11 weeks post surg before and after :)

I need a hysterectomy because simple hyperplasia. im wondering if my surgeon would do it even though hes not a gyno.... How did you get both? And congrats to you!
  4. I started the process July 17 2012 . I just got my surgery date yesterday. March 27 is the day. To get approved I had to do weekly weigh.ins with my PCP, cardiac clearance, ecg, Stress test, pulmonary Clearance, upper GI, abdominal ultrasound, psych eval, nutritionist clearance, monthly pcp visit to discuss diet and exercise for six months, physical, complete blood panel with urinalysis, two chest x-rays, and submit six months of daily food and exercise journals. All of this just to get approved by Blue Shield of California. you have to want this. It's a small price to pay For potentially adding years to your life. Plus I've been heavy a lot longer than the eight months it will have taken From initiating the process to the date of surgery.
  5. Best wishes to you and your daughter.
  6. I have California blue shield. There were soooo many hoops to jump through! 6 month weight loss with daily food/ exercise journals, weekly weigh ins at the doctor plus monthly physician visit. pulmonary function test, ecg, stress test, upper gi, abdominal ultrasound, chest xray, nutritionist clearance, psychiatric clearance, medical clearance (blood panel/physical). I had my first visit July 17. Glad all the pre op work was worth it and i finally have a date!
  7. Yay! I just got approved today!!!! Surgery the end of March. Whoooo hoooooo!
  8. Congrats! I was submitted six days ago to Blue Shield. Tick tock! Fingers crossed!
  9. Im just wondering how you handle the lifting restriction. I don't have a date yet, but hopefully soon!

    Any post-oper's with toddlers?

Wow a c section was harder??? I've had 4 so hopefully this will be a walk in the park!
  12. This is what Im required to do as well as have a pulmonary function test, a cardiac stress test with ecg, a psych eval, a physical by pc with full blood panels, and nutritionist clearance before submission to blue shield of ca for approval. My BMI is 43. The nurse at my pcp said "she hasn't seen her other prospective wls patients do as much as I've had to do.

This May Be Inappropriate, Forgive Me :)

Hmmm. I don't know. It's. A bit like the old inkblot test, isn't it. You know "what do you see in this screenname?" Kind of adds to the suspense when my avatar is a photo of a hairless kitty! Well, my friend, it's really just an ode to a favorite singer followed by the year of my birth! Or is it????? (evil laugh)

I know when I was fitted with a diaphragm for birth control my doctor told me if I gain or lose 10 lbs I would need to be checked to see if my diaphragm was still fitting correctly. So things must change internally as well. Have to ask your S.O. to keep an eye (or other appendages) on it while on your weight loss journey!
  15. Let me add the weigh ins are for 6 months. The last time i went to my doctor he was completely exasperated and said "how much longer are we going ti have to play this game?" that was my 5 month visit.
  16. I have had 4 cesareans and the incision are approximately 2-3 inches above my pubic bone. I don't see why scar tissue there would pose a risk. Unless one has had a vertical c-section because of an emergency, Im totally perplexed as to how something like that could happen.
