  1. Full liquids for me was yogurt, oatmeal, creamed soups, cream of wheat, grits, protein deinks. When I was feeling my worst head hunger I would take New whey protein shots, they have 42 grams of protein on 8oz of fluid. You wont feel the head hunger as much. Also are you taking pevicid, Prilosec or nexium? They help with stomach acid which also feels like hunger pains.
  2. I remember my first week out was pure hell!! I just wanted to eat a burger or anything I could get my hands on. When some of the Vets would say "Head Hunger" I was like HOGWASH!! Slowly but surely I started increasing my protein intake and things turned around. Every 2 hours I eat whether I want to or not. Once your diet advances you will have a bigger selection of foods you can eat. Head Hunger feels real but it's not, just hang in there you'll make it. Laura-ven you always have such great advice you could charge good money. Next time me and the hubby have it out, I will have to consult you You do Pro Bono I hope
  3. Doesn't sound like a wise choice to be making one week post-op. I don't know of a Nutritionist out there who would think that this is a great food choice at this time in your weight loss journey. Those are empty calories low fat or not. If you are able try some Greek yogurt and add some chocolate protein powder, it's more filling and nutritious than chocolate ice cream. It's nice you came here to ask, because you don't want to self sabotage this early in the game. Well wishes to you.

    Any March Sleevers?

BigDaddyJoe how is your fluid intake? Also watch the sodium intake, you will hold on to water. I am not getting all of my fluids in, however I am restricting my sodium to the bare minimum, I am averaging a pound 1/2 lb to 1lb a day.

    what happens at pre op?

My physician weighed me, went over my LAB, EKG and EGD results. Told me what to expect before during and after surgery. He then allowed me to ask whatever questions I had.

    confession :(

You need to take the surgery seriously, you know you've done wrong. Get yourself together and follow your post-op instructions. That's the only advice I have for you. Oh and like soocalchic said a STALL is the last thing you should be worried about.

    Negative Boyfriend

You have to do what's best for you. With that being said, you wouldn't walk around in clothes that are 10 sizes too small. (least I hope you wouldn't) Maybe your guy has gotten too small for you, and it's time for a change.

    Sippy cup? Yes/no?

The OP said is the sippy cup like a straw? My response is "Yes it's like a straw". I too was told by my MD to not use staws, because of the possibility of getting air into my stomach or taking too much liquid in. Just clarifying my response.

    Sippy cup? Yes/no?

Yes it's like a straw, because the process to used to withdraw the fluid is a sucking motion. However the cup is cute.

Upping my water to lose some weight

Make sure to limit your sodium intake so you don't hold on to the fluid.

Anyone willing to post the pre-op diet?

I didn't have a pre-op diet, post surgery I do use Protein Blitz 30gm of protein per 20 oz. Also I use New Whey protein shots, they have 42gm of protein per 3.8 oz. Post surgery I would freeze the shots and it went down a lot faster and was easier to get in.

    the sleeve and reflux?

I had severe reflux and a large hernia, prior to being sleeved. My reflux was so bad that if I ate less than four hours before going to bed, I would wake up chocking on my own vomit. Since surgery, Nothing, Nada, Zilch!! I also had my hernia repaired during surgery, couldn't be happier.

    No Drinking with Meals!

Being newly sleeved I can speak to this experience, you probably won't be doing much drinking with meals. For me it's physically impossible and extremely painful. When you are hungry you can fill up on water or food. For me getting protein in is number one. Like another poster said, you won't be eating that much to get that thirsty. It's all just a learning curb, it won't take long for you to know your limitations.

    Post op march sleevers

I am 2 weeks post op down 19lbs, still having trouble with getting in my fluids. I also do the New whey protein shots, got mine from the vitamin shoppe. They are not the best tasting but the do the job. The thing that is Super Annoying is not being able to swallow easily, still forget sometimes I take a gulp and OUCH!! Also the restriction drives me crazy, sometimes I just want to eat and get it over with. Well I eventually finish eating a half of cup in 30-45 minutes. Hey there are worse things, it just a serious lifestyle adjustment that you only can realize after you have this done personally.

    I hurt my husband's feelings

Apologize, tell him you used the wrong words to get your point across. Do something nice and unexpected for him, let him know you care and you appreciate him. If that doesn't work smack him on the rear end, he may like that . Good Luck!!
  23. Another Texan here, just had surgery 2 weeks ago down 19lbs!! Although I am a registered nurse that works PACU/ER at a Center of Excellence, I still had reservations on the surgery for myself. I had to really think is this for me, once I said yes there was no stopping me. I must say this is one of the best decisions I have made, I have more energy and I am extremely optimistic. This site has boat loads of information, and the are a lot of veterans on this site who are supportive. Good luck to you c0c0, I wish you the best. what part of Texas are you from?
  24. Looking Babealicious, and yes that IS how jeans are supposed to fit!!
