So about five years ago a saw a very unflattering picture of myself and said "That's It!" I sent away for more information on Lap band surgery. When I looked into our insurance i found out that they required that you try a weight loss program. So I signed up for Weight Watchers and wieghed in at 314 lbs! With a lot of sweat and tears I lost 107 lbs. over a 18 month period of time. I was really excited, but had plateaued and wanting to get back to loosing decided to train for a marathon. During the training for my 4th marathon i suffered a foot injury (mostly due to the fact that I still weighed of 200 lbs). I took some time off to heal and promptly gained 20 lbs. I decided to join Jenny with a friend and lost 10 lbs, but plateaued and stayed there for over 8 months. Finally fed up of spending money and getting no support, quit and started gaining back the weight. The more weight I regained the more depressed I became and the more my health suffered. Over the last year I have gained back 70 lbs and enough is enough.
My husband, who has severe health issues, and I are doing this together. We want a better quality of life than the one we currently have. We traveled to Europe this summer and boy wouldn't it have been more fun not being fat. We are planning on going again in 2 years for our 25th wedding anniversary and we will be going back skinny like we were on our honeymoon!
We are both excited that this will change our lives.
I personally want to run again. I have always wanted to do the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco and I will in Oct. of 2014 and I have every belief that I will be doing it at my goal weight of 250 lbs.
