SO it will be 2 weeks tomorrow and I am doing great. I have learned a lot such as icecream makes me have chill, sweats and the worst sea sickness ever!! (BTW i would normally not have ice cream but I was stuck at a BaseBall Game with nothing to eat). Anything creamy makes me feel overloaded like I licked raw butter. YUK. I recently found that Isopure mixed with fruitpunch flavored crystal lite is the BOMB! For those who are post op and maybe having problems with going to the bathroom I wanted to suggest CHERRIES. I have been eating a couple cups of fresh raw cherries and it has enough Fiber or something that is making me go. WHICH ROCKS NSV LOL. Just be careful not to swallow the pit as that could really make HUGE trouble. I also found that ground up chicken, hummus and avacado makes a great protien and fiber dip. Hope all is well...:crying:

Cherries Cherries Cherries
Phatcurves replied to Phatcurves's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ok, so you all have whipped me into a complete crazed frenzy and I just called my DR. office to check on the status of the cherries. The lady said that they do no recommend eating them because of the pit and also because they are high in sugar. I said what about the skin (FYI 2 cups was like 145c and they go along way for snack food and to satify any sweet craving) and she was like the skin is fine but the sugar and if you accidently swallow the pit it could be really bad. So if that is the reason they say I am going to take the pound bag I just walked around for 2hrs picking and keep a quarter and give the rest away I guess. I am eating about 800-855 calories a day and I have lost 21lbs as of today and as of this morning it is officially 14 days. *****Please anyone who wants fruit or cherries (which apparently may not be a good idea) PLEASE call your doc first. Every docs diet is different and I do not want anyone to suffer badly because of this post. Like I said I was completely fine but thats me. xoxoxoxo love to you all -
I just wish that I had done this 6 years ago instead of the band, THE BAND SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I am glad I did it now and I still have a chance to get my life back.

Cherries Cherries Cherries
Phatcurves replied to Phatcurves's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well, I spent first week completely clear, followed by full for four days before I was cleared for soft foods. I will call tomorrow and ask, lol now that I went back and picked a whole freaking basket. They havent made my tummy hurt or had any weird affect although I agree I should =check. He told me anything that would constitute as mushie and after mastication its mushie. He also said that as of tomorrow I could try chicken and potatoes and carrots etc and see how i felt. I guess I need to call with a list of questions. The only thing I have had a problem with is icecream and a heavy sause that was at olive garden. That was dumping syndrome 101. -
Well its been 10 days and I can say thankfully that I have not had any negative problems from the surgery except from the nurse who took my staples out neglecting to tell me to leave the steri strips on. They were hanging off two days after I got my staples out so I took them and that was not such a smart move. Doing errands with my mom I leaned down to get something from the ground and popped an incision which caused a waterfall of blood streaming down my shirt and jeans. Unfortunately i had no idea till we got where we were going and i felt something wet on my shirt and reallized i was in trouble. After panicking we went to get it stiched closed because you could see really deep down into it. Luckily my doctor was doing surgery that day and actually met us in the er and just put steri strips on the wound and told me NOT TO TOUCH. A few days later they all seem good. SO my mom is about to leave now in fifteen min and I have to say that I am struggling against some old patterens of eating. First let me say that I am NOT really that hungry and I have lost 18 freakin pounds in the last ten days....>HELLLLLLL YA, But I am noticing some weird things. I have a horrible relationship with my live in BF and now that my mom is leaving I already feel nervous about my trigger eating. He likes to eat out every day and rarely in the house and I know that is going to be a major issue for us. Also Last night we had a small tiff and I had nothing I could run to in order to make to pain of our relationship go away. I think I need to get some thearapy asap in order to help with coping skills and see what I can do when I just cant eat. Also I am having to realize that I only need to order SMALLL things in stead of large which is such a habit. Sorry for the long post I just have been realizing that I am going to need some help and now that my support system is leaving town and I am going to be alone with him again I am getting nervous that cigs or chocolate could be used to heal and obviously that is SO REDICULOUS. xoxoxo I have to say good bye to my mom Talk to you all later

I need Therapy ASAP!
Phatcurves replied to Phatcurves's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks everyone, I know in my heart that this is not going to work out I just subconsciously hope that my weightloss will make everything ok, but I know that it will just end up making things worse. We went to olive garden today and after some Soup, I was pretty much full and of course I ordered a meal to go with the soup instead of just realizing that would be enough. So there I am, he's eating away and smiling while looking at me frowning as I am putting my whole meal into a box. He just said so are you going to "Barf it". That was what he would say to me everytime I got that look on my face courtesy of the band. THen he said if I wanted to wait in the car while he finished he would be fine, to which I replied PLEASE dont say shit like that even when you are kidding because it just makes me sad and things harder. So then he said so this is how its going to be forever now huh, you take two bites an then you are done? I said ya, pretty much and that I probably ate enough for both of us for a quarter of a life time, so I am ok with it. BLAH I guess I just need to go for a walk and replace my old bad addictions with healty ones. xoxoxo thank you all, I appreciate your advice. -
30 plus days in hospital
Phatcurves replied to DeeDee58's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Your bed my love is waiting for you and you will be there soon. I know that when I was in the hospital that the bed and the cats were the only two things I couldnt wait to see again. I hope you can get out asap and get on with your life. Once you heal you will reap the benefit of the sleeve and be able to look to the future instead of the sucky present x xoxoxoxoo take care -
Hi, everyone just wanted to say I am home with my 34 bougee stomach and I am wicked sore and tired. The hospital stay was a complete exercise in patience and futility. I am so excited to be done but man oh man I am tired and sore. I hope all who got done on the 12th are safe and doing well. I will catch up with you as soon as I can stand to be on the computer again. OH PS, the revision was the worst part. He went threw my old incision scars and put staples in to close my wounds. WELL one of the wounds is stapled so taught it is pinching my skin and that is making my pain increasingly awful. Got to love liquid Loritab. xxoxoxo

Finally sleeved on 5/11
Phatcurves replied to CoachKK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am only a few days post op but this is my recipe for protein that seems to work really well. Red bottle isopure put in a bottle I bought at VONS that was big enough for ice cubes. Mixed with a 1/3cup motts apple juice and water, or depending on mood or tolerance for sweets, vitamin water. Shaken really well makes the mix cold and the ISOPURE kinda disappear. I have been home 2 full days and finished 2 full 40g bottles of "ISOPUKE". anyways I thought I would let you know if you wanted to try. -
I too was sleeved on the 12th and spent two days in the hospital. I was not given anything yucky to drink but as someone else stated that might have been done before I left the table. While I was in the hospital I was miserable and only drank Water. The Jello, crystal lite (SO BAD) and broth were all a no go. Not that I couldnt just that I didnt want to, which is kind of hard to describe. My hospital roomate who had gotten the Rou just a few hours after my surgery seemed to be in less pain which really got my goat but I am guessing it might be due to my revision of the band??? Who knows! I was really cranky pretty much the whole stay and the first night was a freaking nightmare thanks to the equipment in our room continuously malfunctioning. Her iv, My iv, someone was occluded, beeps, whistles, horns, flashing lights and 12 hours later I had gotten almost no sleep and I had some cheery newly shifted nurse standing over me like, well hun are you gonna walk????? LOL, I actually said that I would gladly walk if I would be granted a nap. (I said I was Cranky) She brought in some liquid Vicoden and a shot of hepperin and some nexium stuff they shot in my IV. FYI when they give you the shots of blood thinner and say do not rub or itch the site, THEY ARENT FOOLIN. I never even touched where they injected me in my belly and I have 6 tidy black and blues scattered around my belly around my already annoyed insicion spots. So post nap I still wasnt hungry but I did want to get up and walk around and it did help. I stepped on the scale this morning since it was 520 and I couldnt sleep. I weighed 311 the day before my surgery and this morning I weigh 308. Although I know its the water weight and probably every drop of IV SODIUM enhanced Fluid, I finally am feeling like this was a good decision. I knew that it was but there is something in the back of your mind when you are in bad shape that questions your intention and well SANITY..LOL Im glad I did this sugery and I look forward to every new step. I think I mentioned this in my post op post but I now have a 34 f for those of you who care. Oh and SHASTA, those empty burp things are the most painful things ever. Its like an implosion in your body with no way for the air to escape. Those have lessend thank goodness.. Feel better xoxoxooxo

OMG PEOPLE!!! My surgery is in 7 hours and I should really be sleeping. I am so nervous and so excited. Today was kinda sucky because my intestines were cramping and freaking out thanks to the liquid diet. I also was blessed with a massive headache which lasted until I had a cup of black coffee. AAHHH. ANyways THank you all for your advice and answers. I look forward to logging in and posting in the POST OP Forum. YAY One last thought, since i joined bout a month ago I have gone from 300 to 311. I need this surgery right now and I am so blessed that I can do it and have such a wonderful group of people for extra support. You all rock!:001_tt1: Talk to you as soon as I can. Rachel

I have had back problems for the last month since I gained weight. My surgery is on wed and I was told that I was not allowed to have nsaids because it would thin the blood. I took a SOMA last night and then five min later I realized that it might have aspirin. Sure enough I looked it up and it does. My surgery is on wed and I am scared that I am going to bleed now or that they might not do the surgery. Does anyone know if one pill could change my date? I will tell the doctor of course but I am so scared he is going to put my surgery off. HELP

6 weeks, 42 pounds gone forever!!
Phatcurves replied to achopp's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
OH wow, that is so exciting and I am so happy this is going so well for you. Your post just lifted up my funky cloud hovering over my head. Geez wed isnt coming soon enough. Keep it up and make sure to exercise. Be careful going 6 days a week just so you dont burn your self out. I always tell my friend who gets uber into working out with me, DONT KILL YOUR SELF otherwise you will not be able to come in tomorrow and that should be your only goal, just be consistant. I might start at 3 or four days a week so when you hit a plateau, you have some thing you can change like stepping it up. ANYWAYS, congrats and keep us posted. -
dec 09 ---278lbs NO I DIDNT DRINK THOSE LOL.

Ok cool. YAY! The wiping instrument is this long extended handle that holds tp like a claw and wipes like a hand. My mom saw it and wanted to by it for me and I was like holy cow woman what are you trying to do to me. LOL. So glad that I will not need it or need help from my bf or dad whom will be my primary care givers immediately post surgery. THANKS ALL.... XOOXO

OMG i seriously just spit out my mouthful of coffee. ThAT IS HILARIOUS> -
I know exactly what you mean, I have had the band for five years and recently started gaining weight. I am so scared that I am not going to be successful with the sleeve. I guess its just paranoia but you know I should have been able to do more with the band and I just happened to be one of the fourty percent that it doesnt work for. I really hope that the sleeve puts in the work that I put in so together we can conquer the world LOL.
