So here I am day 2 post op...on full liquids' date=' having a he'll of a time getting fluids and Protein in. Been trying to add Protein powder to stuff, but the scoops are such hugs volume, I keep managing to make everything into a protein paste...yuck.So far I've had the best luck with carbmaster yogurt with 1/2 scoop protein and I cut that whole mess with skim milk...
Anyone havd advice on making it through these next two weeks??
Thanks![/quote']
I'm not having much luck myself, but something I tolerated was:
1/2 a SF choc pudding
1/2 scoop of nectar unflavored protein
Small amount of non flavored almond milk to thin out
( mix well)

So' date=' surgery is Thursday...I woke up this morning, and my little boy crawled into my bed- and suddenly I had this overwhelming terror of something going wrong in surgery. I thought- my God, I don't want to die having an elective surgery. I know the risks are low- but it's still surgery. I'm sort of having a hard time shaking it. (Sorry for the heavy subject matter-lol).I think most of it is b/c I've never had an "elective" surgery before- so there was no time to like sit around and think about it before-hand. I've had several emergency type surgeries- so it wasn't anything to think about...anyone else deal with this prior to surgery? ...or am I just nuts? lol[/quote']
That was me last night. My surg is on Wed morning. My son started getting worried that I wouldn't be home for a couple of days and I couldn't stop thinking about the what ifs! Hubby reminded me that I'm doing this for a longer life with my son. If you haven't had a good cry, try it because it helped me a lot. Wishing is the best, I'll keep you in prayer.

Okay' date=' this is becoming very real....I am going in on wednesday....omg...2 more days left....I am freaking out!!!!!...with joy of course....lolSent from my iPad using VST[/quote']
Me too on Wed!! I had a mini- meltdown--- mixture of fear and anxiousness last night, but I'm feeling a bit more excited today

What? No nail polish??? I don't think I was told that ( as I page through my pre-op folder)-- I was told no perfumes and lotions.
-
I have been using the Unflavored Isopure since my pre-op diet. It really helped that I had the unflavored especially in the first two weeks post op. I added it to broth and Crystal Light. I will say though that I got brave once and added two scoops to one serving of Crystal light - hoping to easily double my Protein quickly. But' date=' it just didn't taste right. Kind of nasty. One scoop works wonderfully for me though. It makes things taste a little different to me, but not so much that I can't drink it. Now that I'm used to it I don't even realize the difference in taste. I think it's a great product. If you decide to try, good luck! Hope you like it as much as I do.[/quote']Thank you for replying;)

Must be a Monday thing! I was sleeved on the 18th and I have Fluid on my lungs due to the anesthesia. Tonight it feels like someone is stabbing me in the chest on my left side when I breathe' date=' and when I laid down to sleep around 9:00, I felt like I was suffocating. I totally panicked. Waiting to hear back from my surgeon and hoping it's not progressed to a partially collapsed lung![/quote']
Hope you get your call back soon--- and find a way to get relief!! Doesn't sound fun at all;(

lifesaveremt-- I'm on 27th too! One week and we'll be sleeved!!!! There is a post from a week or two ago where Liz explains how to add yourself to the group. I know Liz was overwhelmed with pre-op prep and couldn't keep track and add all our Feb peeps. I think she just got sleeved as well. Take a look and see if you can find it. If you can't find post and I'll try to find it tonight.

Lol good luck. I have been trying to sub one meal with a Protein shake a day. I had a hard time finding one I like. When I finally did I found out because of the Vitamins in it I can't use it this week bc the Vitamin e will thin my blood so I wound up ordering unjury which is my 2nd favorite. Unfortunately until it comes I'm stuck with this other one which I pretty much hate lol. I did find putting some cinnamon helped me to be able to choke it down lol. What??? Vit E??? I hadn't heard I should worry about it thinning my blood? Is this because of
medication you take, or in general for pre-surgery peeps like me?
