Hello everyone!! I finished my insurance requirements in Nov. and got my wls approval letter on 12/24. My first drs visit is 1/15. I was hoping for a january sleeve date but might not happen till february. Seeing as how I have to do a two week liquid diet right before the surgery I don't see january surgery date happening for me. But either way I am motivated and ready to get my surgery over with. I'm having my surgery done in Oxford, MS. Any other MS sleevers out here?

Congratulations on your jan. 2 surgery date. I wish mine was that date. But my first dr.'s visit is not until jan 15 so I don't think I'll be having the surgery before the month is up, but I'm still hoping. But since I'll have to do a 2 week liquid fast right before the surgery I don't know if that will be enough time, I just want to get mine done & over with...keep us posted on your weight loss progress!! -

Yeah i'm not too sure on the deductible thing either, but that's a good thing that some hospitals will make payment plans with you on a deductible. I'm getting my surgery in Oxford, Ms. But no matter what, I'm determined to get it done! -
Aetna Sleevers - Share Your Approval And/or Denial Experiences Here!

I got my 1st approval letter in the mail on 12/24/12....so excited! Aetna approved me for a 1 night stay coverage approved for laparoscopy, surgical, gastric restrictive procedure; longitudin al gastrectomy (sleeve gastrectomy). It took a little longer than I thought it would, like almost 3 wks to even hear anything. Now just got to talk with the patient coordinator either 12/26 or 12/27, when she get's back in the office to schedule my drs. consults. But I am a little worried since my surgery wont be until 2013, will I have to start back over on my deductible? -
Hello everyone my name is Melanie and I just found out today 12/24/12 I got approved for my wls for an inpatient 1 night stay. I'm going for the sleeve gastrectomy. This has been quite a journey trying to get all my information together and doing everything my insurance companty required me to to in order to qualify for wls. So now I can't wait for my dr.'s consult and to continue on my weight loss journey. I do know I will have to do a two week liquid fast before surgery....ohhh so not looking forward to that, but I will do it successfully. Now in the mean time I have beeng going to the gym for over a month now 4 - 5 days a week at least an hour each time I go. I have lost 10 lbs in the past month. I was at 299. But because I don't eat the right foods all the time, Im kinda basically sabotagging my workouts. So I know with this surgery I will not eat nearly as much as I do now and my weight will be coming off alot faster. Because frankly I feel really good after my workouts so that keeps me motivated to go everyday. And want to thank my friend for pushing to go to the gym, she had been going for quite sometime and was always suggesting I should go with her. Well needless to say I was never on top of that, I always had an excuse why I wouldn't go. And I'm really inspired by some of the other stories I've been reading in this forum. So glad I found this site!

It really is a personal decision. I myself am a private person. I don't divulge a whole lot about my family life and other things going on with me. So me shouting out to the whole world I'm going for wls is not a stretch for me. I have been going to the gym for the past month and half and I still have to get my wls date scheduled this week. Alot of ppl I know have been seeing me working out there. I live in a small area. So after my surgery, which I suspect will be in January 2013 sometime, ppl will see I'm really dropping weight and will assume it's all because I've been hitting the gym. Of course I will still go to the gym after my surgery. Now I'm not going to lie if someone ask if I had wls, but I'm just not volunteering the info, just like alot of other things I dont volunteer about my personal life.
