    Self Pay Questions!

Happy to help! All follow up visits are free of charge. He also provides a pager number and can be reached 24/7. He calls back right away. I have had a very easy recovery, felt great after only 3 days! I also have a friend who used him. She is 5 months out and has lost 70 lbs. I give him 5 stars

    Self Pay Questions!

I live in Louisiana and had mine with Dr Thomas Borland in New Iberia. 9,800 self pay. Here is his website http://www.thomasborlandmd.com/
  3. You will be ok, if you are still worried call your doc as soon as possible and I'm sure he/she will reassure you that you are ok. my Dr put me on mushies after 1week, soft foods after 2 weeks and regular foods after 4 weeks. All drs are different so I cant say what's right or wrong, but know you are going to be fine!

I did this! Too bad its already getting back to its non-spotless state now, LOL!!! Luckily 10 days out and I feel well enough to piddle around the house again
  5. For me, I turned the corner on day 3. Days 4 and 5 I was back on easy street!
  6. I'm happy for you! I'm 10 days out and feeling great! Best of luck to you and wishing you a speedy recovery.

    January Newbies ! Progress ?

I was sleeved on 1/29 - as of one week check up I'd lost 14 lbs according to the dr's scale, 12lbs according to mine. No complaints! I'll take either one, LOL
  8. Everyone gets nervous. I cried like a baby until they took me back! But now I'm 10 days out and feeling great!!! It will be wonderful you will see! Sending prayers your way!
  9. I'm a southern gal here in Louisiana too! We love our king cake and soul food and Salt. But not to worry, even slow losers hit stalls. The thing about stalls are, though, that they are just that - Stalls - Not stops! I know its tough to go through, but up your water and continue on your journey! Don't beat yourself up, You will finish the race!!
  10. I'm one week out tomorrow and luckily my recovery has been very very fast and easy! I can eat about 2 cans of progresso soup broth over the course of a day including sipping water, sipping protein shake, and maybe one sugar free jello cup. Starting weight 219, currently 209. 5'6 tall. Is this crazy that I can consume this with NO problem???? I sip when hungry and am having no pain...is this bad? I don't know if I need to cut back or limit my liquids :-/
  11. Thanks for the replies! I'm just glad to hear its ok and there are others like me! I'm going to continue with my routine. hoping everyone else continues doing well too.

    January Newbies ! Progress ?

Congrats on your loss! My steri strips are starting to itch too! Must mean we're healing well, but boy would I love to scratch. Lol
  13. I'm one week out and surviving on broth water and protein shakes.....at this point I'm feeling great as far as healing goes. Since recovery is great I am starting to feel like I want real food with substance sooooo bad!!! I feel like feeling well makes me want to toss the liquids but I still have a week to go. Hoping my drs appt tomorrow allows for variety soon. My stomach litterally growls thinking of food and I'm not even going to say how hard it was to cook dinner for hubby today, lol!! I wish I could have a bowl of frosted mini wheats, tacos, chicken tenders, urggggg ......

    Getting Sleeved 1-29-13

Just checking in! How are you all feeling? I am better every day. Up and moving really well with little to no soreness. Winded at times but nothing major. Making sure to rest and sip water. Made taco dip for the hubby for Superbowl today and it smelled so good! I had just eaten my broth and thankfully wasn't tempted! As of today I've gone from 219 to 209! Thanking God for a successful surgery and feeling blessed to be on a good path! Hoping things stay the course. No bouts of head hunger yet. What a feeling to be past days 1 and 2!

    bummed :(

Day 5 post op, doing great and feeling great! Ive been sipping water, clear broth, protein shakes.... THEN I ate a teaspoon of soft ice cream today. I had very slight discomfort and I wont be doing that again!!! But now I'm scared to death I did that. i feel fine now but glad to have the wake up call to stay the course. Just needing assurance I didn't spring a leak over it.

Yes I think you can have that soup. If ever in doubt just call the Dr and ask. I was told any clear is fine, even from the can as long as strained. Some drs advise differently but Dr Borland is ok with it. I like the broth from the Progresso soups. I found a very small strainer at the dollar store and it works great!
  18. A teaspoon of softened ice cream had my tummy rumbling today! My sleeve let me know who was in charge! You have nothing to worry about, happens to most everyone!
  19. Success and inspiration! You look amazing!
