    Very important date!!

Thanks so much! I am soooooooo thrilled. Now I have got to do as Leatha suggest and prepare the house for my ever so exciting liquid stage. My husband said that he would eat soup for dinner every night until I could eat solids. Since he leaves before I wake up and eats at work for lunch I thought that would be cool.

    Very important date!!

I know everyone (((((((HUGS)))))) right back. I am totally excited. AHHHHHHHHH LOL! I was thinking by my b-day in June how much better I will feel. My doctor asked me what weight I would be happy with. I said 220 ish, he said Great answer but that I should loose more than that. YAY. I told him that 45 pounds that stayed off sounded like pure heaven. Being banded himself he nearly busted a gut laughing and said I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL, and man its really nice to know that yes he really does. Now I just have to stay on atkins induction for a month. ICK, but its worth it.... Thank you all for your support. I cant wait, and YES it will be here soooo quickly.
  4. Greetings, Last night I went to Dr. Grossbards seminar. He has been banded and lost 100 pounds. He said that he wants everyone to be on atkins or (KETOSIS) before surgery to prove your conviction toward you new life. So I started this morning to get a head start. My 1st appointment is on Tuesday for a one on one. But I've been told by the office manager that I could be in for surgery by Feb 14th. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Excited and nervous because its coming.....LOL Here are some pics of some overeating tragedies.

    Over eating BLUES!!!!!!!!

Yes, Atkins. Thank you for responding, I was getting a little worried. Angus decided to join me and I am thankful but I think he needs more than 20 carbs during the day. He really needs energy at work and he is slightly grumpy when he gets home.

    80% Divorce Rate!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to thank you all for sharing your thoughts and feelings on this matter. The subject of divorce effects us all in different ways. My mom has been divorced twice. First to my father, second to a man who seemed to be as hard working as my mom until they got married. Then he became an incredible flake, which wouldn't do for a woman going to night school, and working to jobs to make a better life for us. I am happy to say that she found a man who makes her happy and pulls his own weight in his own way. The reason I am sharing this with you is because when I was told about that statistic I started to get the divorce flash back. Thanks again for sharing some great thoughts and personal stories,

I need some encouragement and motivation!

Marie, Size 12, LOL you Rat.. Just kidding! Your progress although slightly shaky at times has been significant. When your new Bo (who sounds great) asks you out, you might think ahead to what you are going to eat. In the past I have actually gotten the menu faxed to me so I could make my choice before I got there with out anyone knowing I was watching my calories. You have done great, keep it up and keep us posted on the BO

Wow, great responses. I feel soooooooo much better. That statistic really scared me. I knew I could count on my fellow band buddies to set my mind at ease. I guess I better break out my pilates and yoga tapes, to prepare for all that post weight loss sex LOL. OMG did I just post that! I am getting way to comfortable around you folk!

    80% Divorce Rate!!!!!!!!!

WOW...Actually Im slightly teary.(REALLY) I married my best friend. We have been together since 94. We did start under rather stressed circumstances. I was 18 and he was 23, we moved in together 6 months after I got out of HS. So we have had our challenges. When I met him I weighed 185, and over ten years gained 145 pounds. Wow! He can eat any thing he wants with no repercussion. *#@#%$% He is commited to our new healthy life. But if he gets uncomfortable I will definatly have him take you up on that offer. Your commitment to your wife, is inspiring. I feel the same and I believe I always will. THANK YOU!

Just introducing myself - surgery 1/24

Lauren, As someone who is hoping to be banded soon, I have felt the same way. After I completed and passed my phych evaluation, it occured to me that my day was approaching. YIKES. I think that if you have the means and the time I would suggest speaking with a councelor to address some of your concerns. That way you can be most relaxed for your Amazing journey. Good Luck and keep us posted. Dont forget to take some before pics.
  22. Greetings I just wanted to let my lapbandtalk family know that I passed my phychological evaluation. Yay! He said that I had above average knowlegde of the procedure and what to expect post op. Thanks for sharing my joy,

    Pictures

Jonathan First let me say Your totally a cutie! Second let me say is it a shame that you gained back the weight. If I think back to all of the weight that I lost and gained back over the years it makes me kinda queesy. But you know that you have done it, (and in a big way) so after being banded, I am sure you will kick some serious butt. Good luck to you and keep us posted after your surgery, hopefully mine will be shortly after yours.
  24. Kathy, Welcome, and congrats 58 pounds is an achievment. Keep up the good work and post some pics, before, durings and afters really keep the almost banded going. Good Luck to you,

    Exercise DORK!

Greetings For my new years resolution I wanted to stop drinking diet soda, learn to love exercise again, chew 25x with each bite, and not drink 30 minutes before, during or after meals in anticipation of being banded. First let me say that I never realized how acustomed I had become to WOLFING down my food. Yikes. Chewing 25x seems like a joke. I had to start using a lobster fork to help with the portion size. It seems to be working. Ok, lets talk about the exercise. I knew when I made this resolution to learn to love exercise again that it would be a double edge sword. So I dont know about you people but I get bad cramps in my legs when I over do ANYTHING. Walking to far, wearing a slight heel etc. So here I am a 330 pound 28 year old, getting onto my recumbant bike to get some exercise. I start to pedal, so far so good. I had put on the simpsons season five dvd for entertainment. All of a sudden I start to feel a slight tight feeling in my right calf. I know that it means I better stop or I will wake with a soft ball sized cramp in my leg. I look down and the timer says :angry 15 minutes. BOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO! Can anyone relate? My brain is completely in the zone and ready to go and my body is like "YOU DORK, I CANT KEEP UP!" Has anyone experienced these calf cramps? For me they come at night, I scream so loud I am really surprised that no one has called the police. How has it been getting back to exercise for you all? I get so frustrated with my limitations, even though I know that in time my body will catch up to my brain. P.S My husband Angus got me a sippy cup for Christmas, LOL how cute.
