  1. Hi, haven't been here in a bit but I've been busy! I was sleeved feb 11. with one small set back, when they say introduce new foods slowly, they aren't kidding. I no longer tolerate any kind of milk, almond milk or creamy anything. So I won't try that again. Had what they call dumping, with cold sweats and a lot of pain. Thank god I did a lot of research so I knew what was happening. But still I was scared! Anyway, other than that I've been good, I'm back to downhill skiing, Zumba and walking. Feel pretty good too! The one thing that still is hard to get my head around is Small Portions! I had to go out and buy the smallest bowls I could find so it looks like I'm eating. I knew I'd eat less but it's still hard to understand how much less until you are there. I'm sure I'll over come it but wonder if anyone else feels this way. I'll be happy when it's just normal to eat this amount and not think "Wow I'm full?" I've lost 15 pounds as of last Wednesday, I only weigh once a week. I've read that this will slow down and maybe stall for a bit so I'm ready for that and the last big change, I don't die if I don't have coffee!! I was a coffeeholic and now I can drink it or not, makes no difference!!! All in all I highly recommend the surgery and would do it again! I went through Weight No More out of Saskatoon SK and INT hospital in Tijuana Mexico, the Doctors and staff were awesome!! I hope everyone is doing awesome and living a great life!!
  2. Well I'm on day 4/5 (mine was late evening so not really 5 but more than 4) and I'm home. Feeling good. Still have some gas and getting used to sipping, or feeling the pain, trust me sipping is easier! I'd do it again I'm going to walk outside today, even in all this snow I think I need to start moving more and I know my dog does! She's been pretty good waiting for me but now it's her turn. Good luck Sleevers. Take care out there!
  3. In the hotel now. Was sleeved Monday. And feel a little rough but not really bad just like you'd expect going through surgery. Had a nap and feel better. I feel like I could tackle the world one minute and ready for bed five minutes later. Still working on small sips. That's hard!
  4. Day 3 when they say walk they mean it. I've kept my pain in check by walking. But it's still hurts some. Leak test today and if its all good hotel for one night then home. I keep knocking my IV out they are really good at putting them in but they don't tape them enough. Not hungry that's a plus. Had ice chips yesterday.
  5. Ok surgery last evening 8-9. Went well I've been up walking 4 times now and am just going for my shower then another walk. Gas pain is real, so walk. But all in nothing you can't handle.
  6. It's Laurie lol, and I will still waiting.
  7. Actually it's the Laurie part lol and I'm still waiting. they say soon. But I might fall asleep before soon gets here.
  8. Today's the day. I'm getting ready to get on the flight. Then sometime this afternoon I'll go in!!!! Excited and calm. That calm part may not last once I get close but for now I am so grateful for it. Please send good vibes!!!
  9. I get sleeved tomorrow. Yesterday I went skiing with my grand kids, it was such an awesome day. It helped me remember why I want this, while many say ”nothing tastes as good as thin feels ", for me it's "as good as healthy feels" my family is very active and my weight hasn't stopped me yet from participating, but I see that it will in the near future. I want to do half marathons with my grand kids, I want to ski with them, I want to never have to be in the situation where I'm to heavy to participate. With this surgery I'm giving myself a tool in which to accomplish that. So when you see someone eating French fries, or ice cream, whatever your "food" is, remember what your reason for doing this was and I'll bet nothing tastes as good as your reason is. Good luck to everyone!
  10. Saw a good saying, thought I'd share. HOPE it stands for Hold On Pain Ends!! That's what I'll be saying starting Monday. Yikes.
