    Post op march sleevers

I love the CL peach iced tea, and for Protein powder I add Healthwise Lemonade. It's sort of like an Arnold Palmer if you add some crystal light lemonade to boost the lemon flavor.

What type of protein powder do you use? And what flavor?

    Boxing and getting enough calories

I'm 5 weeks post op, and I promise your body will adapt; you'll start to feel your energy come back soon, and you'll feel fine working out. I'm doing 600-700 calories a day (exceeding liquid requirement, meeting Protein requirement, and taking tons of vitamins) and I feel great. I work out 5x a week and net negative calories sometimes on those days. Just don't do anything too high intensity; then you might get exhausted because your body will be looking for nonexistent glucose stores. Mild to moderate exercise is best because your body can continue burning its own fat to get you through the workout, and you'll feel energized throughout.

    When does it get eaiser

I was a wreck for almost three weeks, then it turned around in the 4th. It's really hard but also REALLY temporary. And it might take longer for some people than others. Try to get yourself through these tough times and you WILL feel better.
  6. At my 1 month check in with my surgeon yesterday, and I told them I was getting 60-80g of Protein a day, and to my surprise their reaction was shock. I didn't think quick enough to ask them why, but they said that I really should just shoot for 60g. I thought it might have to do with the idea that more protein=more calories, but they said I shouldn't even be thinking about calories, Does anybody know why they wouldn't want me eating more than 60g of protein?

    ideal body type

Sorry for being the cornball that ruins the fun-ness of this thread but I've never been attracted to only one type of male body type and I am trying so hard to love myself and not compare myself to others that I've learned, over time, that I just want to be healthy. Whatever my body looks like is only something I can only control up to a point. So as much as I can, I try not to spend any part of my life wishing I wasn't myself. CORNY I know!

Over 60g of protein can be bad?

Yep. That's very similar to mine. I just don't know why getting protein on the higher end of that range is worrisome to them.
  9. Phew, I was like... So you lost 100+ lbs in 2 weeks? YES BE CONCERNED! Lol. I wouldn't worry about half pound a day. You're still relatively new post op and the human body does crazy things. What would be worthwhile is logging Fluid and food intake. Then you'll have some data that might help you figure out what is going on.
  10. Amazing!!! GREAT WORK!! You look like an entirely different person.

Over 60g of protein can be bad?

Haha thank you I'll have to make a note to ask. I'm one of those people that has a hard time following instructions without knowing why.
  12. I've lost the same amount I haven't stalled though (to me a stall this early out is more than 4 days or so at the same weight). My weight loss has been slow and steady and I'm happy with that. So proud of my progress!

Over 60g of protein can be bad?

    Has anybody heard something similar?

Over 60g of protein can be bad?

I don't understand that either, I thought Protein helped you repair muscle tissue after workouts... It seems odd that too much protein would lead to muscle breaking down. But I'm no doctor.

Over 60g of protein can be bad?

I know, right?!? They actually told me initially that was my range too, so I'm really confused.

    bmi low

Probably because your BMR is lower. Heavier people, say, a 300 lb woman might have a BMR of 2,600 calories a day. A 200 lb woman might have a BMR of 1,700 calories a day. So if both were sleeved and can only eat 1,000 calories a day, the heavier woman has a deficit of 1600 calories (almost a half pound of fat) for the day, whereas the lighter woman has a deficit of 700 calories (1/5 lb of fat) for the day.
  17. 4 weeks post op tomorrow, April 9. After a tough first few weeks I'm starting to feel optimistic again!

  18. Well I would say that your body is losing weight still. I bet a ton of that 25 lbs in the first 2 weeks was water. Now your body is burning actual fat, so while the scale doesn't move, you are losing REAL fat, not water.

    HELP! Decline in vision

Hm, well I'm glad that its not diabetes! Have you had an MRI of your head? Maybe there's a tumor... Not to scare you at all - I actually had a benign brain tumor that was pinching my optic nerve and it was just treated with medication and is gone now. It might be worth asking about. Let us know if there are any new developments. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

    Emotions ? !

It's very, very hard. I'm 4 weeks post op and I got so frustrated at the tiniest things. And I just wanted to eat, but of course I couldn't. It's a little analogous to how it feels to get dumped by an ex. Alone, hopeless, feeling like it will feel this awful forever. But I just kept telling myself that the way I'm feeling is normal, it gets better, and eventually goes away all together I'm doing much better now, and I'm beginning to see changes in how I look, and the hard times seem like they happened years ago. Hang on. What you're feeling is normal and very temporary.
  22. Awesome thank you so much! I just bought it. What a great find!
