    Back to work -_-

How far out are you and do you have a frig at work? I am on the mush phase and take Soup or turkey chili for lunch. For Snacks, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, Protein shakes (I like Muscle Milk in a pinch). I tried Peanut Butter but it seemed to have too many calories and not be worth it. Hope it helps.

2 day post op how mich luquid?

Don't worry about the protein this week. Hydrate, sleep, heal. You won't have a lot of energy, that is normal. At week 2 start trying to get protein in but don't get too worried if you can't. I am week 3 and can get all protein, water, and have energy. It's a process

Those look very similar to mine. I put a heating pad on the sore parts and it helped a lot!

Fell off the wagon months ago

I downloaded my run keeper and fit radio. I go to the local park, blast my fit radio and track my miles. Each time I go I try to go just a little bit further. The hardest part is getting out the front door but once I make my mind up to do it, I do. Do what you can to feel good about yourself.
  5. Nice work! You are doing great!
  6. I was sleeved on 1/31 and so far everything is going great! I had a little pain and was really tired but seem to have gotten my energy level back up...just a few questions: - during my post-op followup I asked my surgeon about 'sissy the sleeve' gurgling and growling. Based on what I read on here, I expected him to tell me it was acid, but he replied 'it's hungry, you gotta eat'. I thought that goes away. Does it? - I can easily eat 1cup of Soup in 5-10 minutes. Is that OK? I asked the dr and he said it should be more like 30 minutes. -I will start mushies on Monday, do you blend eggs or can I scramble and chew the heck out of them? -I still have glue on my incisions. I am leaving it alone but want to pull it off to put lotion on them. Am I healed enough to do that? They are almost gone except for the glue dots. Thanks!
  7. Every surgeon has different instructions but I am on week 2, and not supposed to begin the puree stage until week 3. My first week was all about hydration and rest, I am just now focusing on adding in more protein. Take it slow...it will get easier, at least thats what I keep reading and saying to myself!

    Exercise?

I would say to check it out with your NUT. Before the sleeve I was working out too much and not eating enough so I was at a stall. Are you using myfitnesspal? It helps track calories and activity. Prior to surgery, I did 3 different 5ks (color run, electric run, local 5k), a 10k, and a 10k mud run. I got the surgery to lose weight and run in more of them this year. If only they weren't so darn expensive...my point, do the 5k, enjoy it, and have fun !
  9. At 4 days post op, I was only doing 16-20oz, now at 9 days post op I get in 60oz with crystal light too.

    So Tired

I am on day 8 since surgery. I have been doing well with water and vitamins, get about 50g protein. Prior to the surgery I could walk/jog a 10 min mile. Now I find myself out of breath if I walk my daughter to school which is around the block. I get really feverish and tired. My energy level is really low and all I want to do is sleep. Is this normal? I am thinking so, but when does energy pick up and is there anything I can do to boost it?

    So Tired

Not a fever just flushed and hot...reminds me of when I was pregnant (I am so not pregnant though

    Yay for soft food phase!

Oh I can't wait to get to that phase! My grocery cart looks a lot different not just for me but my family too.
  13. Congratulations! I was sleeved on 12/31. My vitals were good, blood sugar was really high, everything else was OK. You are doing good because I didn't want to go online, text, or even talk on the phone after surgery. I slept, walked after 4 hours, and then every hour or two. Hang in there!

    Exercise virgin...

I would recommend getting a personal trainer for a month. S/he will show you proper form, motivate you, and teach you some exercises to help tighten your arms. Trainers can be affordable, if you are upfront with them on pricing. I pay about $8/session. If that isn't an option, there are a lot of instructional weight things on Pinterest. HIH

    sleeved on December 31

I got my protein slammers at walmart but haven't tried them yet. I am going to add protein in tomorrow. Still have pain on the left side and taking the meds. Each day gets better!
  17. Hi everyone, I got home yesterday afternoon. No real pain, just uncomfortable. I am surviving on sf Popsicle, Water, and juice...hope that is OK. I will start Protein stuff tomorrow just wanted my tummy to recover a little. How much water are you drinking? Also I walk for 1-2 minutes every 30 min, unless I am sleeping. Looks like we are doing well!
