I have insurance with BCBS of Texad and iy only took me 6 weeks to have the surgery. I met him on Oct. 19 and had the surgery on Dec.4. But please take your time getting it, make sure you understand what it is exactly that you are doing. So that you will be prepared for after. Good luck -

As for myself,I had excruciating pain for about 48 hours after surgery. I could barely walk but I did. My husband said that almost everyone who was in recovery with me were moaning and crying from the pain. I know what your going through, just hang in there it will get better. I guess some people can handle pain better than others. -

Work Rumors..... Ahhhhh
leeann71 replied to lilpun75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Usually when someone says something negative its because they are jealous! As for myself, I feel like this. I am proud that I did something for myself to live longer. And to be able to live life again instead of just getting by everyday. At least we have done something about our weight and medical problems. We will no longer be the statistic of being obeist in America! Those words are the ones that should upset you, not the surgery ones. Be proud of what you have done, take it and own it. You are stronger than any negativity out there, because you had this surgery and that takes a very dedicated and hard working person to do it. Keep your head high and the beautiful smile on your face always!!!!! -
I really need help/orientation
leeann71 replied to paulaleiva13's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe you should join a gym or something to show them that you are getting healthy instead. If I were you, I would not get the surgery. I believe you are not ready for it. Like everyone has said it is life changing. It is a forever change. One more thing I, myself didn't do this only to be thin. I did it to be healthy, so I can spend as many years as possible with the ones I love here on this earth. Good luck hope you find a solution to your problem :-) -

Smoking and Post Op
leeann71 replied to #Redy4chg.org's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know its hard to quit smoking, I am an exsmoker. You have to decide what is more important. Your life or the bad habit that you have had for years. Having a MAJOR operation to remove your stomach is a very serious, and to be smoking before this is not healtjy at all. You are taking a chance with your lungs colapsing, blood clots and many more complications. If you cant do it for yourselves do it for the people who love you. I gave it up cold turkey, I was having alot of drama in my life at that time but I still did it. I know each and everyone of you can do it, I have faith in all of you. You just have to figure out what your priorities are. Living healthier or continue down a road that will eventualy take your life. I wish the best for everyone. I know you can do this give it all your will power and you will succeed. -
Great Idea My name is Lee Ann, I 41 years young. I have been married for 26 wonderful years to my soul mate. I have a son who is 23 and two beautiful daughters twins who are 22. I also have 2 dogs oscar and pookie. I am a Texas native, I have llived hear most of my life. I am also a stay at home wife. I only ever worked if I wanted to. What started as my weight gain was when I was 21 and my mother passed away at 56. She died from brain and lung cancer, so I started soothing my pain with food and kept on for years. I finally work up one day and said that it was enough. I love animals all kinds. I have a dream of doing so many different things before time runs out, like horse back riding, skydiving, wearing Victoria Secret, flying in an airplane. I always put others first in my and I still do. My family are the ones who finally encouraged me to do this, they always tell me that its my time. I guess I can really say that I am one of the luckiest people in the world because of the way my family appreciates and LOVES me. God Bless Everyone may your destination be your dream come true!!!

Smoking and Post Op
leeann71 replied to #Redy4chg.org's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im an exsmoker as of surgery 12/4/12. I read that if something like you get stomache cancer from smoking or any other reason that it would be almost impossible to remove because then you would not have a stomache, you have nothing extra to save. There for I chose not to smoke again its not worth it. It really scared me! -
Keep getting as much protein and vitamins as possible. Minoxadil is great to, its a little expensive but so worth it. Go to any beauty supply store and they can show you exactly what you need to get.
