Purging my closet again - anxiety
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to eclipse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Maybe you can take some of the things you truly love to a good tailor. I am one of 7 children, so you best believe there was a lot of tailoring in my house. Once I get to that stage, the things that I LOVE, I will have tailored. The things I don't will be donated or given away. -
Worried about future wt loss
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to lpnurse2004's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds as if you are getting so far ahead of yourself. You really need to take this one day at a time. If you are eating right, exercising and putting your health first, how can you go wrong? Look at what you have accomplished in this short period of time. Stay in the moment, and leave the what if's for when they happen. Good luck to you. -
I think you need to do what's best for You. I sort of took offense to a poster who stated "He loved you fat, and how many men would do that" WTF?? As if that is so noble of him. As if he did you a favor because you were overweight. As if you were not a great catch because you were overweight. As if all of us who are overweight should be grateful for our husbands. He better be glad I chose to marry him, and he is!! My mother told me and all my sisters before we were married "Till death do you part" She said this means till death of the marriage, and sometimes the marriage dies before your physical bodies do. Good luck to whatever decision you make my dear.

Lying about Weight Loss Surgery !
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to sarahzamudio1091's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
newat52 My mother used to tell me when I was younger, "Don't go to class with all the answers, when you don't know the course materials". So when you approach a situation and you have the answers already, you can never truly "Learn" from that situation. I think we have a case of that here. -
Lying about Weight Loss Surgery !
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to sarahzamudio1091's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
People who pose these types of questions or statements, only want to hear "their" views echoed. So if you are not part of the echo chamber, you are just as flawed as their so called "Friends". -
Losing too fast?
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to kiki1196's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am curious to know how this PA was able to determine that you are losing muscle, without doing any specific diagnostic testing. -

Losing too fast?
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to kiki1196's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You had WLS and you're told 10 lbs is too fast?? He would freak if he watched the biggest loser. -
missmarie124 if mashed potato's are not on your approved list of foods, you should be careful about eating this. You are only 4 days out, you should contact your nutritionist before introducing these types of foods into your diet.

I am headed to the kitchen now, going to try it. Heaven knows it has to be better than yogurt. I will have it with plain Greek yogurt, mmmm will be like a baked potato with sour cream.

Head Hunger? For me it's real hunger, to go from a High Calorie diet to barely getting enough nutrition is not in my head. At least that's what my stomach is saying. I am mixing the protein powder in my yogurt, it takes forever to finish. Nothing tastes good right now

Things Are Starting To Get Real

I also made the decision in January 7th and I am 8 days post-op. I can say this was the best decision I have ever made, following marriage and children. -
Post op march sleevers
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to gelen's_change's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LaKimmie I know how you feel I tried watching that too, CRIED like a baby. I was like WTF? My mom came down to help with the kids while my Hubby is a work, she been scratching her head at me. This is all such a big adjustment, it truly is a life changing event. I have been going for walks with my Mom, it actually gives me time to clear my head. It's annoying that it takes 1 hour to eat a 1/2 cup of yogurt, but I just keep telling myself "Soon I will be happier and healthier" I just have to keep giving myself positive pep talks. Who knows by the middle of the week, I may be able to sit through Beyoncé documentary without CRYING!! -
8 days post opo
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to hjtj112's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't ever say you feel stupid, everybody was new at this once. I don't care if they were sleeved 5 years ago and are quite successful, they were new at this. I am just learning to listen to my body, something I never did before I just ate and ate and ate. Already I can try something and say it works or it doesn't. You have listened to your body enough to know that the meat thing isn't working now. Go to the nutrition section of the forum, you will find a lot of ideas on how to get protein in and recipes. -
8 days post opo
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to hjtj112's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been eating Greek yogurt, with fudge brownie protein added. I mix it in the blender. The taste isn't bad and I get the protein. Please call your nutritionist, sounds like your stomach is saying too much too soon. I hope that this helps. -

6 Days Post-Op
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to marlygirly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 6 days post-op also, I woke up today for the first time feeling extremely hungry. I had a few sips of broth and felt like I ate a BIG MAC. I find it difficult to get in all my fluids and proteins, but it is getting easier by the day. I am trying to focus on daily goals, rather than jumping so far ahead and worrying about stalls and will I drop 100 lbs in 6 months. I am truly taking this thing one day at a time. Marlygirly and newat52 congrats on your surgeries glad that you both are hanging in there. -
Ayla well wishes to you and may you have a speedy recovery. You should be relaxing and enjoying this time you have right now, because tomorrow will be a big day!! Congrats on all of the hard work that you have put in to get to this point. No more liver talk, think happy thoughts and skinny jeans Again well wishes to you Ayla.

I never had a preop diet, sailed through surgery without a problem. I would put little thought into this now, start focusing on yourself and the start of a new healthier life.

Any March Sleevers?
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to futuresleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try not to over do it today. The mag citrate depletes your electrolytes, so if it's on your plan try Propel Zero replaces anti-oxidants and vitamins and Gatorade 2 electrolyte replacement. They are not bad tasting either.
