2 weeks post-op--very little restriction
HikeEveryMountain replied to TES's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr said that drinking could only stretch your stomach right after surgery - like the first dew daya (and even then it doesn't really stretch, but could stress it). Water won't stretch it, moves through there too fast. -

Normal to eat this much?
HikeEveryMountain replied to nikilynne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good question. I think I just liked it pureed, made it smoother and less dry. How do you add egg? Cooked? -

I'm three weeks out and felt the same. Eating and drinking was wayyy too easy. But definitely feeling more restriction as my stomach loses numbness and my food gets more dense. Hang in there. Even if you're not feeling completely full, stop if you've had an adequate amount and you're at least satisfied. -
Not getting enough protein!
HikeEveryMountain replied to djsacco's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ordered the special k protein powder to go in water bottles. Ordered off amazon. Love it! 5 g protein per glass without the heavy shake taste. -
Gained 2 pounds?
HikeEveryMountain replied to ShyV.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great thread. This is exactly why I've decided to only weigh weekly. I don't need the daily stress! Just do my best and TRUST my body will follow. My attitude has been so much better since I put that little square demon in a closet! -

Does more restriction on liquids occur further out?

Thank you! I'm 10 days post op and totally wondering the same. Drinking has been a snap. -
Should it be this easy? 3 days out, no problems with drinking at all.

Sleeved on Monday (three days now) -- I haven't had a single problem drinking water or juice or eating jello, popsicles, etc. Is that weird? I read about so many people not even able to take sips or get their fluids in. Don't get me wrong, I'm so grateful that this has been this easy and virtually pain free, I'm just wondering when I'm going to feel any restriction. -

So many questions about Mexico
HikeEveryMountain replied to Amberlydw8's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I just had mine 5 days ago from Dr. Quinones in MX, loved the whole experience. Was $4000, but may be $4500 now. He was incredible as well as his staff. Included transport to and from San Diego airport, two nights in hospital, and one night in a hotel. Highly recommend! -
Premeire Protein Drinks from Costco - BEST EVER

These are also my favorite. How can I make a blended shake with them? You know, with ice, bananas, etc....? Confession, I have NEVER used my blender. Ever. -
It hurts my stamach when i drink water
HikeEveryMountain replied to MLCT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 4 days sleeved and I'm having the exact opposite. I can drink as much as I want, no problems at all. Protein drinks, water, propel, I don't even have to sip. Makes me wonder why I'm not feeling SOME restriction with liquids? -

Taking a taxative a day or two before is a great help, totally reduced any gas pains for me afterwards. And you'll probably hear this a hundred times, but WALK WALK WALK as soon as you can. Totally helps! Good luck to you!

Sleeve done yesterday morning! So many question.
HikeEveryMountain replied to kimmy42083's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm three days out, and yes, gained a few from the surgery - they pumped a lot of liquid into you through your IV. And you probably are retaining some Water from the swelling. It will drop quickly. Hang in there. I'm not having any trouble with water drinking or anything, which seems kind of strange - but I'm not complaining. No nausea, and not much pain either. I feel lucky. Just keep drinking, even if you have to force it. Dehydration will not be helpful. -
Thoughts on Dr. Almanza
HikeEveryMountain replied to Tiny2019's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I've heard great things about Almanza. He must be good to have such full schedules all of the time. I personally chose Dr. Sergio Quinones, also in TJ. Price was very comprable, and having been sleeved three days ago, I am nothing but ECSTATIC about the care I received at his clinic. He was personable, answered every question - speaks excellent English - spent a lot of time checking up on me. His whole staff was incredible. I don't think I would have gotten any better care in the US. As I was preparing to leave Mexico for the airport, one of the nurses showed up at my hotel just to give me a popsicle and say goodbye. I highly recommend Quinones. -
January 2013 Sleevers?
HikeEveryMountain replied to LenaVSG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I definitely have preferred standing and walking to laying down. I finally was able to get another pillow semi propped under my stomach and slept on my side. That was the only way it didn't hurt. Getting up and down takes a lot of stomach muscles so I try to use the wall, the bed rails, my legs, anything to use less stomach crunching. -
