Question about liquid diet
woman in me replied to Harpo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've already cut carbs, sugars, and soft drinks. My surgery is 2/25 -
I'm having my surgery in an outpatient clinic in Louisiana on the 25th. The dr ask all patients to stay in a local hospital of their choice for 3 days and he makes rounds at the hotel every evening. I personally know 15 people that used this same Dr and loved him. It saves me about $4k in this area.

How to take a compliment
woman in me replied to FoxyRoxy's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Now think about how you would speak to someone that had lost a lot of weight. Would you just ignore the "pink elephant" in the room and not acknowledge that they look great after losing 150lbs ? No ! You would notice that they carry themselves with more confidence, their clothes are nicer and fit better. They care more about their appearance so they are fixing their hair and wearing make-up more often. Of course they look better. They feel better. Now think about the changes you have made to your appearance since losing weight. Of course people are going to tell you you look great. Because you do. You feel better. It shows. Be proud of it. Say thank you. Or do like I do and start singing 'Dontcha wish your girlfriend was hot like me. " -

Also I would like to add this from a mother's point of view.........a child's world (even if you are grown you are still her child) is so large. They have so many things going on in their world. But to a parent, that child IS their whole world. Since you were conceived she has loved and protected you. It's just her instinct to think safety first. -

I tell everybody. Most people are very supportive, some have said "are you sure you want to do this?", and the few that weren't supportive I've found just needed to be educated. They didn't know the difference between sleeve, band, bypass, or switch. All they knew was their friend's sister's husband's mother had that in the 80's and almost died. Oh geez! Really? I just educated them into this century of modern day medicine and they seemed to jump on board. -
HEY our surgeries are only one day apart. Mine is 2/25

You are inspiring them. They want you to know your hard work is paying off. They want to know how you did it so they can do it too. -
Thanks for the inspiration

I'm having mine in New Iberia, LA. I'll stay in a hotel for 3 days. The dr makes his rounds there. It cuts out the hospital cost by about $4000. And I'm self pay so that helps.
