Replacing food with other addictions? Sleevers 6 months and beyond?
leeann71 replied to Lap2sleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im 7 months out today. It is still hard for me when it comes to food. Just like today, BBQ and delicious desserts every where and you think to yourself maybe just one bite wont hurt. Then I realize I am not the type of person who can have just one bite. It is have it all or nothing. I have had to revaluate why I want the food to begin with and how am I gonna feel after I eat it. Alot of problems I face is head hunger, Im not even hungry but I still want it. Most people feel like they are not gonna diet after being sleeved but for me it has to be a diet or I will lose control and start eating the wrong foods which will eventually cause weight gain and poor nutriction. You just have to take a step back and realize what kind of food addict you are. Can you survive with a small taste or are you like me who wants it all? Good luck, I am proud to say I have no regrets being sleeved, it has taught me alot about myself and who I want to be. -
I had to lol. You know it was going to be said.

Beware! woman traveling to TJ

Your attitude and your words. You kept repeating a very raciest word. I can not stand people who use words like that one. -
If you read the forum rules, there is not to be name calling and especialy raciest name calling.

Like Laura said the right one is out there for you. You need to start working on you. Got out in the sun, take some long walks and breathe in the air and let your worries go. Life is so short to begin with and probably shorter if you didnt have this surgery. My theory is everything happens for a reason, better now than in the future. Usually when a partner leaves after they have surgery is because that person gets confidence and think they can do better. As for your case maybe she would not be able to deal with the confidence you were showing before she left. Be proud of yourself you deserve to be happy everyone does. Take this time as a new begining.

As time goes by it will get easier I promise. You need to nourish your body with healthy foods to also help with your depression. You will get through this, keep your head high and your attitude positive you did the right thing for you.

But you know what Laura, sometimes when we change things up our bodies are not use to it and we lose. I believe our bodies get use to eating the same foods and calories every day so its use tou the comfort zone we set up for it. We have to keep shakening it up, so it does not get use to the normal. I will tell when I started backsliding one day I ate 4 hersheys chocolates with almonds ( the full size bars) in one day. I was getting so depressed, the next morning after that chocolate feast and expected to of gained weight but instead I had lost 1.9 lbs. I still dont understand it. I promised myself I would never do that again. But it goes to show when you change things up ( like the 5:2 diet) our bodies will drop the weight.

Try chewing gum. That's what helped me the most and also brushing my teeth a lot when I wanted to smoke or if I know its head hunger. Sometimes when you feel hungry it might be that your thirsty.

You look amazing! Congratulations Pattycake. -
Thumbs up Laura great job.

It always goes back to the old saying " we always want what we cant have" somehow some way you have to find another way to overcome this way of thinking. It can be done, look at how many people have succeeded with this surgery so far.

Im 6 months out and yes you will be able to eat more than at first sleeve. Thats why it is so important to deal with the reasons you overeat. The restriction will always be there but it is possible to graze all day and eat around your restriction.

will the weight come back say in 7 to 10 years?
