Nearly ready to go!
T'snewstart replied to SoCalDixieGal's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Best Wishes SoCalDixeGal and tami88..... Hope you have a swift recovery.. Sincerely Tina -
I haven't thought about this in some time... I had the same hesitation for several years. I actually started this journey with WLS when the gastric Bypass was more popular than the sleeve. Approx. 15 years ago. I took all the classes, went to all the appointments and backed out when the surgeons office called me to give me the surgery date. Telling myself I could do it myself. 5 more years passed and again I went through all the steps, classes, apps. Etc. and backed out again. Finally, in the summer of 2012 I said enough is enough... Time to face my fear and do this thing. On Nov. 7 th 2012 I had the sleeve done. Honestly, Jackhamptons it is the best decision I have ever made in my life. I do not struggle with food anymore. It is like having built in portion control. If you take that extra bite you are uncomfortable and you do not want to do it again. I do wish you the best in whatever decision you make. I can honestly say my only regret is waiting all those years and losing all that time I can not get back. I have really experienced the Freedom from the drive for food. Food is for nutrition now and nothing else. Take good care! Tina

Ten months after sleeve and loving life
T'snewstart replied to aboutime4me's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations on your accomplishments.... You have made the tool called "Gastric Sleeve" truly work for you! I truly understand what you are saying.....free from all things food! What a freedom it is! Blessing Tina -
Hi I had my surgery through Kaiser as well. I believe it depends on the particular coverage you have. In our options classes they told us to call membership services before the surgery to find out what coverage you have. One man in the class had a $1,500.00 co-pay. My co-pay was $200.00. Not bad to 3 days and 2 nights in the hospital. Best wishes for your surgery Kimkai.

No judgement here..... I feel you... I told very few people before surgery. However, afterwards I did not care what people thought. Anyone who asks I tell them the truth. Usually they have questions which I answer. Because after that fact their opinions really don't matter.... Best Wishes with the surgery and your decision

Do be worried.....honestly it's worth it....

Watching the scale numbers going down! Giving away a complete wardrobe of clothes because your clothes are falling off.... Its best decision I have ever made...

No support from Gynecologist!
T'snewstart replied to sheree212's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi I just have to chime in on this one. I understand that it is important.to have the support of the Dr.'s that are involved in your health care. However, some just will take the time to do the research. I am willing to bet you are more informed on this subject than this Dr. is....... The painful truth is we will not get support from 100% of the people in our lives...be it a Dr., friends or family. Sorry this Dr. let you down. As long as you know it is best for you than that is all you need. Best Wishes -
I had my surgery Nov 7th 2012 &. I too feel their pain.... Its worth it..... Best Wishes.....
