    Feeling full?

Would I feel full longer if I actually "ate" more (low fat cream soup, cream of wheat, mashed potato) and drank less?

    No Appetite

Do you have any anti nausea meds? They helped me a lot. I was gagging before that.
  3. I'm participating in family events and holidays, just differently . I am 6 days post op and I've been getting broth out and I don't mind it. It takes me forever to "eat" anyway. I actually get to enjoy what is going on around me more. I can say I have wanted to taste some of the food they have had but not enough to have regrets. My family kept asking why I was doing it before the holidays and my thought was the same as some others - there will never be a perfect time. Here is to creating new and healthy holiday traditions!

My doc said no to ensure. I think for the reasons Dobeigh says above. Isopure really high in protein but you have to taste the different flavors to find ones you like. They are tolerable but not great. Healthy Shot is another but I haven't tried it.

    weird burps

I had same thing. Could be related to the upper GI stuff you drink or the protein drinks. I didn't really pass gas out of the bottom. All from the top.
  8. Exactly the same reason I did it - for me to be able to really enjoy and participate with my little ones. I feel pretty good right now. The first day after surgery was rough and I was having doubts/regrets but hang in there. It gets better and better every day. I have very little pain and it has been that way from the get go. I only took pain meds 3-4 times since leaving the hospital. I have been nauseous here and there and the anti nausea meds help with that. I also got diet ginger ale and let it go completely flat and that helped as well. Drinking is different. You really have to do small little sips which means it takes a long time to drink anything. I have focused my liquids on protein to make sure i get it in. If you haven't bought it yet, make sure you do because you may not feel like it right after. They don't taste great but are tolerable. You will be gassy. I have been burping more than anything else. I'm already down 13 pounds and just had my surgery on Tuesday. Hang in there! Stay positive! Know that you will have ups and downs! I read a lot of posts on here post surgery to validate how I was feeling and it made me feel better to know someone else can relate
  9. I had mine on the 18th and felt the same way. You will go through self doubt and then excitement over and over again both pre and post surgery. Just know that it is worth it for your future.
  10. It is totally and completely your decision as an individual. No one can tell you what you should do. Just know that whatever you do it was the right decision for you! Good luck:)
  11. Well it's great to know I am not alone . I came home from the hospital and felt great. The next day was a sharp downturn. I felt horrible. It has been getting better each day since then (i am 5 days post op). I still have periods during the day that aren't great and others where I feel pretty good. I am doing pretty well with getting protein and fluids in. I don't like the Isopure but able to get it in and keep it down. I also get pain in my chest from time to time and find if I stand and move around it helps. Not much gas from the bottom but I can now belch like the best of them . Looking forward to getting some additional variety in my diet in a few days. The broth, Isopure, and water thing is getting old. I have been afraid to try jello. Has anyone tried and had any issues? I didn't drink enough when I took one of my pills and it got stuck and spooked me a bit.

    Today was rough.

I am also 5 days post op. I have the nauseousness throughout the day too... off and on. I think it's a combo of drinking things that taste nasty and not drinking enough. Sometimes I feel great, other times not. I also sometimes have pain from drinking. It is definitely getting better. I've been lucky to get the Isopure down. I thought I didn't like the Alpine Ice until I tried the Blue Raspberry and Orange .
  13. I had mine on the 18 th too. I didn't have to do anything special but just had one today. Not like a normal one but something.
