soooo..... needless to say I'm freaking out!!! just found out I'm pregnant and will be calling both my doctor to set up an appointment to confirm and my surgeon for information, but yikes! I've heard pregnancy is quite common after weight loss surgery, but I'm concerned about how soon after the surgery this is....has anyone been through this or have any information to share???

Thank you aquite. I am ok though, the pregnancy was not planned. The first week after was rough but I'm ok now, continuing to enjoy this weight loss. It will happen again when the time is right! :-) -

We have the same surgery date, I was 12/10/12 as well. I unfortunately had a miscarriage the day I turned 5 weeks pregnant. I guess my body jst wasn't ready to carry another person. So, I do apologize. I wish I had some advice for u.... Good luck and I'd love to hear about u and ur little one's progress!! -
Thank you CO! My roommate also brought to my attention that it could be the liquid vicodin they gave. I've taken about once a day since the surgery because of the stiffness in my back from having to constantly sleep on it.

I am 6 days post op and just curious.... when are you supposed to become "regular" with BMs?

So I had my surgery on December 10th and am 4 days out. I am still slightly in the "what did I do" stage, but don't regret my decision at all. I'm not able to sleep comfortably so I am a bit irritable, any advice on how to get a good nights sleep? I can't sleep on my side yet, well actually I'm too nervous to. In any case, I'm still learning (of course) and have found that everyday something gets a bit easier than it was the day before, so if anyone has any advise on the first couple of weeks of recovery and what they're doing to maximize protein intake, I'd greatly appreciate it!!!

Post Op - Day #4 need advice
butifulsiren replied to butifulsiren's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you SOOO much everyone!!! Insecure, for me it is just paranoia I guess from having 4 incisions and the fear of ripping them open LOL even though I know that won't happen, then the fact that I have staples holding my stomach together too. I tend to freak myself out a bit LOL Sannah, omg I don't know why I didn't think about the head pad sooner. Decided to pull it out last night and it has taken a lot of the kink out from my back. That thing was a saver!! Hadouni, I originally thought I was going to use my lazy boy because that's what I did when I had my appendix taken out, but to me it just reminded me too much of how the hospital bed was shaped and I hated that hospital bed after the first day lol Sissy, Gamer & Newkat, I think I will be purchasing a body pillow tonight!!! Thank you again everyone! -
that is exactly what I'm looking forward to!!! I can't wait, but unfortunately we have to LOL i better get up and do some walking Hope to hear back from you soon!

Thank you saudi... maybe I will try sleeping on my side tonight...I'm just super nervous because of the incisions. I have luckily not been sick either and all my meds are going to normal as well. I appreciate your encouragement. You seem to be doing well, keep up the good work!!! -
yeah i'm trying to make it a habit to ALWAYS have a bottle of water with me, but sometimes I forget, so I'm still working on that! It'd be nice to stay in contact and hear about your recovery and journey!

Ok! Thank you! I'm using the same shakes from costco it sounds like, the Premier Protein Shakes (i'm drinking the chocolate flavored). I agree with you, right now I am only able to get about one down and it takes all day... I know I need to get in protein, but others are also stressing how important it is to get water in as well. Thank you very much for your help!!!

Hi, Well I can't quite say I've felt bloated yet, I'm only on post op day #4, but what I was really curious about is how you are getting so much Protein in??? I'm drinking about 50 oz of liquids a day, most of it Water and about 11 oz of it is a Protein Shake that has about 30 grams of protein. What are you using as a protein supplement? I'd be ever so grateful if you'd share and I apologize for not actually having an answer to your post. Thank you!
