I had so much stuff on the shelves in my bathroom, there was one shelf for sheets and towels. One little shelf, and the other 4 were full of ... stuff. Now I have 2 shelves for towels and linens. So, not only do I horde, but my DH hords as well. Not going to be easy I suspect

Hah! I had access to a T3 line for on one job, oh mama! But I also had a dual proc box too... Kathy, Internet Explorer, IE is part of your operating system, and doesn't have anything thing to do with your ISP. You will probably have to change your e-mail address, but your current provider/new provider should provide a forwarding service for a while.

Habit is habit and not to be flung out of the window by any man, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time. Mark Twain. This is the exact quote. Oh sure, it's my current sig, but my quote changes all the time

What is your opinion on the weight loss of the movie stars?
vinesqueen replied to Iluvharleys's topic in The Lounge
I think they probably werr heavier than what they claimed, but posting my top weight was increadably difficult to own up to. And I'm not a publicfigure. Of course, they could both be really tall, and thus cary their weight differently. I mean, they are larger than life, right? -
Oh, I used to get into all kinds of trouble for stealing bits of ground beef from the fridge when I was small. I love raw beef. When I make stroganauff at my mom's place, I always gross her out by eating bits of the steak raw. Yummy. And what's wrong with onion? It could be that your grandpa wasn't eating plain white onion, it could be that he was eatting a sweet Walla Walla. Even my non-onion-eating Spud will eat sweet Walla Wallas. Again, yummy. BeautifulTina, I'm not sure how you will deal with some meats if you don't like condiments. Some foods just must have food-lube, aka sauce.

Do you think you'll be satisfied when you reach goal?
vinesqueen replied to Parvathi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ah yes, body dysmorphia. What an evil little social malady. Yes, the media is definately one of the culprets, but I think we have to look at the role the billion dollar diet industry plays in this. They are invreably invested in making us feel like crap. Size 10 isn't good enough, you too can be a size 4 with the N*system--sure you'll endagner your gallbaldder, but you don't actually need one of them anyway... I believe people are easier to controll if they are depressed, feel bad, and/or have low self esteem. Part of it has to do with the intense focus on the scale and BMI. It doesn't take into account any differences in human phyology. When i was 18 I weighed 190 pounds and thought I was enourmously fat. I wasn't fat, I was a size 11/12. I was an athlete, but I couldn't recognize that either. I mean, fat girls don't get to be athletes. I don't have a goal weight. I have sort of a goal size, but all my goals are performance based. I don't let my current weight keep me from donig anything now, so I don't know that there will be much stopping me when I weigh 100-ish pounds less. I know now that my weight has been holding me back professionally. I figure that by losing my extra weight I'll remove an extra obsticle in my plans for taking over the world. -
*gasp* He lost an entire 18 pounds???? Alert the presses! Somebody call Oprah! Or maybe Jerry... People just don't understand what we have to deal with. For some of us, I think it is a complext matter, And not every one has the same complexities. One size fits all fits none. Thanks Darcey! I think you're pretty cool yourself, Will you be going to Vegas?

You schedule your time. I know how pressed your are for time, I'm a full time student and I work 20 hours a week as well. My baby is a little older than your's. Okay, a lot older than yours. the spring semester I spent 20 hours a week on just one class worth of homework. But always make sure I take a PE class every single semester. Since you are taking on line courses, you will probably need something a little different. Dance with your baby, even if you are just doing a two step shuffle. get an excersize dvd or tape. I recommend pilaties. Or belly dancing. Or both! walk in the evening, or walk in the cooler morning. House cleaning counts as excersize. Not that I particularly like this form.

Thanks Paula, just doin' my job, mam. The difference between dial-up and DSL is sort of like... the difference between walking and jet powered rocket skates that are turbo charged. My apartment in ID can't get anysort of high speed connection. I'm in an old converted motel with non-standard wiring. Dial-up is painfully slow and I hate it. Sure, it is better than a sharp stick in the eye, but not by much.

don't run with scissors. Don't rollerskate in a buffolow herd. don't play with fire. Oh, wait, you were looking for adivice for your upcoming band, sorry, today I'm full of spit and vinigar. #1, start doing crunches. Not sit-ups, but crunches. Take a pilates class if you can find one. It will strengthen your core muscles and make your stronger, and your recovery easier. I'm convinced of it. #2, don't get into the "last mean" mind set. It's possible that you will still be able to eat what you loved before, but the band, she is a fickle mistress. #3 keep yourself busy. If you start a new hobby that involves using your hands, you won't have time to worry about the food you aren't eating, and your hands will be too dirty to eat anything anyway.

I thought that was what getting "stuck" did for us. the few times I've been really stuck, I knew I had to take smaller bites and eat more slowly!

My older sister could do the Peanut Butter diet without blinking. She loves it so much she buys the giant costco size and finishes the barrel, er jar. I just don't like it well enough, unless it has chocolate on it. I don't suppose that's in the diet?

spicy port and yakisoba. Left over lunch from yesterday. I don't think I'll go back to that place though.

Hi Babs! Nice to see your smiling face! Missed you. I use the clothes guage, but I also got myself a nifty little body fat % gadget. (call me gadget gurl) Once a month or so, I check my body fat %. It's slowly moving in the right direction, but I know this isn't a race. When I weigh myself frequently, I get very depressed about the numbers. I don't own a scale, and I don't want one in my house. Personally, I don't see how daily weighing can be truely benificial. I mean, I read it here all the time where someone 'gains 5 pounds overnight" and is understandably freaked out. Well, they didn't really gain 5 pounds overnight, probably a Water thing, but they are freaked out, and that is never a good thing. scales lie. Lie lie lie.

I'm not a closet bandster, I was outed, so there we are. If you are in the closet, any closet, I suspect that some day you will be outed. Maybe on purpose, maybe by accident. Mind you, I don't wear a sandwich board that reads "I've lost 30 pounds! Ask me how!" mmm, sandwiches People are funny, some times the folks we are sure will be the most supportive of us turn out to be real heels, while those we least expect will be our greatest supporters. I suppose lost friendships are no difference than other commited relationships that disolve after one member changes dramatically.

I've always gotten that "high and mighty' vibe from you Alex, so I can see where she's coming from ... (**insert big wink here**) A woman I've known for gosh, 8 years or so has dropped me since I got the band. When i was on my last supervised weight loss regeim, I lost a good amount of weight, didn't keep it off, but well you know the drill. Every time I mentioned my weight loss she would quickly, I mean quickly change the subject. But when it came to her diets, she would go on and on and on. She was an enormous size 10 when she started her diet and now she's a size 4 and looks terrible. She recently started to use a rowing machine and got really good at it, but because she built up her upper body and gained muscle mass, she's pissed off at the weight gain, so she quit so she could loose the weight she gained from rowing.

I didn't get any pix either. I do have a nice pix of my liver though from when I had my gall bladder out. I show it to my mom when I want to gross her out.
