    Divorce/non marraige breakups

I feel you! You are going through some serious changes..... I am no expert in relationships that is for sure. I too had come to the very same crossroads. I had to ask myself a few questions. 1· Is it really ok to hold someone's past mistakes against them? ( would I like it if the tables we turned and someone was holding my past against me) 2· Am I trying to mold this person into to who I want them to be? ( If I answered yes to either of these questions I knew I was being unfair) I am speaking for myself here.... I have had to readjust my own thinking. I had to focus on the good things, the positive things that drew us together in the first place.... Of course there are deal breakers in every relationship. So far I have yet to experience any in this situation. Best of Wishes

    Desperately seeking advice

I hit a stall and this is what my Dr. told me. eat no more than what you can fit in one cup each meal for the first year. keep your calorie intake @ 1000 calories a day. I was doing mostly walking... so she said to change up the exercise... do cardio but add in some resistance stuff.....squats, sit ups etc. I did what she said and the stall broke in 2 days. She said basically you have to shock your body out of it. She was very clear I needed to drink 2 protien shakes a day for the first year. Hope this helps.. Best Wishes

Scared? Why am I doubting myself?

I did the same thing 3 times .... on the 3rd go around I said that is it! Time for the surgery.... it was the best decision I have ever made.... It is normal to have fears and concerns.... We all have them...... I hope the best for you. This tool can change you life... It has mine! Best Wishes
  6. I felt a lot of trapped air..... Got up and walked the halls. That more I walked more the air pressure was released. my surgeon gave me precautionary meds. , for pain, nausea, and acid so I never really suffered from those things. As to the feeling of the stomach being smaller. I didn`t really even think about. I was not hungry or thirsty. I had trouble remembering to drink. I had the best care... the nurse would come in and fill up a line of one oz cups with snapple and some with crushed ice with Water.....Best wishes.... I hope are just as well taken care of!

    PCOS

Hi my symptoms did not go away either. Sorry
  8. YES you will feel full. For me in the beginning I lost hunger.... Now just past 5 months post op I know when it time to eat. I get a empty feeling and know it's time for food. Measuring portions of food and liquids has been critical for me. In the beginning I struggled to get everything in..... now it is not a problem. It might sound extreme ..... but writing everything down including liquids is the best..
  9. Hi and welcome..... Sleeve , I have had gerd for years. I got the sleeve surgery and have no regrets! I still have to take a daily anti acid pill. However, this is normal for at least 50% of all wls patients. my insurance required me to take 3 months of classes. in those classes we were told in most cases the sleeve is the best surgery. The facts are with the sleeve it is expected in 2 years post op for patients to lose 50 - 70% of their excess weight. With the by-pass the expectations are 60 - 80 % of the excess weight. In most cases even diabetics were recommended the sleeve. As any significant weight loss will regulate their sugar. So considering there is only a 10% difference in the amount of weight loss the decision was easy for me. Just a side note I had my sleeve surgery a little more than 5 months ago. I have already lost 40 % of my excess weight. It is true any wls surgery is just a tool..... the results come from how you use that tool. I hope this info helps! Best Wishes Tina

In need of some positive reinforcement

Hi well I can sure understand the frustration you have been feeling. I personally am a chocolate lover. So I have incorporated 1 chocolate pure protien bar into my daily intake of calories. If I want more I will have SF pudding. If I have regular sugar it's hard to get off of it. It's like a drug...... I have to just bit the bullet and resist. Anyhow, currently the protien bars, sf pudding and sf hard candy have worked for me. And I have a roommate that has sweets all over and I am not even tempted. Hope this helps! Best Wishes Tina
  12. Hi it is a gross feeling. At 5 months post op I still carry tic tac`s everywhere I go.

    New here..

Hi Diana and congratulations. It is a huge decision.... It's normal to respond the way you have responded. I see we are close to the same starting weight. I am 5 months post op and have lost 95 lbs so far.... I hope this encourages you. Honestly I feel fantastic. The best decision I have ever made. The first few months are a huge adjustment. But then life settles, you establish a routine and the joy of your decision is shining in the mirror. Best Wishes to you! Tina

    One year surgiversary!

    Congrats you look beautiful!
  15. My life has changed dramatically! Lets start with the emotional change.... the drive to over eat unhealthy food is gone. I feel FREE FROM FOOD (if that makes sense) Before food was my go to for everything that ailed me. The first few months of adjustments was a lot of work..... BUT worth it!! Now on to the physical improvements... I am mobile without joint pain of any kind. Before surgery I would take Motrin daily just to make it through the day. At 5 months post op life feels normal....I can wear clothes I dreamed of wearing..... Yes it has been work and a adjustment. However, It is worth it...I would do it again if I had to.

  24. I personally did not want to we're anything binding right after surgery. It was not until the beginning of month two that I was ready for snug fitting clothing. Now At about 5 months out I do wear firm fitting underwear to hold up the extra skin.

    Is anyone sorry?

No regrets here.... My recovery was fine.... Adjusting to the new approach to food took getting used to. I found this web site about 1 month post op and it was a life saver. I found I was not alone. Every question I had someone on this site had a answer.... I had many fears to begin with.... And those were similar to yours. However, by the time I got to the surgery day I was full of peace. I knew that this was the best decision for my life. I wanted a better quality of life and knew this tool would get me there. Now at just about 5 months out.... Almost 100 lbs lost my life is so different. I can do so many things I could not do before..... Enjoying being active.... Nothing holding me back ... It's awesome! It is wonderful having a built in portion control. I still only eat 2 oz of protien and 1/4 cup of veggies per meal and I am very full and satisfied. It is wonderful! Best Wishes on your decision!
