Thank you so much for your feedback. I was panicking. I am only one week out - currently on liquids...so solids are in my fantasies at this point. -

Approximately how much were you able to eat? What could your new tummy tolerate? Any food disasters? I have an international class reunion, and I am afraid to attend, because: 1) I don't want to pay a lot of money for food I can't eat. Although I am willing to pay to have the time with my friends. 2) I don't want to have a post surgery disaster, regurgitation, gas, sweats, etc. I understand to eat smaller amounts, chew, no liquids during the meal. I'm afraid of how my body will respond. Any advice is appreciated.

No, I wasn't told I had to be on liquids, just a 1,000 calories. I have been disciplined, I went to the movies and lost my mind...the stress of everything going on. I can't believe this. I took ducolax yesterday to begin the cleansing, I planned to have a liquid day today, but I broke. I chose to do this portion on my own, thinking it would make things easier. I am panicking, because I gave in... -
When was your surgery? One fish finger is pretty good.

Hi, I'm looking for a good source to obtain free or low price sample packets of protein shakes without having to order shakes from individual vendors. Also, any suggestions on great liquid meals, I.e. soups, shakes, baby food (the stage when you go home and the two weeks after). I feel like I'm losing my mind now that the surgery is around the corner. Aaaahhh! Thank you in advance.

Again, I say, tell them when you are ready to share. I didn't tell anyone at first, now that I'm 12 days away, I realized I don't mind telling anyone. In my role, I have to wine and dine pharmacist at dinner - it is going to be stranger to see me order tomato Soup - nothing else (no wine, no bread, no gelato, no steak)....ahhh, this is going to be hard.

First things first, you do not have to lie. You don't have to tell them or disclose exactly why you are off work. You can simply be off due to medical reasons. I work in the pharmacy industry too. You can always go to another store or use mail order to obtain your medication. You healthcare is your business not your colleagues. If you choose to share the information, let it be your choice, because you feel comfortable telling them. If you need to speak with your boss about your medical leave, you can feel comfortable explaining you are having a medical procedure that will have you out for a few weeks to recover. That's it...no more than that unless you feel you want to share. I hope that helps.

Freaking Out....is this normal 13 days pre-op
Letty1 replied to Letty1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stick with it, I have my days of doubt. After reading the post on this site, and attending support groups, I believe this is the right thing for me to turn my life around. I too have the thoughts that my metabolism has bottomed out, however, I look at my friend who weighed over 350 lbs, she had her surgery last month and now she is almost 310, her mother had the same results. The only way you can fail is to self sabotage, i.e. overeating, not walking. Small steps will make a big impact.
