Finally feeling back in the loop with W3D2 done. Went to a running store this last weekend and got fitted for proper running shoes that "fit" me. It was pretty cool how they put you on the treadmill and record you running. Once I was over the awkward feeling I did fine. The shoes are feeling great and I am excited to get this going again! Happy running everyone! We got this!!!!

Have stalled at 6 months
LisaT678 replied to Dallasgrl47's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Last week I finally lost a pound but it was mainly Water. Started back on my c25k program so hoping that kicks this stall into high gear. On another sidenote I had my six month appointment yesterday for postop and never saw the doctor. I waited 2 1/2 hours in the waiting room until I finally went up and said if the doctor is running behind because of surgery complications I'll leave my paperwork and come back later. They assured me he was coming right over to see patients and they took me right back which then they promptly left me sitting for almost 45 minutes. I got mad and walked out and haven't heard from the doctors office yet! I think I'll be returning to my GP & let him monitor my progress from this point on! -
I am finally getting started again. Just did week 3 day 1 this afternoon. It feels soooo good to be back on the road to a long healthy life again. Everyone is so encouraging and I'm loving the motivation! Keep it up!

Have stalled at 6 months
LisaT678 replied to Dallasgrl47's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved in Dec also and have been in a stall. I also was in the hospital for pancreatitis in April, then had my gallbladder out April 30. I have been kind of bummed but am glad to see that this appears to be kind of normal. We can all encourage each other through this stall. ???? -
Congratulations!!

Does the pre op diet get any easier?
LisaT678 replied to Healthier2day1227's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It does get easier and your body levels out and you aren't hungry. I actually found food lost it's spell on me after about the 4th or 5th day. I didn't feel hungry and I felt energized and proud of myself for sticking to the plan. Hang in there. It will get easier and keep telling yourself that this is only for a short time. -
Everyone is so inspiring here. I am sooo ready to start over again. Went and saw the Dr. for my 1 mo post-op galbladder check up. He said give it another 2 to 4 weeks before I start the program again. I will start walking on the treadmill again next Monday. I'm still deciding whether or not to sign up for the color run I was originally planning on doing in June. I know I couldn't run it but I could walk it. They are also having a 2 mile walk. Maybe I should just plan on that. Keep up the great motivating here everyone. Thanks!!

Broken and starting get depressed?!
LisaT678 replied to kputman09's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Don't give up or quit! Everyone hits a stall and it's normal. Make sure your getting enough calories, rest, water, exercise and most of all give yourself permission to "breath and relax". Enjoy the spot your in right now. You weren't there 6 weeks ago. You were 42lbs heavier and just starting this journey. Sometimes our bodies need a "reset" time to readjust to where it is right now. Give it a little time and then the body will be rested and ready to forge forward with a drive to succeed as long as you are there to encourage it along. Keep your chin up and look ahead. You are a success story already and your just beginning!!! -
I'm now a week gallbladder post-op. See the Dr tomorrow to get the stitches out and hoping he will release me to normal activities in a couple weeks. Started walking this morn and hope to get back on my C25K program then. Starting over but not giving up!

Wow, can't type I guess. Getting the gallbladder out and it's good not God.
-
Did my 5K this morning! My time was better than my first one 2 years ago but slower than my 2nd one. I'm happy though considering I was in the hospital a month ago! I'll be resting again for a few weeks. I get my gallbladder this next Tuesday. Yippee. I figure its god for at least a half pound loss. Lol

In the hospital with Pancreatitis.....is this normal?
LisaT678 replied to LisaT678's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have done well for the last month. No issues at all. I am having my gallbladder removed next Tuesday, April 30. I think I'm looking forward to this surgery as much as I was my sleeve! Lol -
In the hospital with Pancreatitis.....is this normal?
LisaT678 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Woke up yesterday morning feeling fine. About 2 hrs later I started having pain in my upper ab right below the ribs. It radiates around to my back. As it continued to get worse throughout the day I finally called my Sleeve Dr. to make sure it wasn't anything from that. The pain was so intense I finally told my husband to just take me to the ER. Come to find out I have a severly inflammed pancreas and gallbladder. My blood work was very elevated as well. They said this is fairly common in patients after gastric surgery. I don't remember reading that but then again I know I scanned over a lot. Now I sit here in the hospital for the 2nd day with a tube going into my nose down into my stomach. I am getting morphine and zofran every 4 hrs and wishing this was a thing of the past. Anyone else have this happen to them??? -
The pain gets better with each day. It really doesn't last too long. Get up and walk as much as you can and that will help speed the healing process. You won't regret this decision.
-
Good luck to you. You won't regret this decision. Best decision I ever made! I'm not even 6 mos out yet and I am already seeing drastic positive changes in my quality of life.
-
Praying for you during this hard time.

Just checking in. After being in the hospital I was so lucky to get the cold virus going around. I'm on antibiotics now and then scheduled for my gallbladder surgery April 30th. I'm thinking I will pretty much back track to week 1 or 2 and start over again. I think I'll also being walking my 5k alternate 1 mile walk next Saturday. But I'm showing up and giving it my all! Might should bring the breathing treatment stuff just in case. LOL
