Hi everyone! I was banded 2 12 weeks ago... and have been having headaches so bad that I can't pick my head up off my pillow and feel like dracula in the light! I dragged myself to the computer hoping that someone can tell me that they went through this too. Last week I had 3 days of headaches and then again yesterday and today. I am litterally squinting my eyes! I tried chugging my daughters liquid tylonal, but it is so sweet it makes me want to throw up.... so I am scared to try that again! Anyone know any natural headache releif??? I am desperate! Thanks! Becca

Thank you all for your wonderful ideas! I ended up going to urgent care on Weds. night. I have always had a low bp 117/70 and a great heart rate. I even got a compliment from the cardiologist before my surgery about having an athletic heart! Ironic as that is! Anyway... one of my friends is a neonatal nurse and she said that I was acting pre-eclamtic if I were pregnant so she suggested getting my bp checked. So I went to one of the grocery store testers and it came out at 149/87! Which is super high for me! So I immediately went to urgent care and they ran some tested ( blood sugar, bp etc..) At this time 45 min later they got 128/74 for my bp and explained that sometimes the grocery store bp machines are not regulated and can be false... so I was relieved and the dr. then explained that if I was in a lot of pain from my headache that it could raise my bp. To make a long story shorter he decided that I was in fact having a severe migraine and sent me home with imitrex and ultram. So I have basically been in bed in the dark since then. It is a catch 22, the medicine made the headache better, but made me sooo dizzy and a little nauseas. The good thing is that I never threw up but I also didn,t feel like eating! I drank as much hot tea and water as possible though. But today I feel better and I am starving! I did manage to lose a little more weight (yeaaaa). Thanks again everyone!

Hey ya'll, My first confession 5 days out! I am supposed to be on clear liquid..ie..broth,gatorade,liquid jello, tea, etc.. And I have been absolutely hungry. It seems like everything is going right through me and I am sure it is....sooooo I tried a fudgsicle which led to sugar free pudding last night. This morning when I woke up I was still hungry and I decided that since the pudding didn't hurt me I should try a protien shake. And now after sipping water and crystal lite all day, I got hungry again. I have resorted to my old ways of standing in front of the food pantry trying to find anything to stick to my ribs. I found a package of instant mashed potatoes and made them with chicken broth and a little water to thin it out. I just keep thinking if I can get it through a straw it is ok.....so then I added cheese and melted it and stirred....then added a little milk and stirred until it was really thin but creamy. I am sure that I haven't done as bad as I could have, but I really wanted to stick to Dr's orders. So now my one mess up of pudding on clear liquid led all the way to mashed potatoes!!!!! I only ate about 7 spoonfuls and feel full for the first time since surgery, but now I feel like a cheater . And I don't know how I am going to go back to clear liquid for 3 more days.... I Need a PEP talk... I know what I did was wrong for the weight loss aspect but I really am concerned that I may have messed up the healing process, even though I have no pain (except port incision...) Did anyone else go through this??? -

I am newly banded so this is a great way to get to see everyone and their inspirations! I am posting a picture of my hubby, daughter and myself at halloween. I think that it is an inspiration because even though I haven't had a very positive self image lately, it still reflects how much we love each other! http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/groups/g_7534190/Becca/halloween+2004.....pre-op.jpg?bcLKA5BBk60Z5IU_

Hi Everyone! Thought I would give an update as a sit in the LA airport for another 6 hours!!! Our flight got bumped and now we are sitting in El Cholo Cantina and my hubby is still eating mexican food believe it or not! I may have messed up on my liquid phase (a little)... I had strained tortilla Soup that was a little spicy and very tomato-y... I think that Dr. Ortiz said guidelines are meant to be broken occasionally but I don't think he meant day 3! My incisions are getting a little sore from sitting here, but besides that I feel great! No gas pains in the shoulders, however I keep feeling like I need to hiccup but it is getting caught inside and causing my stomach to lurch. That is the only way I can describe it! Anyway... If anyone has helpful hints on how to get through this liquid stage I would love to hear them! I am having the worst case of variety deprivation! I feel like I couldn't possibly do anymore chicken broth! And with 5 more days of liquids to go I need something else! Hello to Crystal and Lisa and Dana...hope you guys are doing well! It was great to meet you! Thats it for now! Becca:D
