Did you feel safe crossing the border into Tijuana?
lwilliams65 replied to FABby40's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
So weird... almost the same thing is my issue. I went today to get my passport and they said I need an "original" birth certificate not a copied one. I'm going with my ID, my copied birth certificate and a utility bill. What's your date... the 26th? Mine is the 25th.. I hope to see you there. -
Have any of you gone to Mexico for surgery without a passport?

I know exactly how you feel. I start preop diet Friday. I'm nervous. I'm always hungry and a Protein shake and some salad is like one meal for not a whole day. Good luck to you and ill pray for strength and will power for both of us -

I won't have mine in time either. I asked alma at Ready4Achange if that would be ok and she said yes. She said as long as I have birth certificate, drivers license and confirmation that I applied for my passport then I wouldn't have any problems so I'm going without one. Good luck on whatever you decide -
To tell, or not to tell?
lwilliams65 replied to Harpo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband, mom, dad and 3 sisters are the only ones I've told. I don't talk to anyone else enough for them to know. I think my in laws will ask a lot of questions but I'll just cross that bridge when I get there. Do what you feel is right for you. Some people like to tell the whole world and some people like to be discreat. -

Eating With People Who Don't Know About My Sleeve
lwilliams65 replied to alw1981's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
lol they are total freaks. My husband really always says someting. I swear, he is the best. We didnt talk to his family for 6 months cos of something stupid they said to me. It was a misunderstanding but none the less he did take my side. Its kind of hard to explain them... my hubs and i have been together for 6 years and his family has just never liked me. They smoke and do drugs and I dont care but I dont want them to do it around my kids and they've always had a problem with that. For me, its just better to not sayanything because no matter what I do say, it back fires. And anytime my husband tells them they are wrong its just drawn out drama. -

Lol... thanks!! My husband always sticks up for me but he is kind of burnt out cos they are always rude. It's worse because they are jut so ignorant. And I usually say what I think but it gets me in trouble because I have no sensor. Zero sugar when I talk and it always ends up in drama so I just dont want to tell them. But I dont really like lying. I guess im not going to tell them but if they comment on my small portions ill probably just be like oh yea I had surgery, I didnt tell you guys??? lol idk -
HELP! I need a good excuse!
lwilliams65 replied to conshy416's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would just say you are having surgery and its personal but once you are comfortable with handing out details they will be at the top of your list. Short, sweet and honest. -
Pnemonia hurts horribly and in places you wouldnt think it would hurt. I had it a few years ago. I'd get a chest xray for sure like lessofmeismore said. I hope you feel better soon

How does recovery compare to c-section?
lwilliams65 replied to laceymm888's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I havent had my sleeve yet (surgery in 20 days) but I've had 3 C-sections and bounced back super quick. Within 2 days it was like nothing ever happened. A lot of people have told me if i recovered quick with those then VSG should be a breeze. I'll let you know after my surgery if you still havent got yours ) -

Eating With People Who Don't Know About My Sleeve
lwilliams65 replied to alw1981's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We actually just started talking to them again. We didn't talk to his family for 6 months because of a stupid miss understanding. It is really hard getting through to them. I'm a really blunt person and they don't like it at all. So I don't feel like they do it out of bluntness I just think it's because it's one thing they know will hurt me. I hate to say that they are out to hurt me but sometimes that's how it feels. My husband has tried talking to them several times and it just makes it worse. Excuse my mouth but its just a shitty situation. The only reason I do anything with them is because my kids adore them and my family is 2000 miles away :/ I don't want to lie to them but I also don't want them to laugh at me. Last time I went on a diet his dad said, "well if this one lasts maybe you'll actually fit in with our family" and then his mom and sister started giggling. I'm not really a very insecure person, I've kinda just always rocked what i had ya know but they are in my opinion just mean spirited and I just don't want them to ruin this for me. I'm so excited beyond belief. Like I don't think anyone is as thrilled to get cut open as I am and my family is kind of already being downers so thats why I'm on here so much. I'd rather surround myself around people that are excited for me and see the beauty in this surgery rather then the people that think its a cop out or a hoaks. -
Ugh, I want birth control so bad but i don't have insurance. I'm 22 and have 3 kids. It is already so easy for the Hub's and I to get preggo and I hear its super easy after surgery. I love my kids but I really don't want anymore. So pull out method and condoms are gonna have to do for now. Bummer!

Eating With People Who Don't Know About My Sleeve
lwilliams65 replied to alw1981's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not sleeved yet but I've kind of wondered the same thing. I really don't ever plan on telling my husband's family about it only because they have made me very insecure around them. All the women in his fam are at max a size 5 and all the men are tall and skinny (except my hubs is tall and stalky... dont know how that worked out). They have always made fun of big people around me and always make fun of me when I say I'm on a diet so I just don't want to be ridiculed for something I want so desperately. I know that it is sort of copping out but they are demons I dont want to face. My mother and father in law come visit every other weekend and take us to eat EVERYTIME! I'm like the worst liar ever. I mean there is no hope for me to lie unless I rehearse 100 times. So the first time we go I plan to say I'm not feeling good. The second time ill just say i ate before i came, the third time ill say im on a strict diet and hopefully by then they wont ask anymore but boy do i feel ugly even having to think up lies. I just really dont want to be the family joke anymore. -
The closer I get to my sleeve date the larger I feel...
lwilliams65 replied to afreeka123's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Omg, exactly how I feel. My surgery is Feb 25th but the past couple weeks I just feel disgusting. I've always been very into fashion, hair and makeup and I've always been determined to dress fasionably despite my size but lately i don't even want to get ready, I just feel so gross. I feel like nothing fits and nothing looks good. I feel like my face looks fat. I don't want to see anyone I know until after surgery but I still weigh the same I did when I first decided to get the surgery which was in November. I think it is my subcontious mind preparing me so I won't back out. I hope you start to feel better love! Your date is close too -
Mine is Feb 25th too ))

Update on my surgery with Dr. Garcia!
lwilliams65 replied to Armywife29's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I love that this post is so informative and I hope your recovery is going well. I do have one question, you will probably laugh at me but.... what kind of vehicle did the driver pick you up in? I read about some lady that got picked up in a15 year old car with broken windshield. M dad is coming with me and I can just totally see him freaking out if that's the case. lol -
I want a treadmill bad! I had a gym membership but I quit going cos I have 3 little kids and it was a pain havig to pack them up and take them all with me. The gym had someone to watch them but it was just a hassle. By the time I got there I felt like i already did a work out. I want a treadmill so I can just run while te kids nap or watch cartoons.
