How to take a compliment
leeann71 replied to FoxyRoxy's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Accept it! You worked very hard to get where you are! When they say the compliments to you just think back at all you have gone through your whole life and take a step back and realize where you are today! You are beautiful inside and out, now its time that you see it! Oh yeah congratulations on your weight loss! -
You my dear are without a doubt one of the most positive people on here. My thougjts and prayers are with you and your family. Like Laura said your daughter is very lucky to have such an amazing mom like you. It touches my heart when I hear the real love a mom has for their child or children. We are here for you if you ever need extra support :-)

Band to sleeve revision - Dr. Kim (DFW area)
leeann71 replied to BB145's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I thinks its because Dr. Kim does surgery at many hospitals. They asked me the same thing. I had my surgery 1 week after my EGD. -
That is some of the funniest sh*t I have heard in awhile lol. Im laughing cause my body does the same thing.

Anyone else try to convince their spouse/significant other?
leeann71 replied to ISleevedIt's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My husband is maybe about 40lbs overweight. What I realized after my surgery is that he is mimicking everything that I have been doing, the way I eat, the excersize, my overall journey. What I am saying is, if he doesnt want surgery then maybe you can teach him without him knowing how to eat right. How to better take care of him self. I know most men do not like to be told what to do, so maybe you can do it other ways -
Welcome neighbor, Glad to see another Texan on here. I live in ft worth. Any questions you have feel free to ask. We are here to support each other. Congratulations on taking the first steps :-)

Shocked by other Patients Choices immediatly after surgery
leeann71 replied to zoekids's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
For the life of me I still really believe it is impossible to eat anything but liquid after surgery. Im 2 months out and I still can bearly eat solids. If I eat one extra bite I am sick, throwing up and pain. Maybe they tried it what ever it was and stoped I hope. That would be just way to painful, theres no way.lol -

What i won't miss about been over weight.
leeann71 replied to gelen's_change's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1. Feeling like everyone is looking at you when your out in public. 2. Not being able to get a certain job because of your weight. 3. Being ignored by people because they think your unworthy of talking to. 4. Going out to eat and people watching what you are eating. 5. Going in to normal size stores and someone telling you that they don't carry your size even before you ask them anything. I will stop for now, just reading over this and remembering this stuff makes me sad and angry. -

It takes about 3 days to get out of your system. Make sure you drink water to flush out your kidneys. -
It hurts my stamach when i drink water
leeann71 replied to MLCT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you drinking cold water? Maybe try just tap water, sometimes the cold can make you cramp up. Alot of people have problems getting water down right after surgery and some for a good while after surgery. Try maybe adding something to your water will help also. I had and still have problems with drinking cold liquids. Good luck I hope thos helps some. Also Welcome to the sleeve side congratulations :-). Any question you have feel free to ask. We will support you through this journey -
Had surgery 2 days ago..
leeann71 replied to vmamccoy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First off Welcome to the sleeve side. Everyone is different when it comes to the pain and queezies. Everyday you should start feeling a little bit better than the day before. As for myself it took about 7 days until I started feeling like myself again. Hang in there it gets better just takes a little time :-). Feel free if you have any questions to ask, we are all here for support and to help educate each other. Remember to sip your fluids all day when possible and walk even around the house to help with the gas pain, oh I forgot take some GasX strips they also help. -
God Bless you! I am so happy you are ok. This story reminds me never to take anything for granted, to always listen to what my body is telling me. Again thank you for this story and I really am glad you are ok.

Capt Derel's Gastric Sleeve Surgery Journey
leeann71 replied to Capt Derel's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Lol I was just kidding :-) Some of these Texans really can't spell, read or write. -
I see your from Texas :-) I am also. Go to Central Market they have some really good ones there. Is Dr. Kim your surgeon too?
-
I would secretly record that person saying those things. I think it's different in every state but you could take it to the Labor Board I think thats what you call it. Forgive me if I am wrong about the name I'm having a brain fart lol.

Surgery confirmed for feb 6th and freaking out
leeann71 replied to mrs.msp's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will have some pain and discomfort for probably the first few days. The day after surgery it gets better day by day. Just remember to walk and take the GasX strips they really work. You'll be tired and weak for a little while after you get home, but you have to get up and move and sip on something every chance that you get. I am pretty sure you both will do great. Keep positive thoughts and everything will be ok -
