition thing.

800 calories is not enough. If you are still doing baby food, you are still probably in the healing stage. You need more food... and Water

when I was a baby I insisted that vienia sausages were baby candy, and that sugar candy wasn't good for babies. They are still known as "baby candy" in our family... I like liverworst blended with cream cheese and some spices, depending on my mood...

Welcome to the Band Wagon! I'm not sure I understand your last question. The full feeling feels the same... If you are asking about "when to stop" then that is as varied as the person asking the question. Anyway, Huzzah!

Hurrah Corgi! You are doing great! Adding excersize is probably always a good idea, but "behind schedule?" (looks perplexed...) what an odd concept.

Super glue and tape.

okay, had to finally actually find out. Main Entry: lb Function: abbreviation Etymology: Latin libra pound www.m-w.com is my favorite online dictionary. dictionary.com has too many pop-ups to make me happy. When I actaully need to find the etimology of a word, that's where I generally go. Main Entry: et·y·mol·o·gy Pronunciation: <TT>-jE</TT> Function: noun Inflected Form(s): plural -gies Etymology: Middle English ethimologie, from Latin etymologia, from Greek, from etymon + -logia -logy 1 : the history of a linguistic form (as a word) shown by tracing its development since its earliest recorded occurrence in the language where it is found, by tracing its transmission from one language to another, by analyzing it into its component parts, by identifying its cognates in other languages, or by tracing it and its cognates to a common ancestral form in an ancestral language http://m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?va=etymology

my pain from my band was less than my cramps from my period. Easy-peasy.

Green Day rocks! Kathy, remind me again who's on narcotics? 47lb translates to fourty-seven pounds, "lb" being the standard abrieviation for imperial "pounds." I haven't been able to trace the etimology of the "lb" abriviation however. (I have to confess, I haven't put much effort into it either....)
