Yeah...that's right! I did it!
Phatcurves replied to goodlife's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats to you. I am so excited to be where you are and just get the process going. TIME IS TICKING FOR ME. I still cant believe how fast the weeks are going and the 12th is going to be here so freaking quick. HOw long were you in the hospital for, my doc requires 2 days. Is that what happened with you. I am paying cash and hope that two days (which is included in the price) is going to be enough time. -
So my surgery is May 12, and rapidly approaching. I quit smoking a couple of weeks ago and its been a freaking nightmare because my BF is a major trigger for me smoking and he has been a really winner lately. I am feeling super sad and guilty because I have just been eating whatever and not caring until after the meal where i want to cry. I told myself a few weeks ago when my surgery date was set that I was going to try to lose 15lbs by my date and eat smart just to help my body out. Currently I am at the lowest rockbottom part of my life with my weight. Even though years ago when I had the band I weight about 40lbs more I am older now and my fat/body is reacting differently to being this heavy again. (I gained 25lbs two months ago when they unfilled my band). Seriously everything about my belly makes me want to cry. Even now just sitting here my freaking stomach is sitting on my upper legs and making me hot. All of my jeans do not fit from 2 months ago and I am having a hard time finding shirts that are long enough to cover my lower belly. I know that I am going to get the surgery in two weeks but I really hoped to be going in with such a positive mindset so to thrust me into my new positive life. Right now I just feel depressed, sad, alone and needing a hug.

You all are right and I think in a way I am in pre mourning for the food, although I have been telling my mom for years that i wish I just didnt have to eat to live. I would always say that with addiction to drugs or alcohol atleast you didnt need it to survive where if you have a food addiction its always around and you have to eat to live. I think once the surgery is done I will feel mentally better but there is so much junk going on right now. I am 33 in school, a so so crappy unsupportive relationship (while feeling like I cant do better), Im still married to my ex because he wants me back. **long story.. I do not have a regular sleep schedule and am sort of an insomniac who sits around to much and well I could go on and on. I want to thank you all for replying. I know that my relationship is super toxic but I do not have enough strength right now to leave. My body woes at this weight are temporary I know but are just contributing to my crummy self esteem and I think I need to get in and talk to a professional about the crud that is clogging up my brain. My mom told me today that I just need to do the best i can with my food and go for a walk everyday to get the blood flowing and I know she is absolutely right. THANK YOU ALL. YOUR POSTS REALLY CHEERED ME UP AND GOT ME FEELING A BIT BETTER TODAY. I have the feeling this might be a bumpy road.

BTW I am sorry to Rant and Rave but I just feel horrible and secretly wish I could just cut my belly right off. But I guess the surgery is going to basicly do that.

Words OF Wisdom From those who know
Phatcurves posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
So I keep on wanting to ask the same thing on every post so I figured that I would ask in one thread and that way all new comers could reference this thread. FOR ALL THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN SLEEVED and been very successful:: What 5-10 things can you share about your diet, exercise or change in behavior that has yielded you such success?....(YES us soon to be sleeved peeps want what you have.) Every post really is so inspiring and any advice would be so amazing to hear. -
Hey guys and dolls, I was just viewing the 100lbs in 4month thread and OMG, I am now salivating. I was wondering what the average man and woman can lose in say 2-4 months? My evil bf's dad lost 62 lbs since mid Jan with the bypass and he is getting no exercise and has a ton of Co morbidities. I am super impressed by his success and am so proud that he is doing so well. That being said can anyone shed light on what is typical for the sleeve say 4/6/12 months out. I weigh 300lbs and am 5'5. My surgery is coming up soon and I am getting so excited by all of your post. I realize that everyone losses differently and honestly at this stage of the game as long as I am consitantely losing I really dont even care if its 2pounds a week. In a year thats a 100 and would effectively change my life.

Everyone loves going out to eat with me!

Do you find it hard to not drink with your meals? I am a big water drinker at all times of the day and I am wondering if that is going to be super hard not to feel like I am getting quenched. -

WOW. THANK YOU SO MUCH! It is really great advice all of it but especially what you said regarding getting the mental help you need pre op. That is a major concern for me and my family and I think I will make an apt this monday to start seeing the woman who works one day a week at my dr's office. thank you for putting in the time to share with me and everyone else. -
I agree with the last post. It would be so unfair after finally getting sleeved to then sabotage yourself by making your body sick or sicker then it is right now. Please call your doctor and let him make the best decision that will promote a healthy recovery and the best overall weight loss which was the point to begin with. xoxoxo take care and feel better.

How much non-surgical shrinkage is possible?
Phatcurves replied to ouroborous's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
My entire back is tattooed, LOL and I keep wondering what is going to be there or where? My friend was like so is that butterfly going to be a bird? I wish I knew how its going to play out but I guess that is so far away it doesnt matter. -
I forgot to look when this was posted but for those of you who posted are you just post op or is this sleepless thing happening months out. I am a very bad insomniac so this is really getting my attention.

I just called GNC to see what kind of clear protein they had and he said ISOPURE or puke lol from what I hear. He also said that he had some liquid protein that was clear that you mix with stuff. I was wondering if anyone was familar and knew if it was gross or what?

DAN that is so amazing, you should be so proud. Do you have any words of wisdom or advice for those about to be sleeved?

What Can I expect??
Phatcurves replied to Phatcurves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You gals and guys are doing so great. Thank you all for your response, it just is getting me more excited for my big day. I really just need to do the right things once I get sleeved and continue to be in the gym. The problem over the last few years for me in terms of weight loss has been the effects my big body knocking me off my groove. SO I would go to the gym and in my 33 year old mind I would be all gun ho and go in and do the elliptical for 45 minutes and I felt on top of the world until the next morning when I felt sore and had no energy. So even if I lost some weight I would get depressed about the personal obstacles and end up binging and screwing the whole thing up. I so look forward to having a tool that puts in as much work as I do so that every week I lose it will let my body go further for longer at the gym which will of course assist my weight loss. FYI ...i hate my band. For the last 3 years I have thrown up almost everyday and sometimes multiple times. When I got unfilled for a month I gained 20 pounds because finally I was able to eat with out getting sick. Sitting on my Doctors table crying he really insisted that I do another surgery (which he had been saying for a year) so I could finally make some progress since having the band for five years and having little results was breaking me down emotionally. Anyway Sorry for the rant I guess I am just a ball of fear (of failure) and emotional basket case with nerves and excitement for things to go right this time.>>GRRRR lol, thanks everyone for being so open and helpful. -
WOW, you and everyone else on here who have lost are really special warriors who are my idols. Way to go, have a happy birthday and keep it up.

Phatcurves replied to Phatcurves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yay someone responded, thank YOU. Your getting done a week before me, you have to keep me posted on your aches and cramps and such. I might make a thread for those who are being done in may. Like I said in my post anything would be great since all I seem to do is gain recently, but wow 20lbs in a month sounds unreal. -

100 lb club in less than 4 months
Phatcurves replied to Bbell's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
While 100lbs in 4 months might be a little aggressive unless either male or sssob, what is the norms for say 4 months. Is ten pounds a month normal? Is twenty? I am 300 lbs and have my surgery coming up in 4 weeks. I sit here day (or night) dreaming about how I am going to look in a few months. Can anyone shed some light on how much is average. And I do understand that everyone is different. -
Went to sam's club and bought pants
Phatcurves replied to pumpkin07's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
THAT is so freakin awesome. Not only are you getting exercise but what a boost to the soul that your already seeing such amazing results. -
Does it not taste good because your tastes have changed because of the surgery?
-
35 WOW, I wish. I calculated mine last week and I think it was 46.5 or something very close to that. I seriously cant believe I let it get this far. I really need to work on my diet before the surgery so I can feel a little better going into it. When I got my band done my doctor asked me to do Atkins for a month to shrink my liver and I did it religiously and lost 20lbs in 3.5 weeks. Although my current doctor only wants me to do liquids for two days prior I think I should do low carb again and see if I can drop the 20 I GAINED in 5 weeks while my band hasnt been filled. BLAHHHHHHH
-
Wow your doing great. BIG SIGH, with a little smile,,,,, I CANT WAIT for my surgery.
-
Can someone explain what you are talking about? Are you referring to the new size of the stomach, what denomination is 36? My doctor over sewing too, he said that he imprecates the edge of the stomach by folding the edge over and over sowing it. Is that what you are talking about?
