Couple of random questions..

I've had 3 c sections... They were all waaay easier but don't panic too much because I've heard a lot of people say this was easier than a c section. Everyone is different but for me I'd have 20 c sections before I ever do this again. I'm almost 3 weeks post op and still in pain. Not everyone gets nauseated. I dry heaved like crazy the first day after surgery but I haven't been nauseated since but be careful because a lot of people do have it and if you get anxiety over it, that's really not gonna be a good thing because sometimes its unavoidable. Make sure to always drink slow and eat slow so you can avoid it as easy as possible good luck!! -

The Good, the Bad, but Mostly, the UGLY
lwilliams65 replied to Newnay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Dry heaving, diarrhea, heart burn, rib pain for days, sneezing and coughing due to cold... There is lots of so called "ugly" but its still all worth it in the end and I'm still no where near the end. Good luck to you. -
YOU CAN DO THIS!!! All of us newbies are struggling in our own way. Depend on God's strength to get you through. It will get better. Give it a couple more weeks, I know the time is going by slow right now but that will change too.

Can you take a PPI right after surgery if its not liquid? -
I feel like I'm kind of in the same boat. About 5 days out I started getting this pain on the left side near my top incision. It hurts to bend, sit, pee, roll... It just hurts. It hurts when I eat certain stuff and it hurts to the touch. I'm a stay at home mom with no family around so I do have to lift my 16 month old daughter. I do it minimally (just to put her in and out of her crib) but she is 23 pounds. I don't have health insurance so I don't want to go to the ER unless its Necessary but I don't know if it is or if I'm psyching myself out.

When is the normal bowl movements gonna happen, seriously?
lwilliams65 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Man after surgery I have something new to talk about everyday lol. Seriously though I am way too prissy for diarrhea all the time. I get the urge and I just wanna cry cos I'm so grossed out by my body right now. Gas was disturbing enough and now diarrhea?? How do people ever feel sexy after surgery if they are constantly blowing ass and pooping brown water... Not cool folks. -

When can we stop being fearful of leaks?
lwilliams65 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been reading some posts about leaks and needless to say, the thought scares the heck out of me. I was self pay in Mexico and I don't have health insurance (don't judge) so I've tried o research the best I can on my own. I've heard people say your body is healed at 6 weeks but does that also mean your staple line is healed then? I want to make sure to be very cautious until I'm in the clear. I almost don't want to eat any solid food at all until I know I'm safe cos it scares me. I'm one of those lucky ones that so far can tolerate anything and although I've stuck to my post op diet, it still frightens me because sipping annoys me since I feel like I don't need to sip. Can taking normal drinks instead of sips cause a leak?? I know none of you are doctors but I still like to read all the input I can get. I am able to contact everyone in Mexico that was part of my surgery and I plan to do so but I just wanted to hear from you guys a little too. Thanks -

When can we stop being fearful of leaks?

Bypass is scarier cos they have to re route your intestines :/ it is scary but you have to ask yourself if the low percent risk of a leak is worth it. To me it was because obesity causes a lot more problems and risks then maybe a leak. Hang in there and make the best choice for you. Everyone is different -

Well that's really good. I thought that the symptoms aren't shown right away though so can't you have a leak and not know for a while? Why do people even get leaks? I know you can get them from eating too early but is that the only way? -
