A pediatric oncologist. Not so useful as I haven't taken care of adults in 15 years.

If you have food addiction issues, I think I would follow the advice of your therapist to make sure you're not setting yourself up for failure.

That is a quite interesting question. I'm a physician and would join in a second. Unfortunately I am a bit sub-specialized and most likely not so useful. I nearly joined after med school, but was a smidge over the body fat limit. I guess I will just continue to support the wounded veterans groups.

On you, it really works well.... Some other guys...not so much. Agree with the comments about the comb over.....and even worse is the bald/mullet ugh

I put canned chicken and tuna in a food chopper. It makes it goes down much easier.

Relationship issues after surgery?
JennCH replied to Dreamingofhealth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm glad to hear the good and the bad. My husband is 5 foot 6 and 350. I lost about 20# before surgery and even though he was supportive, he asked me why I just didn't keep doing what I was doing since I lost the weight. I explained the yo-yo for the last 25 years. He said he was going to try and lose weight and has been walking, but his eating is still awful but he won't listen to gentle suggestions. I'll admit that in the last 2 months, I've gained tons of confidence and have kinda come to resent his lack of wanting to be healthier. I think it is all me, but I guess I've kinda become selfish because I am seeing that there is a lot more to life than I had when I was fat. -
Glad to hear others are in the same boat.

Has anyone in the over 40 crowd noticed their libido increasing significantly as they lose weight? Weird question I know, but I am interested because it seems like a lot of things are changing as I lose weight.

Alternative to Protein Shake?
JennCH replied to kimikat3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am right there with you. I never thought I would be tired of shakes, but I am so tired of sweet I can't stand it. I have taken to the unjury chicken soup. I need to try the unflavored in koolaid again and try that. Seems more palatable that way. -
I've had severe GERD for 20 years (way before I was fat). I was quite concerned about it with the sleeve and almost went with the RNY. I am now 6 weeks out and am on 1/2 the prilosec I used to take and have had zero problems even when I've forgotten to take it. I've been pleasantly surprised and tell you to not let it scare you off. My doc told me that the big incision was harder than the others because there was a stitch through the muscle wall that the other incisions didn't require

How bad is the end result of magnesium citrate?
JennCH replied to mactrio's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Agree with good reading material, good toilet paper, and wipes. One thing that is nice too is some baby diaper cream so your butt doesn't get raw from all the wiping. -
Pain when I lay down/get up from bed
JennCH replied to LG1981's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc said it was from the stitches through the muscles. It does go away -
to mosh or not to mosh
JennCH replied to xlovexdangerxmagickx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mosh pit for Pink Floyd. That is tragic. I always thought Pink Floyd was for sitting in the stands smoking some weird smelling cigarettes -

I'm almost 6 weeks out and still slime when I over eat...especially anything remotely dense.
