  1. I'm 5 days post op! Its normal to feel that way! I was a ball of nerves just a few short days ago, the first two days are the hardest but you will see how great and fast recovery is! It really is as grest as everyone says I promise. Best of luck to you! This forum is great for support and info!

    Do you realize...

    Great post!!

    sleeved 1/31/13

    Have you tried GasX strips?
  4. The first two days are the worst. Coming off anestisia was hard for me but leaps and bounds better day three forward. Warm liquids were helpful for me. Although cold is better for others so see what feels best for you. Very small sips at first! If you still can not take in anything I would go back to the hospital so they can administer an iv.
  5. Q3: I was sleeved 1/29 and GasX Strips were a lifesaver! They come in a small box and dissolve on the toungue. All drug stores carry them as well as Wal-mart, etc.

Thanks Nancy and Less - it was a wake up call! Thankfully nothing harmful, but Good enough to keep this girl in line! One day I may try again in the way off future when more foods become acceptable for me to try and tollerate. Until then, pass the broth!! Lol. Thank you for sharing, I feel much better!

Thank you so much for replying. Its scary reading some posts about what people venture out and try so few days post op - I did a search and saw lots of things but nothing on ice cream. I'm glad I looked around and read because it quickly put me back on the straight and narrow! Your reply eased my worry, thanks again.

    Getting Sleeved 1-29-13

I can't wait to have a protein shake! Im getting my liquids down easily. Warm broth feels good going down and suddenly I LOVE ice cold water. Today has been a major turn for me, feeling lots better. I plan on going back to work Tuesday(desk job) but depending on how I feel I might do half days. Feeling leaps and bounds better. Days 1 and 2 were the hardest but I feel so far past that now.

I wasn't given a binder, what is that? I have something to wear on my legs when I'm laying down. I've been ok getting broth down. My Dr lets me use a heating pad which helps the soreness on my tummy. Gas x strips are helping with bloated feeling. I'm glad we are all posting and going through this together. As bad as I felt the first two days, I still feel it was worth it. We will get past this hump! I got on the scale today...started at 219.6 at home now at 212.4

How's everyone doing on their 'fast' today? My stomach is growling out loud LOL! I've been drinking water and can have broth and a couple other things - it's tough!! (but worth it)

Good luck! I got my pre-op tests done last week. It went by fast, I had to do an EKG, chest xray and blood work. The surgery center just called me and changed my surgery time to 8:30 am! I have to be there at 7:00! It's starting to feel "real"!!

    Getting Sleeved 1-29-13

New to the post, I'm having my surgery tomorrow at 9:45! I'm a self pay with Dr Thomas Borland in New Iberia Louisiana (about two hours from my home). $9800 - I went in for a consult Jan 8, and got my surgery date. No pre-op diet, just clear liquids today and some gross liquid to drink tonight. I have a friend who had hers with Dr Borland and she's 67 lbs down in 4 1/2 months! I am so excited! I can't wait for results like that!
  15. Good luck today!!! I'm tomorrow! Keep us posted on your progress!

    Any january surgery out there

Good luck to all the Mondays going into surgery today!! Mine is tomorrow! Getting nervous, but I'm ready!
  18. You look great!!! Congrats, I know you must be so happy! I can't wait for my sleeve (1/29/13)
  19. Ah how I look forward to the day! It's been years since I could grab off the rack and go! I have to try everything on - making sure it covers and camouflages and doesn't cling here and there! Another reason I can't wait for my sleeve for sure!

    Any january surgery out there

Jan 29th here too! Good luck to all and lets keep everyone posted I'm READY!
  21. Hoping it went well for you! Please keep up posted and although I'm reading this now that you're probably post surgery, still sending up a prayer!
  22. MFP is one of the reasons I decided enough failing and started looking into WLS! LOL
  23. I feel like you are in my brain! A southern girl myself (Louisiana) - I'm a self proclaimed shop-a-holic and come from a family of women who love their spoils! Even my 81 year old grandmother dresses better than all of us in her rhinestones and trendy wardrobe! I'm a self pay, have no health problems and am 31 yrs old. I want to be able to buy a pair of skinny jeans and slide my leg into some cute riding boots next fall! I can't find a boot now to wrap around my wide calves to save my life! LOL It's been about 5 years since I've worn a size 8 and a hard depressing ride with every pound I've gained. I can't wait to feel good again! This surgery is completely a preventative for me and honestly the better I look, the better I feel. I know that for a fact! I have zero regrets and my surgery date is next Tuesday Jan 29th - it can't get here fast enough!
