    I Gave In ????

You want to be careful because your sleeve is at its most fragile right now, but I'm not going to beat you over the head with that but you surely realize doing this increased your risks for complications. Can I ask you an unrelated question though? How come you type with capitalization on the first letter of every word? Totally random, I was just curious.

    Coffee talk

I am a coffee fanatic. The thing about coffee though, truly good coffee should not require sugar

    Who did you tell?

I told my husband, my parents, his parents, and two friends. No one else.
  4. I ate ALL THE THINGS before I went on my pre-op diet but I still managed to lose weight. Hilarious. I wasn't trying but what would happen was that I wanted lets say... pizza at lunch, so I would order pizza with my husband and I would eat SO MUCH that I ended up fasting the rest of the day, not on purpose, but I was just feeling nasty because I ate like a pig in the middle of the day. I did get that out of my system though because you need to take the preop diet seriously. It chaps my azz when people talk about disreguarding their pre-op diet instructions. I wasn't perfect but you HAVE to take it seriously or you really are taking your life into your hands.

HELP! NEED MORE CALORIES IN MY DIET

Why do you need more than 900 calories? Has your weight loss stopped?

    slimy piece of #$@%

I don't think 600 calories is a lot for 4 weeks out. I think that 500-800 range is a sweet spot for most people, actually, so I think you are good there. You will learn what feels right for you. I am 40 days post op and for me 800 is very very comfortable. More than likely you were just fne the way you were, I wouldn't feel like you need to stuff yourself because of what other people think.

    An interesting observation

Just be careful not to swing to far in the opposite direction. Neither are healthy. You don't want to love food too much, you don't want to hate it too much either. I don't cringe at food anymore but I do cringe at disgusting mountains of artless, classless junk. Appreciate REAL good food. The buckets of fried chicken have lost their appeal, but I do have an appreciation a good formal meal in upscale restaurants where the portions are small and the prices are high lol.

How manys calories/carbs should i take in?

I am 40 days post op, i stick to a pretty steady 800 calories a day and I try not to have more than 50 carbs. Some days I'm a little over or under, but that is what I shoot for.

    Frozen Yogurt Six days out?

I went to orange leaf with my husband on my 7th day post op (NOT a good call) Yeah, I did it though, and I'm owning it, but I really wished I hadn't. It made me feel quite sick.

    How is this possible?

People say its impossible to stretch a sleeve but if I learned anything in nursing school it's that there are almost NEVER absolutes, and especially with bariatric patients - where there is a will, there is a way. I absolutely believe that if you eat to your absolute max capacity all the time, and push it a little from time to time, this WILL result in dilation. Can I prove that? Nope, but you hear these types of things all the time of people eating amounts of food that should be 'impossible' You can gain weight with a sleeve, and I would bet money if you try hard enough you can dilate the sleeve. Thats a big reason I discourage soda for sleeve patients, even though some people claim their doctor says its fine and all that.

    my foods, what's wrong...so frustrated..

I notice two things, you say that you are up and down compared to yesterday. I know you have probably heard it a thousand times but you should not do this to yourself. weigh once or twice a week. I weigh twice. One is an official weigh in, one is a progress checker and that is it. By weighing yourself every day or way to often at least you are getting FAR too caught up in the details of day to day calories instead of the overall bigger picture. Stop doing that to yourself. Also, I took a look at your profile to see your surgery date and it looks like you are close to three months out if I am not mistaken, and about 30 pounds down. 10 pounds a month isn't terrible, but I share in your pain that we all expect better than that after weight loss surgery. If you are really eating the things you listed and not wavering from that too too much, then my only explanation is that you are underestimating how much you are eating in terms of volume. Do you weigh out everything? I swear by my kitchen scale. I am not as strict about what types of things I have, because I weigh everything and its really hard to go wrong if you never eat more than 4 ounces at a time. Most people underestimate the volume they eat by at least 50%, meaning, they think they are having 200 calories but they are really having 300. 100 extra calories is not THAT big of a deal, but when you do that multiple times a day most people are eating 400-600 calories more than they think they are.

    Worse photo ever!

mine is on my profile page as my "before" picture. Was taken the day of my nursing school graduation. I am only about 40 days out but my face already looks WAY different and my midsection is reduced noticeably.

    masturbation or sex safe?

most say when you feel up to it. I wasn't in the mood till I had my drain taken out the week after.

    Sleeve: The UNTOLD Story

For this reason and many more, I would never have the VSG in Mexico. That being said, I am quite aware of my privlage in life. I was born into a great family with a certain amount of money and Cadillac insurance plans. I don't judge, because had I not had access to the type of insurance I have, I might have found myself in mexico too, but I think it is important for people to realize that in most cases, its going to be very different than what you could expect in the states.

Suprised at how much of an a** my husband is being

most people are moody after this surgery. I'm not saying you ARE, but you might want to take a step back and try to smooth things over, for whatever the reason, especially women... this effects us emotionally more than we like to admit.
  17. Life Pro Tip: this woman is NOT your friend do yourself a favor and shake her loose NOW. I know what this is like. I had a very good friend for QUITE some time but there were issues in the relationship that were easy to overlook. These issues were brought to the forefront when I told her I was having surgery. She let her true colors show just a little bit too much. If that is what she is calling you to her face, and she as other people in on the act what do you think she says about you when you are not around? Shake her loose. Let her go. She MIGHT feel like you are cheating, she also might just be jealous the reasons do not matter.

    question for women

I have never heard of this and cannot think of a reason why that would be true. That being said, I could be wrong.

I feel like I am a slow loser!

After I had surgery, I lost week that first week, and then did not lose a single pound for THREE WEEKS. I have no idea why but that is extremely common, but it suuuuuucks. Just keep going, follow the rules. It's way too soon to declare that you are a slow loser or anything like that. It will pass, I promise. trust the process. You cannot maintain your weight with the amount of calories you are taking it. There is more than that at play here, which is why you might be stuck here for longer than you like, but just keep going.

    Bacon!

It's not a terrible idea to remove yourself from the situation. Pre-op diets are hard. It's easier post op once you get back to normal foods becase you CAN have some, but right now... Just got to fight it out and muscle your way though. Ask her to open a window and light a candle too, bacon smell lingers... lol

    It works body wraps.

    scammy scam scam.

    Incision question!

Meh, what did your doctor tell you? I waited to use anything until mine were pretty well scabbed over.
  23. I had some noticeable hormonal issues RIGHT after surgery, so it could be, but at 9 days post op I just wonder if you are not getting all the product rinsed out of your hair. Sometimes we are not as careful as we should be while we are sore. Also, I have had the experience of using the same shampoo and conditioner for a long time and it was great until suddenly one day it started building up in my hair really bad and I needed to switch to something else. So it might also be a coincidence. My best advice would be to shampoo your roots again, and if it happens again switch products.
  24. sounds more like psychosomatic food cravings, rather than true hunger.
