Maybe it would help if you got a little creative with the things you are allowed...make mini casseroles (or atleast where it feels like a casserole)....like I use those little ramekins that you can bake in. The tiny little pyrex glass containers. You can put them in the oven or I use a toaster oven to cook in. Put some beans with cheese in one and bake it till cheese is bubbly...then u can use plain yogurt kinda like sour cream...I mix a little bit of taco bell salsa in it for flavor. Or make a Tuna Melt with your fish....same concept. At this point your wanting something different so dont be affriad to try things that sound kinda gross...like mix a little cream of brocolli soup with some tuna then a little cheese on top and bake it. Sounds nasty, but your getting a different flavor than the same old tuna all the time. Your only making 3-4 bites with your ingredients so if you hate it your not out much...try something else. Like mixing tuna and cheese to bake. Even make an egg bake...like a baby quiche. Scramble the egg....put in a little cheese or tuna and make a little bake. You can even use a microwave for these baby casserole bakes. Just try to come up with new ideas with what you have. Your doing great and its only going to get better as you can add more ingredients. Dont get in a rush...I know its frustrating...I still cannot eat anything I want...like fresh veggies...just to hard to digest...but I know I will someday...just like you will too!! Good luck!!

2 Days Post Surgery and Trying to Adjust
kristenetsirk replied to popsicle_20721's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I highly recommend the Gas X strips....helps so much. Your shoulder pain could be from gas. Also I remember thinking this walk, walk, walk stuff is crap....but it wasnt. I stayed with my mom the first few weeks and I would get her up at midnight to go walk with me cause it helped me feel better...so walk walk walk. I still find it hard to get all my liquid and protein in daily...but I'm now addicted to Sonic Ice...so if you have a Sonic...I recommend chomping thier ice...helps get that liquid in especially at the start. You can do it and its all going to get better!! -

I agree would take the weight loss anyday, but I'm starting to look like a melted candle in places! And I love the tube sock remark...I'm right there with ya gal!! -
$8K total - $500 down to hold your spot, then $3K when I got to hospital and then financed the rest - $100 twice a month - This includes surgery, stay at hospital, all testing, and trasportation to and from hospital - you have to buy your plane ticket if you need to fly to ElPaso or whatever your boarder city is and $50 for medication.

what should I take to hospital tomorrow?
kristenetsirk replied to karamarie2012's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
slippers that you do not have to bend over to put on....number one thing! Your gonna be walking alot to get rid of gas and having comfy slippers you can just slip on is so helpful. -
I had surgery in Mexico and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about it! I was treated better there than I have ever been treated in a US hospital (with the exception of when I had my child). I was catered to constantly, taken very well care of, not scary at all, and even had staff pray with me. There are staff members that do not speak very good English, but there is always someone that speaks excellent English to help out. Its mostly just the staff that helps you bathe or takes blood pressure (but the hospital gives you a chart of things to point to if they are unable to understand or you are unable...example: if they are just there to take out the trash they just point to the paper they are taking out the trash). All of the doctors speak English perfectly. I went to Star Medica in Juarez across from El Paso. It was all facilitated through Belite Weight here in the US and I still speak with my patient facilitator here in US. I even was able to finance it. You do have to get a passport. The hospital has a driver that picks you up at the airport and takes you into Mexico and then takes you back to airport. It was all very safe and my doctors were amazing! I made a friend from Houston while there that I still talk to and another from Dallas that had surgery there the week before that I met on their website. I follow up with my general practice doc here in US. Please feel free to message me with any questions you have. I know Mexico sounds scary...at first I thought it was crazy...but after tons of research I know I made the right decision and have not regrets!! Hope this helps! K
