I agree with you because I did not have any bread or starch today besides fruit and I didn't feel like I overdid it. Thanks!!

What to do? Sugar free or sugar? The dr recommends powerade zero, crystal light, sugar free syrup but then I hear its poison. Others say its better than having real sugar. So is Splenda that toxic or just an exaggeration? (I don't like the taste of Splenda anymore since sleeve but I'm curious).

I buy premier Protein at costco. chocolate flavor. It's good. I've blended w ice and pb when I feel sick of it. It helps. I bought unflavored protein powder from Trader Joes and mix it w ff milk, Greek yogurt, raspberry sugar free syrup, fruit and ice. Delicious!

For those curious about getting your DRANK on...

I'm at a bar right now drinking water. I don't miss drinking at all. I miss dessert most. But right now a drink sounds so good. A sweet drink. But nope. Water for me because I'm only 7weeks out. I have to lose more before I celebrate. Good to know I won't die from a glass of vino. -

My coworker has opened my eyes to a new way to crunch!!! She brought these little Persian cucumbers to work (I bought a big back at Costco for $4! Or you can get them at Trader Joes) . You can slice them into spears and use them to pick up dip instead of using chips. Has all the crunch you need and it's a vegetable!!! I admit I had a week of eating tortilla chips and have since weaned off and am all about Persian cucumbers!!! -
Been there, done that. Oh it's such a low feeling. But it may have been the regret you needed to propel you into the next healthy push.

Lately I've been on a kick of an egg sunny side up with imitation crab meat. Mmmm yum. I love Greek yogurt. I have also been loving a shake: Greek yogurt, ff milk, fruit and sugar free raspberry tOrani syrup. Or a Protein shake w powder, ff milk, Peanut Butter, and sugar free caramel syrup. Mmmm

My doc said no coffee. Ever. I had some today and.... Was the most regular I've ever been. I don't really like it as much anymore. Since the sleeve Splenda and sugar free stuff grosses me out. Before I could eat sugar free everything. Bleck. Am I the only one?

Tell me about the first few months?
cyncitygirl replied to amytug's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I agree with everything everyone said. What I would recommend is acknowledging you will have the first month be emotional (whether you're mourning the loss of food, a body part, freedom to eat, hormones out of whack, exhaustion, dehydration). Expect to have some emotional feelings of overwhelmingness and if you don't, great! But remind yourself this is normal and it will pass! You are losing a huge part of a major organ... That's a loss your mind and body have to accept with time. After about 4 weeks I felt back to normal and working out only made my mood better!!! I Zumba, swim and run and I sleep better than ever! I'm only 6 weeks out and not too long ago I was where you will be. I had no libido for 2weeks and thought it ruined my sex drive. No!!! My body was just healing!!! Please take care of yourself and listen to your body. Sleep if you need a nap! Drink if you need it! Take little trips out. Don't overdo it but don't stay locked up either (I obsessed with what I couldn't eat when I wasn't busy). You will feel great in no time! Month 2 is exciting! You can do it!!!!!
