    9 months, 134 pounds - Pics included :)

You look great. Keep doing what you're doing and thanks for the pics. I'm encouraged that one day I, too, will have a fabulous "after" pic to share.
  2. "At this point I’m transferred to a manger or some higher up sociopath." My favorite line. Funny. Thanks.

    Drank too much

I felt lightheaded and actually used the word loopy in describing how I felt to my doctor at my 1 wk appt. It got better with each passing day and I felt A LOT better by the end of week two.

How do you get your protein in a day

At 8 weeks out, I'm still not getting enough protein. Visiting my NUT this week, she suggested the following snacks. 1/4 cup almonds, greek yogurt, and 1/2 a high protein bar (20g +) 2x a day. During the liquid and pureed stage, I was told to keep on trying to reach the daily protein goal, but she admitted that she didn't expect me to get there for a few weeks. Keep working at it!

One week post-sleeve op. - hmmmmmm

Hi. I'm sorry you've had a rough start. I am almost 8 weeks out and I can relate to some of your experience. I was in the same mindset 2 months ago. I woke up one morning about 5-6 days out and lay in bed wondering what the hell I had done. I've since collected myself and am now celebrating my sleeve more WHILE I adjust to my new stomach, appetite, and eating pattern....everything. I thought my belly looked deformed and bruised at first. My son thought it looked "cool". It's gotten/getting better...everything. It will for you, too. Hang in there.

    Its here!

Congratulations! The nervousness is normal, but you're going to do great.
  8. The best part AND the hardest part has been eating less food and being satisfied with smaller portions. My body says "that's enough" and my mind responds with "for who?" I am reminded daily of how much I needed this surgery. I'm thankful for my second chance. I want to "rock my sleeve", too.

22 months out today! LOVE my sleeve!

WOW! You've had outstanding results. I want to have a normal BMI, too. . Congrats!
  11. Me, too. I mentioned my, uh, infrequency to my surgeon last Friday. I've added Benefiber once a day. He suggested Miralax once a day, too, but I haven't added it yet.

Any APRIL SLEEVERS? Let me know your progress !

I revised from band to sleeve (all-in- one) on April 18 and I'm down 42 unbelievable pounds and while I'm moving around a lot more, a goal of mine is to establish a realistic exercise schedule, too.

    5 Month Update - Pics - (- 54 lbs)

You are doing great. I love before and after pics...so inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
  14. I don't know what's normal, but 20lbs is a lot of weight to lose in 3 wks. I find it funny that I worry about the scale and weight loss just as much as I ever did, even though I know that I can't eat as much as before and I'm clearly eating less than my 10 year old. I find myself wondering if I'm doing okay, too, and how my weight loss compares to others "this" far out. I remind myself that the scale is not some mystical-magical thing with a mind of its own. It only responsds to my routine and habits. If I follow the guideliness (pretty good...nobody's perfect"), the scale will keep moving in the right direction. Congrats on losing 20lbs!.

    Whey protein powder

Hmmm...How about the one at Walmart? It's Whey, but I don't know about the extra essentials.
  18. Annag, Be encouraged. I wish for you strength and guidance. I wish you well. VST'ers are awesome. I am so moved by the thoughtful responses on this thread to help a member in need. I'm proud to be a part of this group.

    Band to VSG Revision 5/28/13

I had the revision to sleeve all-in-one and I was out of it for about 2 weeks....in pain and walking slow, like an old lady, I felt like the world was moving at lightning speed, while I was inching along. To make matters worse, a lady who was sleeved the same day as me, had her one week appt. on the same day and while I was moving at a snail's pace and sitting down very gingerly, she was zooming around the doctor's office and feeling fine. She had driven herself home from the hospital, she said. We are all, definitely, different. I stopped taking pain meds after about 9-10 days and at 2 1/2 weeks, I, was getting around pretty good. It gets easier. Hang in there.

5 days post op and am in pain!

Sorry you're having a hard time right now. I couldn't get enough water or protein in the first few days either. I was too busy dozing, trying to get comfortable and trying to manage the pain, too. At that time, I called the doc about not getting enough protein in and my nut and PA said just keep trying to reach the goal and that they didn't really expect me to "get enough in" for a few weeks, just keep striving for the goal. It takes a while to get there. So, that put my mind at ease a bit as I struggled to sip, sip, sip. Don't be too hard on yourself this early out. Just do the best you can and sip, sip, sip. Things will get better with each passing day. If you're staying on top of your pain meds (taking as scheduled and not waiting for the pain to signal meds), and you're still in pain, then you might want to let your surgeon in on this matter. I'm a big advocate for asking for stronger pain meds when necessary.
  21. Me, too. I revised, too, but I had my band for a loonngg time. I lost about 60 lbs or so, while struggling with that thing for years. Getting filled, then stuck, then unfilled. One minute I couldn't eat anything and the next my stomach was a bottomless pit. What a roller coaster ride. I was reluctant to revise, but so far so good. I wish I had given myself a second chance sooner.

    YIKES, this just became REAL!

I purchased unjury unflavored and didn't like it, but many people do. You can buy a sample for $1.99 online before making a more expensive commitment. I thought unflavored meant tasteless. It doesn't.

    Post-op activity

You might want to try starting a new thread to get more of a response to your question. Also, when searching older posts I've found the answers to many of my questions. I called my doctor's office A LOT in the first week or so, too. They're used to newbie questions and don't mind taking our calls. Good luck.

Getting Started with an Exercise Program

Good information to apply to my new journey. Thanks.

    YIKES, this just became REAL!

I could have written this a little over a month ago. You'll come down out of the clouds, settle into the reality, and finally get with the program. My advice would be to stay connected with a support group (if only this one), ask questions and remind yourself of all your "reasons for". Congratulations!
