19 Lbs down gain back 3 Lbs
Dobeigh replied to Determined_Me's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I waswed to have soft food one week after surgery. I was allowed to have soft food one week after surgery. I did go through a stall, right around 10 days also. Eventually you will lose. Quit weighing yourself everyday, you will drive yourself crazy! As long as you are taking in a decent amount of Protein and drinking your Water, and not eating too many calories: you will lose. Deep breath! -
What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
Dobeigh replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Being almost 300 pounds. I kept telling myself if I didn't lose weight, I'm going to get bariatric surgery. For years, I told myself this. I couldn't let myself get to 300 pounds. So my top weight was 297. -
Do any of you, who have had your sleeve done, feel like you are more free now than before you had your sleeve? I feel so free! I can eat anything I want without fear of gaining weight. It is very freeing! Of course, I can only take a couple bites of whatever I want but even still... I feel a lot free'er than I did pre-sleeve. I went to a bonfire and had a couple bites of a hot dog and a couple bites of macaroni salad!

WTG!!!

Lord yes. I can eat anything! Nothing bothers me unless I eat something that is too sweet or rich or eat too much. I can only eat a couple bites and then I'm done. Today, I did pretty good. I ate 1/5 pound of angus beef for Breakfast. And then I made me a sandwich for lunch (took all day to eat), and now I'm having a Greek yogurt. As long as I chew my food good, it doesn't hurt. If I don't, it sits in my chest and hurts soooo bad! My tastes have changed too. I'm glad I tried the pizza because now I know I don't like it any more and it's not constantly on my mind. I was only able to take a couple bites of it, and it was enough to know that it doesn't do what it used to do for me any more.

I've noticed, since my surgery was only Feb 26, that my brain wants things that my taste buds don't like any more. Like, I ordered a cheese pizza from Papa Johns and I didn't like it! Papa Johns used to be my FAVORITE pizza. And I didn't like it any more. I also tried to eat a philly cheese steak from Penn Station and GROSS! It was sooo greasy and salty, I couldn't handle it. I just threw it away! Things that are healthier are more appealing to my taste buds but my brain is still learning. Very interesting!!!

I'm NOT gonna let myself get dehydrated. Every day since Tuesday, I've had 30 oz or less of water per day. I have GOT to get more fluids! It's GUZZLE TIME!!!!!!! Hopefully I don't get sick!!! lol

Yes! All the time. It's getting better though because once I try to eat what I want and it doesn't taste like I remember it, I'm done. Lol

Lying about Weight Loss Surgery !

I tell everyone except for my nursing instructors because they won't let me do my clinicals if they find out until approved by the doc. I can't wait that long!! -
OK! What do you think?

I had surgery the same day as you and I'm not losing any right now either. The past couple days. It will eventually come off. Just keep doing what you are doing! =) Our bodies are just in shock, that is all LOL! =) -
I think I'm about to go through a stall. I've been around 276/275 for the past couple days. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago and have lost a total of 20 pounds since then!

No More Mr. Nice Dobeigh!
Dobeigh replied to Dobeigh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm doing wonderful! I just started to force myself to drink a crap load of water, no matter how much I didn't want to drink. I didn't throw up and now I'm able to drink water like normal, except when eating. I'm not dehydrated any more. If I haven't eaten in a while, I can literally drink as much as I did before surgery. -
Okay... so time to get personal!!! Ever since surgery, I've had TERRIBLE diarrhea. Has anyone else had this? How long did it last? Because I'm HURTIN'! OUCH!
-
Good idea!
-
I was wondering if my body was absorbing the fluid I have been drinking! I know this is kinda personal too but my urine stinks sooooo bad! I wonder if I'm getting dehydrated from the diarrhea....
-
I would say if it helped you before and made you feel better before, it wouldn't hurt to try (especially if you are having a funk!).
-
OH! And my wedding ring fits better. =)

Well, I just had surgery a week ago but I've already had one NSV. I got in my car to go drive around and noticed my seat belt was a little looser. I almost maxed it out prior to surgery and now there is a little wiggle room!

Tired of just drinking water any other solutions
Dobeigh replied to Sami43's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
ooo hot chocolate sounds sooo good! I'm gonna try that and the sweet tea! -
Has anyone noticed any taste bud changes after surgery? I made some mashed potatoes tonight and it tasted like an ash tray to me LOL! It was GROSS! I also noticed the EAS drinks I used to drink when I was on a low carb diet taste like poop! I can't even drink them any more. It seems like a lot of the protein drinks, I'm having problems with. They are just Plain Gross!

I'm only 1 week out but I've already lost 16 pounds. I think I'm going to love my sleeve. -
