Why am I a Slowwwwwwwww loser?
Cristin replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All of that depends on sooo many things. Even if you have the same BMI, if you are 5 feet tall and the other person is 6 feet tall, 1lb lost is not the same thing for both of you. 1lb lost on a shorter person is probably more like 1.5-2lbs lost on a larger person. So you guys might be big losers after all. -
The sleeve and hair loss.
Cristin replied to sncontreras's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
The hair loss is a byproduct of the rapid weight loss. Protein and Biotin won't stop or slow it more than a little. My surgeon said its just something you have to accept for a brief while. It will grow back! Hey I'd rather have half my hair for a couple months than not lose the weight -
Awesome. Thanks for the tip

I am on day 9 of my 800 cal/day preop liquid diet and I've been barely scraping by in my high stress job with barely any energy. Today I hit a wall and my vision is blurry, I can barely sit up, and I feel so weak I just want to burst into tears. I have so much work to get done and meetings where I have to be sharp and on point and I can barely remember my own first name. Has anyone else felt like this in their preop diet? What did you do about your job performance or work? Any advice?

[quote name="Heather86 )]I felt like that during the stall I just got out of.. everyone always asked and I just want to hide' date=' whereas before the stall I would've smiled and told them. It's kind of embarrassing to me, it's like I'm failing, somehow.[/quote'] I would just tell people politely, "Oh I just don't like to talk about my weight." You don't owe them anything but I don't think they're trying to be offensive so they still deserve civility, but I'm big on kindness over anything else, and am pretty mild mannered. If they've been royal pains and you've already told them to stop, then an f off might be more effective

Oh my GOSH that seems like so little! I have 4-5 shakes a day with 20 g each. Good on you for surviving that!

It's so weird, I thought cravings would be the hard part, but I have hardly had any. It's just the energy levels.

Hahaha that made me laugh love it, that is good news I'm going to try to take the next three workdays before my surgery as half days if I can. Hopefully my NUT gets back to me soon. You guys are the best, thanks!

Anyone travelled long haul for surgery ie. Australia - Mexico?
Cristin replied to pandashazz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oops, sorry - I meant to quote Sharon, not Aussie lady. $4,500 is a at least what you'd pay in MX, but you'd have to add 2,000-3,000 for travel expenses. If stay in AUS if I were you, -

3 months will be a piece of cake. I had to do 6 months. Some people have to do a year. It's rare that anybody gets approval without a couple months of supervision. And although your doc has seen you for 10 months now, he will need to see you monthly and take very specific notes for insurance. Hang in there. We've all been through it. It's just a right of passage. I promise you it will fly by!

I'm from the South Bend area and am going to Memorial Weight Loss and Bariatrics (I HIGHLY recommend them - they focus on making over your mind as well, and really teach you everything you need to succeed; there's a NUT, a counselor, and an insurance pro in addition to the surgeon). My surgery is March 13! It took 8 months to get a date after all the insurance and testing but I'm so happy it's finally close!

It depends on how you met online. A dating site is fine probably. Craigslist... Not so much. But I think great relationships can start online and sex is part of flirtation. Just be yourself and don't worry about anything but being honest with him. And yeah, make sure the date is in a public place just to be safe. But this really is a new era. People meet online all the time. Sounds really exciting and fun!! Just like you would want to do with any guy, don't let him push or pressure you into anything you're not ready for. And have fun!!!

HELP Stall i cannot get out of!
Cristin replied to Mommy sleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
... I think I'm going to throw my scale out after my surgery. The only numbers I want to have to worry about exercise and nutrition related. But dang not having a sale would be hard! -
