If it's any help, I'll go scream with you.

Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear this. But like Jachut said, the advances they have made with vision care are amazing. I'm sure this will turn out okay, but I'm sure to that it must be terribly frustrating and hard for the both of you. I'll keep y'all in my htoughts...

I vote for avatars too. If I have to do it... you know the drill. Oooh, DeLarla, you should change your tag line to "bossy sassafrass"
-
all cleaned out. sorry about that

I think with Jack we have to say "please Jack, won't you post your picture?" We know what happened the last time he posted his pics...

One of the meds is an inhaled steroid, but I believe that it is not prednisone. I've been on prednisone so much that I have a standing prescription for it. I cannot even begin to express how much I hate it. That's one of the reasons I gained weight before my surgery.. I had to do a couple of different courses of it between the consult and the surgery. It's beyond frustrating when they tell you that you must loose weight, but then put you on drugs that are garenteed to cause you to gain weight. Oh, and 60mg is notthing compaired to what I would need to take. I suppose to chose weight gain over death. Funny how it got to the point where my weight was killing me. Maybe I don't own a metabolism any more. Thank-you Becky for your kind words. I hope you are tracking all your NVS, along with their date. My list of NSVs is often the only thing that keeps me going, the only think that keeps me from giving in and giving up.

Thanks Paula. So. I had my first fill at the end of May, beginning of June. I felt like I had good restriction. I was being the very best little bandster I could possibly be. Drinking my Water, eating small but sensible meals, walking everyday, running for the bus as needed. So, August comes around and I go to the doc's support meeting, for my official weigh in. I was down ONE pound from June to August. Do you now see why I had such a temper tantrum? I'm aware that it defies the law of not only physics but common sense to dramatically cut your caloric intake and still not lose any weight. But this is where I am. I am taking three different meds for my asthma still.

I say get a new port after you come back from your fab vacation. Go see Dr. Billy and get that restriction that leads to the weight loss we all crave.

What kinds of exercise do you do?
vinesqueen replied to Apryl Showers's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
well, that 5 minutes a day is probably just to get you started. I do crunches like a mad woman. I belly dance 2x a week and do pilaties 2x a week. I really really want a pilaties ball too. -
Had my gall bladder out about 7 years ago, was banded about 5 months ago. I had no problems a-tall
-
yeah, I think that fact that you are simply gorgeous had something to do with the boy-ohs. Simply gorgeous.
-
wow! great work! Geeze 2 hours a day? Amazing! Well, I'm off to my belly dance class. Have to deal with all the skinny dancers.....

vinesqueen replied to BeckyinTexas's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Becky! way to go gurl! You've done amazing work and you should be proud of it! -
Even as I type this she is going into surgery. (7:00 am PST) Everyone send her warm thoughts!
-
why are you having broth for lunch???
-
Not specificially one, but that doesn't mean we can't have one! The next time I'll be home will be Thanksgiving Week.
-
I went to the gym and had it done there. They used a scale, I'm betting it was one of the Tanya (sp?) brand ones. I don't own a scale, but I do own a body fat% meter.

Sending you warm and healing thoughts DVSABoss! Both my DH and I were both banded by Dr Watkins

I just took a stroll through the before and after pix. Not to be undertaken lightly with dial-up! Again and again and again, I am totally blown away by the years people lose with the weight they loose. Most people easily lose 5-10 years off their age! So, Michelle and Christine, after I lose my weight, how old would you say I would be? Trishie! You've lost so much in your face! Paula, either you've lost a ton of size, or your daughter has double in width! In the before it would take 4 of her to hide behind, but now only two! Amazing! Alex, I think you used a pix of your auntie! -
***blushing furiously!!!!!**** Oh for even doing the missionary...

How long should I be on liquids after a fill?
vinesqueen replied to Anwyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
First off, you are doing nothing wrong. Going back on liquids will solve nothing. Sounds like you are filled a bit too tightly. -
Okay, I'm joining even though I probably won't lose the weight. I start at 247. Here are my starting NSVs... this weekend after the Vegas Bash I had to tighten my seatbelt as opposed to asking for an extender. I just crossed my (explative deleted) legs!!!!!
