Sadtosaygoodbye replied to bmbrush413's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I with you on this one!! I don't have a dog, but if I did my breath would be worse than his. My mouth tastes like I ate a big fat turd. And no, I have never really eaten a turd. -

I feel real hunger!
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to kari61's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kari61 please know that there is nothing wrong with you. When I was at this stage I also felt very very very hungry. The growling that I was feeling I couldn't tell whether it was gas or truly hunger. So if you aren't walking do try, also a acid reducer did help me. I started feeling less hungry once I was able to start more dense proteins like yogurt and cottage cheese and eggs.My doctor never told me that I shouldn't be hungry, that is an unrealistic expection. Am I less hungry than before surgery? Yes. Do I eat much less than I did before surgery? Yes. If you are at the full liquid stage add unflavored protein powder to your yogurt. During my first few weeks when I was feeling like this hunger/head hunger, as soon as I would eat I was full after a few bites. So don't panic know your'e not alone on this one, it does get better. Good luck to you -
stressed with anxiety ....help
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to yazzy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just know you are not alone on this, if you read theough some of the threads you will see this over and over. Just know the further out you get, the easier it does become. Just keep giving it your best effort, I am 4 1/2 weeks out and I am just now able to get in all my water and protein. I found it difficult at first because it's hard to want to eat and drink when #1 I have no desire and #2 it hurt when I did. Just hang in there it will get better, good luck -

Surgery for appearance alone?
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to Linkin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a BMI of 38 prior to my surgery, let me tell you there is nothing healthy about a BMI of 38. I am considered obese, and I looked obese and I felt obese. For me this was not about cosmetic appearences, this was about extending my life span. For me waiting to become more obese and more unhealty, was not an option I was willing to accept for myself. -
Maybe they are not food addicts, It may be their THYROID!! Yeah I see that qiute often "I dont have a problem with food" It's sort of like the BMI thing. "I am not as fat as the other person, my BMI is 40 and hers is a 55"

Protein in My Urine?
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to GoldyGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Goldygirl I have to agree with Johnlatte, the only medical advice I would take is that of my Physician. Your health and well being is too important, I am a RN I would never advise anyone on health related issues on this or any other forum. -

Probably the best person to ask, would be your physician. -
How are you able to drink all the liquid they recommend?
Sadtosaygoodbye replied to MOBD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Slow and steady wins the race, this unfortunately is a common problem we newbies have to overcome. -

Please don't worry about bougie and bougie sizes!! You will be having surgery by an experience MD. There are some people who believe in a one size fits all, this is sooo far from the truth. We are all different sizes and anatomy, the size of bouies differ by millimeters. It a guide the MD uses during surgery to form the sleeve. There have been long term studies that prove there is no difference in weight loss between 32F or 40F. This should be a time where you are researching this procedure, not worrying about bougies sizes. There are a lot of great vets on this site who will be eager and helpful on your journey, don't sweat the bougie stuff right now. I would be leary of any MD who let me pick a bougie. Good luck again on your journey -

Sadtosaygoodbye replied to sweetcurves3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just didn't understand your terminology of Obamacare plans. I work in a busy ER and we have been educating our patients on the Affordable Healthcare Act. It was just a case of I say Tamatoe you say Tamato. Thanks!! -
