I also take 6 calcium chews a day and it is my nutritionist guidelines, I know diff docs and nutritionists vary a bit, but mine made a big deal about the calcium especially in women. -

Thank you, I'm 5'4 1/2! -
Yikes guys, a lot of grumpiness on here, lol! Maybe we should all stop for a min and have a snack or Protein shake or something! Anyways just so you know there's a lot of yummy recipes in the food forum for the purred phase. So just wanted to tell you if you look up some new recipes that may help your hunger. I know for me one of my biggest problem was getting bored with food, so sometimes just mixing it up helped with my hunger. Good luck

When does it get better
Taradawn15 replied to Ashlee K's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me, the first 6 weeks where very hard. After that it seemed like every week got easier and easier. However I didn't feel really normal and begin enjoying my kitchen and meals again until about 6 months out. Now at 9 months out I am in love with my kitchen again as I love to cook and play around in the kitchen. I still have bad days but they are few and far between. Just keep moving forward and it will get better. Good luck in your journey! -

Here's me at my heaviest 251, me 51 pounds down and me a week ago at 145, 106 pounds down and so excited about it! 10 more pounds and it will be time to work on maintaining! -
So the last month for me has been so great, but as for my tracking food and watching what I'm eating not so great though I did learn a lot. My husband came home for 3 weeks from his year long tour in Korea and that was amazing. He was followed by family that came in town from Norway. So needless to say I was not being so faithful on watching what I was eating. Luckily I didn't over eat much, it was more that what I was eating was junk. I actually found that when I don't monitor my eating I way under eat for a few days and then have a day or two of being crazy hungry and the cycle continues. So starting today I am back on track with my eating and exercising,

Here's a quick update, we didn't even make it out of the airport parking lot! He couldn't keep his hands off and that was amazing. My husband did know how much weight I lost but hasn't seen really since Dec when he left. I had my surgey in Oct so I had lost about 40 pound before he left and now have lost another 60 since then so it's a pretty big change. Thanks guys for all the amazing positive comments, I am loving my sleeve life!

Yay, just about 8 months out and I have hit my initial goal of 100 pounds! I'm so excited, when I started this process this was my goal weight, I changed it a bit so I'm not at goal yet but I am 100 pounds down, Yay, yay, yay! The best part is my husband comes home for his mid tour leave tomorrow, so I get to show of my 100 pound lighter body to him! Here's a pic of the outfit I will be picking him up from the airport in. I wanted to also make sure I said a huge THANK YOU to everyone on here who has been so supportive in this journey. You guys rock!

Getting your energy back
Taradawn15 replied to BelleShelly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was able to move around and drive less than a week out, however my lack of energy was outrageous. I couldn't go more than 2-3 hours before I needed a nap the first 2 weeks. After that I it was a nap twice a day till 3 weeks out and then 1 nap a day between 3-5 weeks. After that I was fine, I believe that really slow recover compared to some people, I actually felt fine the whole time, not a lot of pain at all for me. I was just so tired all the time. I worked from home right afterward also and around 2 -3 weeks is when I began to feel like I could accomplish thing, slowly, lol! -
I started at 251, I am now 151! Yay, thanks guys for all the support, getting on here is like going to see that favorate friend that always makes you laugh. I have a few more hours before my hubby gets in, I am so excited I can hardly contain myself. I will put details up in a few day. :-p

I'm 7 1/2 months out and this still comes and goes for me. Right around 6 months is when eating really began to not be such a pain for me. And still now I have days where 500 calories feels fine but I know it's not I need to get at least 800 or I won't lose any weight. Just keep at it and introduce gentle foods first. Good luck

Um I have love that I got my sleeve, am wouldn't change it for the world. That being said my boobs are not small then they where when I was in high school before I gained all my weight. I was naturally before weight gain a 34D a large D after I gained I was 40F and a large F. Now 7 1/2 months later and almost 100 pounds down I got measured at Victoria Secret I am a 36B, oh my gosh a B. I actually teared up when she told. My boobs have always been one of my favorate things about my body and now well they are gone. I am learning to deal with it and am saving to get them bigger and lifted. However again I would choose small boobs and being healthy over my big boobs any day, but it is a bit depressing I will say, lol!

Since I've had my sleeve 7 1/2 months ago I now always cramp the whole week before my period. Then when I start the cramping stops. So weird but I guess the changes toour bodies affect everyone differently. Good luck and if it doesn't go away soon I would see a doctor.

Exercise and calorie intake :)
Taradawn15 replied to mariamitani's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I go to the gym Monday - Saturday, I do an hour of cardio and 30ish mins of strength. I am 7 1/2 months out and range between 800 and 900 calories a day. At first I was very worried about the same thing as I also have 3 young children and my husband is away with the military. I need to have enough energy to handle whatever may arise. The first month was a bit of a struggle, I actually did faint twice but it ended up have nothing to do with my calories. It was my water intake and lack of carbs that was 100 percent to blame! Now I've been at it about 5 months and when I miss a day I feel so much more tired, working out has doubled my energy. Good luck on your journey -
Ok, I debated about posting this as I'm still bit insecure about all my loose extra skin but my hubby said its not very noticeable in these pics and I so wanted to share. We went to the beach for Mother's Day on Sunday and it was the first time I have worn a bathing suit without a huge coverup dress in the last 9 years. Here are two pics I'm 7 months out and 90 pounds down, about 15-20 pounds to go!

Explaining your weight loss
Taradawn15 replied to Indigo1991's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also only told a very select few, however I was lucky and did not return to work as we moved shortly after my surgey. How well do you know your coworkers? If your not very close to them then I see no problem with being very vague about it. You can be discrete and not lie. I personally didn't have to lie and still was able to not share my personal business. I have learned on here that people variety quiet a bit on this topic, only you can decide what's right for you. I took some slack from some people in my hospitals support group for telling someone that I was working hard and following an extremely stricken diet because a few felt like it was lying, I personal felt like it was completely true, I do follow a very strict diet and I work out 6 days a week, for me the last few months my weightless has been almost like a full time job and I do not feel like it was a lie but I learned quickly that many people do not agree with that so anyways I said all that just to say you need to do what's best for you. Good luck and good job on your weightless so far. -
Hey, I am about 6 1/2 months out and nearing my goal weight. I can eat just about anything, not that I do. However I am trying to figure what my "lifetime" diet is going to look like. A lot of people are doing gluten free diets on here and the Paleo diet. To be honest all this is confusing to me. My Nut here is not very much help as she keeps telling me it will very from person to person and I have to find what works best for me. I appreciate that she's all for doing what's right for my body, but I could use some basic guide lines. Like what should my life long calorie intake should be, right now I'm normally around 800. Is that where it should stay. Anyways thanks for any help

This just happened to me this weekend, I was crazy busy and had not prepared we'll for the day. It was 2 and I had not eaten at all and someone handed me a donut, my first one in 7 months. Oh man did it put me in a crazy carb hunger mode for like 24 hours, which sadly I would have to say I caved to. So I'll be doing some extra workouts this week to be burning it all off and steering clear of all processed sweets like that. Glad I read about it here so I know it's not to uncommon. Thanks all
