Hello dana,,,tomorrow i am sleeved too. Guess what??? I feel like i am coming down with a cold, my nose is stopped up and i have a crazy cough...omg,,,this just started 2 hours ago. Its the devil trying to discourage me and put hurdles in my way. The devils a liar,i am not gonna get sick and i will have a great surgery and recovery!!!Good luck to you Dana

Well everyone....I guess I can say omg its my time tomorrow. Yes oh yes I am nervous...my stomach is killing me(IBS)...I have a real bad headache, I have so much to do around the house, glad I took off work today.From now until midnight, I can only drink clear liquids. I have to wake up early and get on the highway to travel to my surgery hospital...3hours away..so with that being said, no sleep for me tonight..lol..I will definitely keep everyone posted about my recovery. I will be getting the spider technique with 1incision..lets see how this will work out...good luck to all Sleevers, past and recent and those that go in tomorrow like myself.

Good luck...my prayers for a speedy recovery to you. My day is the 31st..i am nervous as heck and i know i wont be able to sleep the night before..lol,,

what antacid medication are you taking? Otc or prescribed?

hello everyone, i am getting sleeved on January 31st and i can't stop eating all my favorite foods i won't eat again in excess. I have my days mapped out as to what i will be eating. this weekend i ate donuts (which i stopped eating years ago), kingcake, seafood buffet on fri and sat night. Monday i will eat buffalo wild wings , tuesday i will eat boiled shrimp, crabs and spicy boiled crawfish, that morning i will eat Ihop egg omelet. wednesday is the day i have to drink liquids after 10am.. i am getting nervous and i cant stop eating. i hope my poor eating habits isnt an indication that i will have trouble after getting sleeved. Has anyone else ate their favorite foods a few days before surgery? Good luck everyone, i hope i carve my cravings before surgery, lol.

Thanks everyone!!!! This food funeral of mines is coming to and end...i thought i had it out my system in December but i guess its due to me being nervous, very very nervous , 3 days away and knowing that i am going into this not telling no one but my daughter about this lifetime journey i am about to embark on. My food choices , especially the seafood is something i know i will not be able to eat the same way because i love highly spicy boiled seafood, the sweets is something i am not much a fan of so i am ok with eliminating that because this new journey is something that i will be totally commited to. In my eyes i am getting these food choices out of my system and i will be making more healthy food choices. And Dana..yes i am in Louisiana near Lake Charles, lots of hot spicy seafood and kingcakes during Mardi Gras time..lol.. I am driving 3 hours to Hammond, La to have my vertical sleeve done with the spider technique,,, 1 incision and shorter recovery time. Thanks again everyone!!! I will keep everyone in touch with my experience

Hello...I am 1 week pre op before my surgery on the 31st. I only told my daughter...I didn't tell my parents nor my siblings nor my friends or coworkers. I feel bad for having my daughter to bare all this by herself and we have to drive 3 hours away to the hospital. She said she is afraid for me and I am feeling bad for her, but my surgery will go on. Good luck to everyone and I truly feel that this journey is only to be shared with whomever we feel is supportive to us.

my nut told me to get citracal petites, crush it and put it in water and it will dissolve easily. im still pre op so im still taking it whole

Hi Shaye, i asked my doctor if i needed to do any pre op diet and his response was, "no, i dont make my patients diet before the surgery, why make you struggle with liquids before surgery when you will be on liquids after surgery. so it seem as though doctors dont request the same, but i will do my own pre op liquid diet to get used of it early and it no be such a shock afterwards.

Today i completed my pre op exams. i had to drive 3 hrs to the hospital and i had blood drawn, urine sample, ekg, chest xray and talk with nutritionist. i didnt have to do the test where they insert a cam down my throat and look at my stomach,(whew). now i just have to wait to the 31st for my sleeve day, i will be getting the spider technique with 1 incision. I do not have to do any pre op diet, jus to drink liquids after 10 am the day before surgery and nothing after midnight. wash stomach area with hibiclens the night before and the morning before surgery. i will stay in the hospital for 1 day and released the following day. then i will have a 3 hour ride back home after surgery. the nurse said i will have to stop each hour and walk to keep my stomach from getting stiff. i hope and pray i am in minimal pain.

Hello everyone, my pre-op testing is jan 17th. i am nervous because i have been experiencing a light burning sensation in my stomach, i hope the test dont show anything that might hinder my surgery date for the 31st; but i would love to know what it is, ( hernia, ulcer, etc...) i am having the vsg with the spider technique with 1 incision. i have never been nervous for preop testing... say a prayer for me everyone; i will keep everyone posted about my pre-op experience.

I will be sleeved on Jan 31st in Baton Rouge, La by Dr Andrew Hargroder. He came highly recommended. He did my relatives sleeve and she look great. So i will be traveling to Baton Rouge to get sleeved. (3 hour drive)

My surgery is scheduled for Jan 31st with my pre-op appt in Jan 17th in Louisiana

hello everyone, well my surgery date has been moved from jan, 24 to jan 31st. im still excited because i get to eat all my favorite foods a lil longer (boiled shrimp and fried shrimp, boiled crabs and fried crabs and boiled crawfish). i got the call from the hosp for my preop appt on the 17th. Now its beginning to feel real and i feel a lil excited but nervous.

My surgery is set for Jan 24... 3 hours away from my city. I'm waiting for the hospital to call me with the post-op appt for the pre exams. I am excited and highly nervous at the same time because i am highly highly lactose intolerant...ugh. i am experimenting on protein powders and drinks now to see which ones i can tolerate especially the popular ones everyone seem to be using (isopure clear) ordered unjury and nectar (not in yet). Listen to what i am doing...my daughter is the only one in the world who knows i am going through this WLS...well, everyone in our family was purchased a plane ticket to go to a family function and its 3 weeks after my surgery. Lots of eating out will be involved and im not sure how i will be able to eat , oops drink my drinks and keep up the secret of me not eating food at the restaurants with the family by only drinking and sipping soups,,,this will be a MAJOR challenge along with dealing with the after effects of the surgery....ughhhh pray for strength for me please!!!

hello...i'm new to this site, my surgery is scheduled for January 25th, my doctor said no pre-op diet is necessary just clear liquids after 12 noon the day before surgery.
