I've lost 18# since surgery on 12/19 and 16# on my 2 weeks pre-op mostly liquid diet. I'm happy with 34# in 6 weeks. I think it could be more but I'm not getting 64 oz of liquids a day. I'm between 34 and 50 on most days. Did anyone get pain in their left shoulder and/or chest? Gas-X strips work wonders. Here's to getting lean in 2013!

My doc advanced me to mushy protein on day 3 and regular texture proteins (no red meat for 30 days) on day 14. I'm surprised some folks are still on liquids. Glad to see everyone's making great progress.

40 Y.O.,Obese since childhood, want to lose 150?

Kivtuar, I like that math tip...very encouraging to those of us wanting to lose 100+ pounds. You're right. There are several zeros that skew the average down to 50%. -
Agreed. This site brings the sleevers community together and facilitates necessary support from all over the world with such ease. Truly grateful for VST!

Itsmelee, add unflavored unjury to your liquids (not water) to get your proteins in. I've been adding 1-1.5 scoops and crystal light to my water and it tastes great. You'll have to order it online. Each scoop is 21 g of protein. Good luck!

Doing great! Still learning how to stay hydrated and get all of my proteins in. Thanks to Unjury and crystal light, I can make it some days without too much effort...drinking all day with breaks in between for mushy protein like my yummy Dannon Greek Yogurt. The others are not tasty! Happy New Year! This time next year we'll be living in healthier bodies!

Hi fellow December sleevers! I was sleeved on 12/19 and I'm feeling much better. I feel a twinge of pain when I laugh or sneeze, but not as bad as a week ago. I'm returning to normal activity, but I had to take a nap this afternoon. I guess I looked tired since my DH insisted on me getting some rest. Yesterday I walked just over 3/4 of a mile (at my own pace of course) and tried to shoot some basketballs with my 8-yr old. That lasted for all of 5 minutes... Anyway, I'm excited for what the future holds and I'm glad I'm on the losers' bench. I like how someone here said that this decision was a gift to myself and by extension my loved ones! Cheers and congrats to all for taking this important and critical step forward to longer, healthier and skinnier lives!

It made me want to vomit, but I couldn't. Awkward feeling! Thank goodness it only lasted about 1-2 hours, then I was fine. The benefit of knowing that I didn't have a leak was worth it...I think!?!

Glad you're home...be sure to get plenty of rest and stay hydrated.

Veteran sleevers one year or more

I'm new to this (just over a week), but I was under the impression that the restriction is forever, but the weight loss depends on what we eat and how much we move. Right? -

Hi! I'm a Dec. 19th sleever, too! Feeling so much better. I'm down 9# and couldn't tell by the way my jeans were fitting. I think our abdomens are still a bit swollen. Congrats to you on your 10! Headed to my doc for my post-op visit and then a few errands. -
Welcome! I'm a newbie, too. Congrats on your approval! I'm 6 days out adjusting to my sleeve and feeling pretty good. I'm up for this journey no matter what! Have a sleeved Christmas! It's so worth it!
