Any Charlotte Nc Sleevers?
ursomajor3460 replied to NCsleever63's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved with Dr Pirello on New Years Eve... loving it... If I can recommend, Premier Protein (chocolate) is good.. not too sweet or thick and you can get it at Sam's Club. Also, Power Crunch protein bars - very similar to those strawberry, chocolate and vanilla wafer cookies - our local Harris Teeter has them in a ton of flavors or you can grab them at Vitamin Shoppe. Good luck everyone! -

I feel like I am doing pretty well.. I'm down 32lbs and have had a couple of stalls... I am trying to get to the gym but with the weather, etc it is just hard to get motivated. Waiting for it to get warm.. -
Uh Oh....I'm suddenly STARVING
ursomajor3460 replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got on here to ask the same question... 10 days out and I think I have hunger... no heartburn, over 100 oz of fluids yesterday and I am hungry.... I even moved to mushies/softs early and am having a little small curd cottage cheese. Is something wrong with me? and no, not my time of the month. -

I only had to do clear liquids the day prior - also magnesium citrate as a bowel prep. I will say that I was also cautioned since I had weighed in in October that my weight had to match that or be less day of surgery - I had gained 4 pounds with the holidays and did low carb that week prior to get back to my weight. I think the bowel prep really helped me not be uncomfortable. I had surgery 12/31 and have lost 12 pounds as of yesterday. Good luck and congrats

I bought my Synthrax from Amazon. I got the Lemon Tea and was having issues with the smell and taste... but I started putting it in a 20 oz shaker and added a package of Crystal Light Mango Tea to it and now it is perfect... I think you need to be a bartender or chemist to get some of this stuff to taste palatable. Maybe on the Cappucino one add a sugar free hot chocolate packet to it or some Sugar Free Chocolate syrup.. kind of like a mocha frappucino

The lemon tea isn't clear but easier to handle..think they have it at GNC..I ordered it from amazon...passing gas, litte to no pain meds, low grade fever but assuming that is to b expected... I could sleep all day but trying to get up and get more protein and fluid..feel pretty good but need to get some walking in -

I have slept a lot today and attempted to stay away from the pain elixir because it makes me very nauseous based on taste.. my Nectar Lemon Tea protein came in today so I am sipping away on that which is much more easier to tolerate than the creamy Oh Yeah or Muscle Milk... still a decent amount of irritation in the shoulders and some associated pain in my neck which may be from the manipulation during surgery. Jamie, how did you know you needed to check back in? hope you are feeling better soon. -

I was home by 2:30.. my period started also so that was a surprise... I came home and laid down and slept too long so I am behind on my pain meds and feeling it... no problem with liquids or protein, thank god... just some issues with coughing, irritation up near my shoulders which I think is gas and soreness where my drain was... I have the kiddos running around etc so hoping I can get some real rest tomorrow here at home by myself and set some reminders for my pain meds. I feel like I can get a decent amount of liquid down... I have to be careful to not gulp it too quickly or "sid the sleeve" reminds me quickly that he can be a real ass -
Sorry fo the delay, couldn't get the app to work. I feel like I am doing pretty damn good. Coming ou in recovery I was super sore from the gas. Once they got me hooked up the meds I was good to go. Out of surgery at 9am nd walking to the bathroom b 9:45... Day progressed well.. Once I got to my room, the gas kicked in again - especially when starting m water and protein. I have probably made 10 o 12 laps around he unit and just bumped up my h2o and protein to 60cc's. Just took down my dilaudid pump and switched to hydrocondone elixir that tastes like butt. Having some cramping with drinking but think that has to do with my unexpected hiatal hernia repair. Waiting on the dr to confirm my discharge time.

I'm bringing my iPad along to ask questions and keep me company... GOOD LUCK

Magnesium Citrate - it's a saline laxative for bowel prep... start it in just a little over 12 hours... I think I might actually be getting a little nervous... -
Presbyterian Mathews does one each month on the last Monday i believe

My surgery is set for the 31st.. super pumped and ready to start 2013 with a bang No real pre-op diet - have to do liquids and MagCit on Sunday. Only concern... on my pre-op visit I had gained 4 lbs since October when my start weight was recorded at 264... I have to drop those but was pretty sure it was a combo of water weight and Xmas parties. I was also fully dressed. I am doing high protein now and limited carbs and drinking my weight in water. Trying not to step on the scale every hour. Between that and the MagCit, I believe that the loss should be doable. Anyone foresee any issues with switching to all liquids early - Saturday and Sunday? I don't want any last minute surprises. Also, any other 12/31 surgery dates? I just started on FitnessPal too as Ursomajor3460.
